Just A Few Years Ago Joe LiebermanWas The Democrat Vice-Presidential Nominee"I'm here, as a Democrat myself, to tell you: Don't be fooled," Lieberman said. While Lieberman has angered Democratic leaders, they haven't been able to do anything about it.Lieberman, who describes himself as an Independent Democrat, endorsed McCain for president on Dec. 17, 2007, when his friend was struggling for a com
Last night Joe Lieberman addressed the Republican Convention and made a direct appeal to moderates across the nation, regardless of party lines, to take a long look at McCain and cast their vote in November for a Republican. Although the party faithful Democrats are up-in-arms about Joe’s speech, those Progressives who would have replaced him in a heartbeat with an Obama clone two years ago, on
Let me make something clear. I can not, nor have ever, been able to stand Joe Lieberman.Screw the sour grapes regarding his party's choice to go with his challenger in his senatorial race in 2006. To watch this man spend the last year with his lips firmly affixed to John McCain's ass has been stomach-churning at the least. To appear at the Republican National Convention sup
Politico and Matt Drudge are both hinting at a McCain campaign leak tonight at approximately 6:00 PM – John McCain’s vice-presidential choice. The leak would be timed to send news houses into a tizzy. The question: how can networks cover two major political events effectively – Obama’s speech under a triumphal arch (or Temple), and the naming of McCain's running mate - one that some sourc
Here is what Nancy Pelosi recently said about Joe Lieberman:
You are right. Joe Lieberman has said things that are totally irresponsible when it comes to Barack Obama
Evidently she considers a man who is standing up for his beliefs instead of putting partisan politics first is acting irresponsible. ( I understand that technically Lieberman is an [...]

The New York Times speculates on what would have happened if Gore-Lieberman taken office in 2000:
Imagine for a moment the Supreme Court had gone the other way in Bush v. Gore in 2000. We would now be in year eight of the Gore-Lieberman administration. Well, maybe not the Lieberman part.
There’s nothing new about friction between [...]
Senator Joe Lieberman (I-Connecticut) further drove himself out of the graces of the Democratic Party when he endorsed Republican presidential candidate John McCain on Tuesday. Perhaps Lieberman was pushing them farther away in spite. Images of an irate, half-mad, Zeil Miller endorsing President Bush at the 2004 Republican National Convention come rushing back to me. The rarity of cross party endorsements in presidential elections is what makes this especially backstabbing. Lieberman has enraged Democrats over the past few years by refusing to go against the president on the Iraq war and a possible war with Iran. Lieberman has been a strong Bush supporter when it comes to the war in Iraq which cost him the Democratic nomination in Connecticut for U.S. Senate when he ran for re-election. Ned Lamont, who defeated Lieberman in the Democratic primary but lost to him when he ran as an Independent, criticized him for saying in 2006 that he wanted to elect a Democratic
Who could have predicted after the 2000 election that the Democratic vice presidential nominee would endorse a Republican for the 2008 election? Well, this strange event will take place later today at a town hall meeting in Hillsborough. Sources predict that Joe Lieberman will endorse John McCain for President.
Lieberman's justification for this decision is that he hopes McCain will unite the...

The pro-victory trio
Joe Lieberman has been against the war from the beginning, but this is still a very damning statement against his former party:
No Democratic presidential primary candidate today speaks of America's moral or strategic responsibility to stand with the Iraqi people against the totalitarian forces of radical Islam, or of the consequences of handing a victory in Iraq to Al Qaeda and Iran. ... Democrats have remained emotionally invested in a narrative of defeat and retreat in Iraq, reluctant to acknowledge the progress we are now achieving, or even that progress has enabled us to begin drawing down our troops there.
Columnists George Will and William Buckley, conservative opponents of the war, have moved on to other subjects. Hillary Clinton has taken a sextagonal approach to the war (it varies from Michael Moore to Norman Podhoretz, depending on the audience). Finally, candidates, blogs, and congress have been quiet or unenthusiastic in their attacks on Bush's I
Senator Joseph Lieberman (I-Connecticut)Lieberman will never break. He hopes the cots will "wake up Senators and Americans?""Mandated Defeat"...new tag phraseJoe, let's back up, was Al-Qaeda there before? No. The fact they even exist in Iraq is a defeat for us.He's seatbelted down on this Iran bandwagon...it's scary. Most Republicans aren't even this hawkish with Iran. How many Senators tonight are going to try to drive their point by quoting some soldier who is either supportive or unsupportive of the war? My guess is all of them.Until "early next year." We don't have the stomach to wait.Does this guy really think generals are going to call for a withdrawal?"Are you staying?" "How can we help?" Really? I'm sure that minority of Iraqis exist and are quickly being murdered or sent to Canada or Michigan for asylum.I'm so damn pissed this guy won reelection...he serves as a propaganda tool for the warhawks. He should be recalled.
Sen. Joseph Lieberman’s claim to fame is his unflagging support of President George W. Bush’s disastrous Iraq war. Lieberman has extensive foreign policy experience; he should recognize a lost cause when he sees one. Lieberman would have placed bets on Napoleon Bonaparte at Waterloo and cheered on Gen. Custer at Little Big Horn.
It’s bad enough that [...]
(CBS) The United States should launch military strikes against Iran if the government in Tehran does not stop supplying anti-American forces in Iraq, Sen. Joe Lieberman said Sunday on Face The Nation."I think we've got to be prepared to take aggressive military action against the Iranians to stop them from killing Americans in Iraq," Lieberman told Bob Schieffer. "And to me, that would include a strike into... over the border into Iran, where we have good evidence that they have a base at which they are training these people coming back into Iraq to kill our soldiers."The Indepedent former Democrat from Connecticut said that he was not calling for an invasion of Iran, but he did say the U.S. should target specific training camps."I think you could probably do a lot of it from the air, but they can't believe that they have immunity for training and equipping people to come in and kill Americans," Lieberman said.Lieberman, who has been one of Congress's most outspoken supporters of th
I wonder how much longer until Joe Lieberman makes the move and switches to the Republican party? This is an excellent slap in the face to that Defeatocrat Harry Reid. It is a press release from Joe Liebermans Senate home page. ~RJHSenator Joe Liebermans home pageFOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEApril 20, 2007Contact: Marshall Wittmann, 202-224-4041 Senator Lieberman's Statement on Majority Leader Reid's Comment that the Iraq War is "Lost" WASHINGTON - Senator Joe Lieberman (ID-CT) today made the following statement in response to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's comment that the Iraq War is "lost:" "This week witnessed horrific terrorist attacks by Islamist extremists in Iraq, killing hundreds of innocent civilians and leading Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid to declare that the war is 'lost.' With all due respect, I strongly disagree. Senator Reid's statement is not based on military facts on the ground in Iraq and does not advance our cause there. Al Qaeda's
I've always liked Joe Lieberman. Even when he was involved with AlGore I still respected him...for the most part. The one thing I was a bit uneasy about was the way he seemed to back off of what had always been his core issues. One might even say core values but I know how the left hates any intimation that they should have reasonable "values". Â I don't need to make a laundry list as I am sure most will realize what I mean. I can see Joe Lieberman switching parties. He's another person where the party has left him rather than him leaving the party. He will of course be thoroghly trashed by the left for daring to have a conscience and vote with his feet so to speak. I saw the way the moonbats pilloried Zell Miller for making his famous key note speech at the Republican '04 primary and would expect the same sort of vindictive and juvenille behavior from them again if and when Joe Lieberman does switch parties. Obviously this could mean a major power shift in control of the Senate as
