John Bolton writes in the LA Times (via Michelle Malkin) and points out how Barack Obama's forgetting some important lessons from the Cold War, a battle that may be coming back:
Obama explained that the fall of the Berlin Wall and the reunification of Europe proved “that there is no challenge too great for a world that stands as one.”
Perhaps Obama needs a remedial course in Cold War history,

I could have not put it any better than this. Talk about Reagan-esque wisdom…

What is implicit in Obama’s reference to “tiny” threats is that they are sufficiently insignificant that negotiations alone can resolve them. Indeed, he has gone even further, arguing that the lack of negotiations with [...]
John Bolton’s article today in the Wall Street Journal questions Obama’s unwillingness to have pre-conditions on talks with terror sponsor/funding/supporting states like Iran. He states how most rational individuals are 99%ers (like McCain/Bush) who wish for political diplomacy 99% of the time, but would obviously not be so naive to say that negotiations will [...]
Mr Bolton said that striking Iran would represent a major step towards victory in Iraq. While he acknowledged that the risk of a hostile Iranian response harming American’s overseas interests existed, he said the damage inflicted by Tehran would be “far higher” if Washington took no action.
“This is a case where the use of military [...]

Last Thursday night, former UN Ambassador John Bolton went to the Barnes & Noble store at Lincoln Center...ostensibly to promote his new book about his experiences at the UN, Surrender is not an Option. When he reached the podium, he made some brief remarks about the book's objective...then threw the forum open for over an hour of questions.....>>
NEW YORK CITY…12/09/07 3:48am EST…Former U.N. Appointee John Bolton gave a rare telephone interview this morning from his fortified home in New York. Located in an unspecified area of Manhattan, all that is known publicly about Bolton's fortification is that "it was formerly a co-op, with a view of the Hudson" Stated Bolton, "I met a lot of resistance when I attempted to buy in…I didn't have
Right Wing News' John Hawkins has had the honor of interviewing former UN ambassador John Bolton, surely the only sensible attendant at that otherwise awful place (Hat tip: Hot Air). Once again, I call for appointing Bolton to one of the best jobs possible following 2008's election. But of course, there'll also be the need to find and support a good right-wing candidate, and Bolton himself says
Former American ambassador to the UN John Bolton just boldly let the BBC radio know what kind of scum they really are. Little Green Footballs has the recording of Bolton's bravery (via Hot Air). It's not hard to see why the scum at the UN didn't like him. He's not afraid to tell people like the Chomskyites who hang around the Beeb what he thinks of them. The interviewer, by all means, was asking for it, and Bolton boldly gave it to him. He deserves much applause, and I think he should be given a major position as a diplomat. And wow! The AFP actually seems to find it impressive:LONDON (AFP) - Straight-talking former US ambassador to theUnited Nations John Bolton accused a top BBC presenter of being leftwing and "a superior Brit" in a colourful on-air spat Thursday. The controversial ex-diplomat, who left the UN post in January, made the comments after fiercely defending the United States' role in Iraq and saying that force should be used against Iran if necessary.BBC presenter John H
You have to love Mark Steyn....well no you don't I guess, but he's one helluva writer that I find myself agreeing with 96.8463% of the time. Today he has a column up that was originally published during the Bolton confirmation hearings.
And so another one bites the dust: John Bolton will step down as UN Ambassador because a handful of absurdly self-regarding Democrats (plus Lincoln Chafee)
John Bolton, the very fiery and "blunt-spoken" ambassador of the USA at the United Nations (UN), resigned. Even though he didn't take it very well, American president George W. Bush still accepted it. Apparently, George W. Bush will be going through a bereavement, if you know what I mean... In fact, John Bolton is no longer at the UN to preach George W. Bush's will to the international community. Besides, John Bolton always hated the UN if you look at his critiques about it.Some newspapers in Canada suggest that the Democrats, whether they're in the Congress or in the Senate, are looking for a candidate that can reach both the Republican and the Democrat Party. All right, this is true, but can we have the whole truth, please! Today, the New York Times is saying that the eyes are starting to turn on Zalmay Khalizad, the actual US ambassador in Iraq.If all eyes are on Khalizad, let's hope that he won't be "at odds with the multilateral approach at the United Nations [just like John
President Bush Accepts Ambassador John Bolton's Resignation as U.S. Representative to the United Nations, Biography, John R. Bolton Ambassador Permanent U.S. Representative to the United NationsIt is with deep regret that I accept John Bolton's decision to end his service in the Administration as Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations when his commission expires.Over a year ago, I appointed Ambassador Bolton because I knew he would represent America's values and effectively confront difficult problems at the United Nations. He served his country with extraordinary dedication and skill, assembling coalitions that addressed some of the most consequential issues facing the international community. During his tenure, he articulately advocated the positions and values of the United States and advanced the expansion of democracy and liberty.Ambassador Bolton led the successful negotiations that resulted in unanimous Security Council resolutions regarding North
