      JetBlue Blows It Again
What the hell is wrong with this airline? Aren’t they the ones who last year stranded passengers for over a week with delayed flights and made folks sit on planes with no food for 8+ hours on the tarmac waiting for the plane to thaw (which it never did). You would have thought [...]

Passenger sues JetBlue over flight spent on toilet!
Air travel is just awful these days.. At my old “corporate job”, I was traveling 52 weeks a year, as our big client wanted us working on-site.. I flew so much, I quickly made Platinum Preferred with US Air, and had well over 150K frequent flyer miles! But back in those days (1999-2001), air [...]

JetBlue Discount Airline Tickets Going in for the Kill Shot
JetBlue Discount Airline Tickets Going in for the Kill ShotWith Delta in bankruptcy we see the more successful discount air carriers going in to the kill. JetBlue is expanding, buying planes and opening routes while fuel costs are at a record high and other airlines are in bankruptcy. Delta and Northwest are both jettisoning some of their aircraft from their fleets, closing some routes and giving away some gates at some of the busiest airports.Because JetBlue’s cost structure is lower and it operates in a hybrid model, rather than the standard spoke and hub routing structure it can fly for less. By having cheaper fairs it has consistently had fuller flights. Their hybrid point-to-point and larger Hub and Spoke model at its largest airport markets it is able to get the benefit of maximum

I just got an email today from Twitter: Hi, pocketseo. JetBlue Airways (JetBlue) is now following your updates on Twitter. Check out JetBlue Airways’s profile here: http://twitter.com/JetBlue Best, Twitter I’ve experimented a bit with using Twitter for direct traffic and I think it can be useful if you are sending the right message in your “tweets”. JetBlue has 522 people following them on Twitter, with some of them probably getting updates by cell phone. Southwest Air also has a Twitter feed, but they have it blocked unless you request to follow them. Why make it more difficult for people to follow your Twitter updates?

      The Morning After JetBlue
The morning after a 9-hour ordeal with JetBlue, in which you are not waking up in your intended destination, kind of feels like a hang-over. I should be at my parents' house in Asheville eating a fabulous lunch of spare ribs marinated Filipino-style, Pancit, fried rice and lumpia. But what are you gonna do? Sit around and cry about it?If you've ever had my mom's cooking - maybe; but not when you're in a city like New York. Before I go out and find something to do with my Saturday in the city, I wanted to take one last moment to vent about my first and last experience with JetBlue before I completely leave that day in the past.JetBlue play-by-play:1) Flying to Charlotte on JetBlue instead of to Asheville on Delta because flights to Asheville were elevated due to Belle Chere.2) Check in at JetBlue counter after 3 p.m.3) Wait in line for a salad with Mr. Cooper and eat near Gate 9.4) Flight delayed to 5:15 p.m. from original departure time of 4:45 p.m.5) No big deal; continue reading

JetBlue and Google join the mile-high club
Someday you’ll be rich and famous, circling the world in a Marquis Jet -- heading to your next golf outing. You’ll pull up to the jet and be handed a glass of bubbly, chilled to a cool 45 degrees. You'll be on your flight and you'll know that you're going to arrive early enough to make your tee time. Someday. Until then, you could use JetBlue's new real-time in-flight tracking channel. The JetBlue Google Maps system will allow fliers to track the progress of their flight -- location, altitude, and air speed -- while en route. Let's just hope you don’t find yourself staring at JFK on the seat back screen while stranded on the tarmac. Customers will also be able to track the progress of the JetBlue promotional RV as it travels across the US (in the event you are actually stuck on the tarmac and want to follow something that's moving.) Yes, it’s an unfair world up there; but at least now you'll know where you are. In addition, and more importantly, JetBlue's Web sit

JetBlue/Neeleman Message to CEOs: Boards Value Long-Term Risk Management over Crisis Response
JetBlue’s founder and CEO David Neeleman stepped down today when his board suggested that he ‘could best serve the company as a strategic visionary.’  According to the board and Neeleman, this was in the works for quite some time and has nothing to do with the February 14th flight delays. However, it’s hard not to hear the message being sent:  Board members value long-term risk management over immediate crisis response.  Even nearly heroic crisis response measures aren’t as important as an aversion to risk. There are several lessons that other CEOs and boards can learn from this situation: It comes down to money: JetBlue says this was planned for some time, but it’s highly likely that the Valentine’s Day disruption hastened the board’s decision. Despite his very strong leadership, David Neeleman is learning the unfortunate reality that, at the end of the day, ROI is what matters. The bottom line is the bottom line. Manage risk over c

His apology received more than 85,000 views in 48 hours, and has had 276,000 total views to date. Hey, Menu Foods and ChemNutra and that company in China and any of the Pet Food or Supply Chain participants… Here’s the take-home message. As such, JetBlue is scheduled to offer free beer, cocktails, and 'munchies' on SuperBowl Sunday for any unfortunate (or fortunate) passengers stuck in the air during game-time. DIRECTV has also agreed to whisper sweet nothings into your ear by letting you see the game from 35k feet in the air.
