Brigid O’Rourke, spoke model for John F. Kerry, (D-MA) has her hands full lately. Last week she was assailing Jeff Beatty,(R-MA)candidate for U.S. Senate. due to his calling John Kerry an opportunist - today it was Ed O’Reilly, (D) Kerry’s first Senate challenger in 24 years that has Brigid somewhat upset. Apparently, Ed O’Reilly is guilty of telling the truth – something that Brigid mig
Jeff Beatty, Republican Candidate for US Senate recently chastised incumbent John Kerry for his use of veterans as props for his political ambitions. Kerry’s spokesperson, Brigid O’Rourke, complained to the Globe that Beatty was using “Karl Rove” tactics, (Note: Apparently, the Kerry Campaign is concerned with the general election if this comparison is being drawn prior to the primary.)
John Kerry (D-MA) should be taking his bid for re-election a bit more seriously – given that he is faced with worrisome polls (Suffolk University Poll), a stronger than anticipated primary challenger (Ed O’Reilly) and a stronger GOP Opposition Candidate (Jeff Beatty). Additionally, the Bay States Newspapers normally Kerry committed editorial slant is taking a turn - in the opposite direction
John Kerry, junior Senator, Democrat, Massachusetts has been receiving a bit of local (state) press lately, most of which is questioning his unwillingness to debate his primary challenger, Ed O’Reilly. John Kerry, Junior Senator (D) Massachusetts, who is facing his first primary challenge in 23 years, has made several appearances in the Bay state in the past few weeks. Jeff Beatty, Republican Candidate for Senate MA, is siding with 70% of the populous nationwide in a call to drill for oil (offshore and anywhere else we might have a barrel). He is running against incumbent John Kerry (D) who is in favor of allowing anyone but a US oil company to drill offshore. (Cuba and China are apparently OK) Kerry is fearful that a US Oil Company may make a profit by drilling
WCVB Boston is reporting that Ed O’Reilly, (Firefighter, Lobsterman, Lawyer, and candidate for US Senate MA) is challenging incumbent John Kerry to a series of “town hall style” debates during the month of August. In a recent campaign stop in Framingham, (Kerry "In Your Corner" tour) John Kerry spoke to approximately 100 supporters at a donut shop – stressing the need to win the White House over his own re-election. Massachusetts Senator, John Kerry, on the stump for Barack Obama, appeared CBS’s Face the Nation this past Sunday. The topic: Barack Obama’s apparent change of stance, or evolving view of the War in Iraq – otherwise known as flip-flopping. In defense of Obama, Kerry turned on John McCain, accusing McCain of flip-flopping on, of all things, the war in Iraq. The term, flip-flop, became par

Tomorrow, the Commerce Committee will hold a hearing on net neutrality. Senator John Kerry wants your comments:
We need to set the rules of the road so that it doesn’t take overwhelming public pressure to get movement from corporations on network management issues. We need to give the investment and telecommunications industries clarity on what they can expect going forward.
I’ve seen compelling testimony that Net Neutrality, for example, would have a minimal effect on investment in infrastructure improvements and expansion. There is simply no reason for us to delay any longer in this.
I understand that clogged traffic due to high volume can be a problem – another reason to enact policies to expand infrastructure, by the way – but discriminating against content is not an acceptab
On one of today’s battles of the surrogates John Kerry backed Barack Obama while Ed Rendell backed Hillary Clinton on This Week. Kerry made many good points in favor of Obama. Kerry said that a President Obama would help the US, in relations with Muslim countries, "in some cases go around their dictator leaders to the people and inspire the people in ways that we can't otherwise.""He has the ability to help us bridge the divide of religious extremism," Kerry said.
