      Jackson PollockInformación de la WikipediaJackson Pollock Nombre completo: Paul Jackson Pollock (28 de enero de 1912 - 11 de agosto de 1956) fue un influyente artista estadounidense y un referente en el movimiento del expresionismo abstracto. Considerado uno de los pintores más importante de los Estados Unidos en el siglo XX.Nació en Cody, Wyoming (Estados Unidos), y posteriormente, en 1929, se mudó a Nueva York, donde estudió con el pintor Thomas Hart Benton. Pollock se distanció del arte figurativo y desarrolló técnicas como el splashing o el dripping, consistentes en lanzar pintura al lienzo o dejarla gotear encima de este (action painting), sin utilizar dibujos ni bocetos. A causa de esta forma de pintar, Pollock fue apodado "Jack the Dripper" (juego de palabras con "Jack the Ripper" o "Jack el Destripador", y "Dripper" o "goteador" y que podríamos traducir como "Jack el Goteador").
