Jeter will probably miss a week, but what if he misses more games, what if he had to go on the DL? Is it the end of the world for the Yanks? Probably not. UPDATE 10:30 PM: Joe Girardi said on the post game that it's going to be "a little bit" till Jeter plays again. Jeter will definitely sit tomorrow. He also said that he doesn't think Jeter will need to be put on the DL, that they'll take it day by day, but it will probably be a week. Jeter had an MRI and it showed a strain.Derek Jeter was removed from tonight's game in the third with a strained left quad. He ran hard when he beat out a double play ball in the first, but he didn't appear to be in that much pain. He also made a play in the field in the second which he appeared fine on. Yankee Derek Jeter says he would not be opposed to an HGH test for players. Jeter told Bloomberg Radio over the weekend he would not take issue with a test for Human Growth Hormone, especially since he and his fellow Yankees have blood drawn every year for Spring physicals. New York state tax officials have settled their case against Derek Jeter. Tax officials had claimed that Jeter should have paid three years of taxes as a New York state resident. The New York Daily News says the case has been settled.Terms of the settlement aren't being disclosed. A superficial look at Derek Jeter's overall stats makes it appear that this season is on the low side of his career norms, but not terrible. After all, how bad can a guy be if he bats .314/.385/.431?

What would have happened if the Astros drafted Derek Jeter as Hal Newhouser insisted?? I try to quantify what would, and could, have occurred.