Martin Luther King Jr. said “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." In the video below you will hear Sen. John Kerry state that Barack Obama is best suited to deal with Muslim nations because he is "African American". Kerry also said "it would be an affirmation of who we are as Americans, if we elect an African American President." Now correct me if I am wrong but aren't we supposed to judge somebody by their merits and experience not by the color of their skin? John Kerry and many black leaders are making a mess out of the message of Dr. King. Looking beyond skin color is supposed to be the ultimate goal . Everyone is the same regardless of race, gender or
Nearly four years after being “swift boated,” former Democratic Presidential Nominee John Kerry has a public wager with Texas businessman T. Boone Pickens–one of the funders of Swift Boat Veterans for Truth about the group’s claims. Via KHOU:
Sen. John Kerry, whose 2004 presidential campaign was torpedoed by critics of his Vietnam War record, said Friday he has personally accepted a Texas oilman’s offer to pay $1 million to anyone who can disprove even a single charge of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.
In a letter to T. Boone Pickens, the Massachusetts Democrat wrote: “While I am prepared to show they lied on allegation after allegation, you have generously offered to pay one million dollars for just one thing that can be proven false. I am prepared to prove the lie beyond any reasonable doubt.”
Kerry, a Navy veteran and former prosecutor, said he was willing to present his case directly to Pickens, a Dallas resident who provided $3 mill
University of South Carolina students attending a John Kerry speech ran for their lives as security guards opened fire on them. Nobody was hurt, but several students were trampled in the rush for the exits. Kerry aides, speaking on condition of anonymity, downplayed the incident: "Do you think we'd seriously murder a bunch of college kids? We just wanted to scare them a bit; they were being insolent."
Eyewitnesses gave conflicting accounts of the shooting. Sophomore Jane Hutchins claims that Kerry became upset when students booed after Kerry endorsed the Hillary Clinton health plan, "It wasn't like we were totally against it. We just didn't like that it preserved the for-profit insurance industry's stranglehold on health care. We wanted a single-payer system. After we noticed Kerry was a little quiet, we all tried to apologize, but he just winked at us and started walking away. That's when the shooting started."
Another attendee, Chad "Che" Wilkins contradicted Ms. Hutchins'
The video below sums it up. What else can be said. This is what used to happen when union members would question their leaders (or what happens when people question the Clintons). Now while John Kerry seems to want to answer the question, he does nothing while these campus police arrest and taser a college student. John Kerry ran for president on his record in Vietnam and that he was a war hero that could handle the duress of the war on terror. What a crock. This man has no backbone. This episode reveals what the Swift Boat Veterans were telling us all along. That John Forbes Kerry is unfit for command. The fact that he couldn't stand up for this innocent college student should make this patently obvious. Regardless, something doesn't seem right here.Imagine if an Al Qaeda terrorist (who was actually threatening lives) was attacked in the same manner. We'd hear all over the news how the terrorists "rights" were being violated etc etc etc. . .Related EditorialsAl Gore and John Kerry R
Yes, I called him an idiot. I would’ve thrown fool, nitwit, and jackass in there too but I didn’t want to make the title overly long. I was thinking about ranting about that guy that said something about how it’s worse when a white person says bitch as opposed to a black person, but since I keep hearing the college kid screaming on every news station I put on today, he wins out.
In case you haven’t heard about this let me catch you up real quick. John Kerry came to the University of Florida to give a speech and take questions from students on Monday. Andrew Meyer, who is obviously an attention whore or just generally not that bright, came up to the podium and started asking Kerry wacky questions like why he didn’t contest the 2004 election, were Kerry and Bush members of secret society in Yale, and whether Bush should be impeached. He went on forever, not even allowing Kerry to answer his questions and after using his allotted time, he threw a temper
Can anyone explain to me how John Kerry was ever elected the Democratic Party nominee? It is one thing to argue that we never should have been in Vietnam; it is another thing entirely to deny massacres after we left Vietnam and Southeast Asia. It is also more ridiculous to suggest that Communist reeducation camps were benign. For the love of God, this man really did ride the short bus to school.Consider this an open thread.Related EditorialsAl Gore and John Kerry Rode the Short Bus to SchoolJohn Edwards Joins John Kerry and Al Gore on the Short BusDemocrat Party: A Bunch of Trust Fund Babies
There is a common misconception that the Democrat Party is the party of intelligence and reason. Al Gore and John Kerry have even been touted as brilliant and visionary. As usual, nothing could be further from this inconvenient truth. After reviewing an old Washington Post article, we learn that Al Gore not only underperforms expectations, but he is one failing class away from riding the short bus to school. Gore received mostly C’s and B’s in English and French in High School. Moreover, he received a D in Natural Sciences and then got a C+ in Natural Sciences his senior year. Amazingly, those grades were sufficient for Gore to attend Harvard University. We all know, however, that his admittance had something to do with having a big-time Politician for a father. But, liberals still paint the false picture that only Republicans use their parent’s political power to get ahead. Not surprisingly, at Harvard, Al Gore “received one D, one C-minus, two C's, two C-pluses and one
From politico.com:
John Kerry spent $1.4 million more than federal rules allowed during his 2004 presidential bid, primarily on customizing two campaign planes, according to a draft audit by the Federal Election Commission.
