You may remember my post on the American Family Association's "burning" cross Christmas decoration. If you caught the Daily Show last night (the 4th), then you are of course aware that Stewart mocked the same cross. This is all fine and dandy, but Jon, where's my slice of that sweet, sweet Daily Show-pie?
Did you sit through Bush’s speech? Did you get an the feeling that you’d heard that speech before? You weren’t the only one. Jon Stewart had that same exact feeling:

“The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” may be a satirical show that often makes up fake news but it often points out obvious truths. On Wednesday night, “The Daily Show” featured a segment on the gender card when reacting to the media’s scrutiny of Governor Palin. The segment first focused on clips of Karl Rove talking about Republican Governor Sara Palin and Democratic Governor Tim Kaine.
I really really need to watch the Daily Show more often. This video is classic.
Summary: Talking heads in media are hypocritical shits that are never held accountable for their sleaze. But at least John helps us laugh at them.

I know it is late , but you know me , it is never too late , I comment about Alexander the great sexuality so why not to speak about last week’s stuff . Jon Stewart made fun from AIPAC and the appearance of the two candidates Obama and McCain “also Hilary” and how they kissed the AIPAC ass. I have seen on TV and I am happy to find it that it is so popular on the Internet From the Daily

Former Bush Admin Under Secretary of Defense Douglas Feith was on The Daily Show to set the record straight on the war. Apparently we were not misled into war. Jon started summer early by firing up the grill and sticking Feith on it. Listen to the defense of a man who was in the room when all the planning went down and decide if you believe him

For everyone who hasn’t read a book on the subject and wants to know why “terrorists” want to blow us up watch this.
For those who missed it, Jon Stewart's interview with former Undersecretary of Defense Doug Feith is well worth watching for a discussion of whether the administration misled the country in the buildup to the invasion of Iraq. I highly recommend the whole thing. (h/t reddit)
NEW YORK (AP) — Of the Democratic presidential candidates, would Republican John McCain rather take on Barack Obama or Hillary Rodham Clinton?

She put her baby bump on display at Saturday's Film Independent's Spirit Awards. And even though Angelina Jolie didn't actually attend Sunday's Academy Awards, her pregnancy still got a nod from host Jon Stewart. During a short interlude, the Daily Show star teased about all the expectant actresses in attendance – referencing Jessica Alba and Cate Blanchett – and then announced (as if he were presenting an award), "the baby goes to ... Angelina Jolie!" Then, the funnyman quipped, "Obviously Angelina couldn't be with us tonight. It's tough getting 17 babysitters on Oscar night."– Brian Orloff

On a recently-aired episode of "The Daily Show," Jon Stewart covered the issue of waterboarding, and said outright that it is obviously torture. In fact it practically defines torture. He gave me hope in his overt way of speaking the truth that America has enough people like him to counteract those who would make this country into something twisted. It's easy with what's going on nowadays to feel like this country is being dragged down into an unsavory place by people who either don't know any better or are disturbingly selfish. Hopefully more people like Jon Stewart will help keep the public informed about what is right for us as a country, and what is most definitely wrong.
The New York Times reported yesterday that Daily Show comedian Jon Stewart has been selected to host the 80th Annual Academy Awards on February 24th, 2008.Stewart has hosted once before, back in 2006, to mixed reviews from critics and viewers alike. While Stewart's last Oscar gig resulted in some of the lowest ratings the ceremony has ever had, one presumes he was called back to duty in 2008 given the fact that it's a Presidential election year.An official announcement is expected sometime today.
Barack Obama on the Daily Show with John Stewart Barack Obama was on one of my favorite TV shows on Wednesday, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Barack talks about experience and judge as a potential candidate and the role the media is playing in this debate with Hillary Clinton. It was an interesting appearance and if you missed it here are the videos. Part 1:In this part of the video Barack and Jon talk about an Oprah fundraiser and celebrities fundraising on his behalf. They also discuss whether or not Hillary Clinton’s being First Lady is experience for being president or not. Part 2:
Comedy and news interact in all kinds of places. Certainly one of the most high-profile examples is The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. With that in mind, I think it’s pretty interesting to keep up with what Jon Stewart has to say about news and comedy.

Sometimes colleges and universities get celebrities to give the commencement speeches -- that way, there's no need for public relations stuff. But sometimes they just give the celebrity an honorary degree so he or she could give the commencement speech as well as bring the media. That's exactly what the College of William & Mary did with Jon Stewart and here's the commencement speech he gave:Thank you Mr. President, I had forgotten how crushingly dull these ceremonies are. Thank you. My best to the choir. I have to say, that song never grows old for me. Whenever I hear that song, it reminds me of nothing. I am honored to be here, I do have a confession to make before we get going that I should explain very quickly. When I am not on television, this is actually how I dress. I apologize, but there’s something very freeing about it. I congratulate the students for being able to walk even a half a mile in this non-breathable fabric in the Williamsburg heat.