Just another person who is lucky enough to have a ‘D’ after his name. Could you image the uproar we would hear about this if President Bush had overspent federal election laws? We would be subject to endless investigations.
Considering he left about 12 million dollars in his campaign war chest, couldn’t he have spent this money more wisely than customizing airplanes?
The draft audit also found the campaign’s media vendor improperly invested and earned interest on public funds. And auditors allege the campaign misreported its media buys and its outstanding debt.
This is just another example of the double standard that is evident in the media. John Kerry, who served in Vietnam and still carries shrapnel in his leg in case you haven’t hear
"Running for president is like having sex. You don't do it once and forget about it. You want to do it again."- James CarvilleVia Political Wire, it looks like John Kerry has reopened the door on a presidential run. He has a new book out, so it could just be a promotional thing. But it is interesting nonetheless.UPDATE: The Hotline says that John Kerry did not intend to reopen the door. Looks like he may have been misunderstood again.
During the Senate’s debate on federal funding of stem cell research it seems as though John Kerry may have twisted the truth a little bit. He spoke about a mouse being cured in Massachusetts using embryonic stem cells. There was a couple of problems with his statements though. One is that the mouse was never cured from an immune system problem, it’s immune system was partially restored. The second issue was that the stem cell were not embryonic cells they were adult stem cells.
Now either he was ignorant of the facts in this case or he deliberately mis-represented the facts of the case to further his agenda. Either way, it doesn’t matter, it still makes him look bad. Either he spoke on an issue without the facts or he lied. Which is worse?
Giving his history, like coming back from Veitnam and testifying that he saw American soldiers torturing people when he never actually saw this activity, I know which option I’m going with in his latest Senate debate.
Likability poll bad news for Kerry
Democratic Sen. John Kerry, mulling a second bid for the U.S. presidency, finished dead last in a poll released on Monday on the likability of 20 top American political figures.
Well it's a good thing that his dumb army guy joke didn't harm his chances in 2008. Actually the sad thing is that it probably didn't harm his chances all that much... they were already slim to none.
On the flip side...
In the current poll, former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, a Republican, ranked first with a mean score of 64.2, followed by Democratic Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois, 58.8, and McCain, 57.7. All three are potential presidential candidates.
In the new likability survey, U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice ranked fourth with 56.1, followed by former Democratic President Bill Clinton, 55.8, and Sen. Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut, who won re-election this month as an independent after losing the Democratic primary, 52.7.

In case you weren’t already convinced that John Kerry is an elitest snob with no respect for our men and women in uniform… well, he just made it quite clear in his own words.
That’s one soundbite that just might prevent him from a 2008 candidacy. Of course, this is the guy who got almost half of the vote despite the fact that he voted for the 87 billion dollars before he voted against it.
Massachusetts Senator John Kerry appears to be in a political "freefall" according to numbers from a new Quinnipiac Poll. According to the Quinnipiac Poll, Kerry ranked dead last, #20 out of 20, in a preference poll of possible 2008 Presidential Contenders. The Quinnipiac University popularity rankings - based on interviews with 1,600 voters - come as Kerry struggles to recover from his "botched" attempt at humor when he made a reference to soldiers serving in Iraq. Kerry ranked 20th out of 20 politicians, lagging far behind a slew of Democrats expected to seek the party's 2008 nomination. Tops among Democrats was Sen. Barack Obama (D-Illinois), followed by Sen. Joseph Lieberman, a former Connecticut Democrat turned independent; Kerry's former running mate, ex-North Carolina Sen. John Edwards; New York Sen. Hillary Clinton; and former Vice President Al Gore. Kerry received a dismal average score of 39.6 out of a possible 100 in the poll. "I think his goose is cooked,"
When people insist to me that they can predict with any certainty the outcome of the 2008 election, I remind them of those moments in past campaigns that, as brief as they were, have sunk supposedly strong candidates. Consider Biden's 'Neil Kinnock' speech in 1988, or Howard Dean's scream in 2004, or George Allen's macaca moment this year. All candidates are vulnerable to the one-off slip that, through repetition and over-exposure, becomes fatal to a campaign.John Kerry knows this all too well. His 'stuck in Iraq' comment - even though it was clearly a careless remark rather than a serious observation on the intelligence of those in the military - derailed his political momentum to a degree that might make it impossible for him to regain it. Having sought to brush off the incident as trivial, Kerry seems to have recognised its significance as he revealed at the start of the month that we was delaying his decision on running for President in 2008 until later in the Spring of
It's always nice to know who your friends are. John Kerry might once have turned to former Democratic National Committee chairman Terry McAuliffe for support, but since McAuliffe is an ally of the Clintons, a cooling of his relationship with Kerry might be expected. As Associated Press reported (here on Washington's WTOP), McAuliffe's memoir of his political career includes a scathing attack on Kerry's 2004 Presidential campaign. "McAuliffe calls the Kerry campaign gun-shy, incompetent and distracted from the mission of defeating a more organized Bush campaign," says AP. "McAuliffe said the Massachusetts senator's presidential campaign was so afraid of offending swing voters that it didn't defend his record and backed away from criticizing Bush at critical turns." AP quotes McAuliffe as describing Kerry's reluctance to attack Bush as "one of the biggest acts of political malpractice in the history of American politics." Stop pulling your punches, Terry - tell us what you re

I intend to work here to change a policy in Iraq that threatens all that I have worked for and cared about since I came home from Vietnam."Polls showed him trailing to Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and John Edwards but he still had 13 million dollars in the bank which would have been a good start towards showing people why they should give him the nomination again.John Edwards said about Kerry that, "all Americans are fortunate to have John's experience, insight and conscience in the Senate."The spokes woman for John Kerry's 2004 campaign said, "The reality is the 2008 race moved past him months ago, and catching up would have taken much more th
Larry picked up on John Kerry's departure from the race in his earlier post, but I wanted to recap on the Kerry stories prior to his exit, and comment on his welcome absence from the campaign.Things had not been looking great for Kerry in the two weeks prior to his announcement that he would not be running. A flurry of other announcements - but primarily those of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton - were making it necessary for him to make up his mind, and say something soon. With that pressure came plenty of adverse comment. Take this column in the Myrtle Beach Sun News from conservative columnist Jonah Goldberg. Kerry would be "the most beatable of Democrats," Goldberg wrote, gleefully. "His political instincts are duller than a prison-cafeteria spork. And never in my lifetime have we seen a presidential candidate with a more thumbless grasp of the way average Americans talk or live."Boston Herald columnist Virginia Buckingham was kinder - to the point of looking a little silly.
Politicans sure love baseball: I'll give props to the blog, Babes Who Love Baseball for this one, as I was out last night and spent some the morning finishing up the San Francisco Giants review along with my Black History article & didn't check the news wire until very late. It seems like John Kerry and other politicians love to get into the business of baseball, and the whole debate about Direct TV and the Extra Innings Package is no different.
