Bollywood - A popular and a synonymous term for the the Indian (Mumbai) film industry. It is a well known industry now across the globe. Thousands of films are produced each year in the bollywood. Most of the films do good business here and also abroad. But in the recent times, bollywood has disappointed. It is not what it used to be in the yesteryears. The kind of films produced in the
Can a stored procedure call itself or recursive stored procedure? How many level SP nestingpossible?Ans:Yes. Because Transact-SQL supports recursion, you can write stored procedures that call themselves.Recursion can be defined as a method of problem solving wherein the solution is arrived at byrepetitively applying it to subsets of the problem. A common application of recursive logic is to performnumeric computations that lend themselves to repetitive evaluation by the same processing steps.Stored procedures are nested when one stored procedure calls another or executes managed code byreferencing a CLR routine, type, or aggregate. You can nest stored procedures and managed codereferences up to 32 levels.

Cape Town - The Western Cape is preparing to promote itself as the destination of choice during this year's Tourism Indaba to be held in Durban from Saturday.
"We are making full use of the opportunity and platform provided by the Tourism Indaba to let the world know that the Western Cape is the ideal 365 [days a year] destination and that Cape Town is indeed the place to be, pre-, during and post 2010 FIFA World Cup," said Western Cape MEC for Finance and Tourism Lynne Brown on Friday.

According to a story on Bloomberg News this morning, struggling retailer Circuit City has decided to put itself up for sale. The company is opening its books to Blockbuster and other investors interested in an acquisition. If you recall, i posted a story last week about rumors of the company being on the verge of bankruptcy, which turn out to be untrue.
What does this mean for gift card holders? This is a bit of good news since any effort to keep the company alive means gifts cards will continue to be redeemed. However, as I have mentioned before, if you have a Circuit City gift card, now is the time to use it. Also, I do not recommend buying a Circuit City gift card until the company’s future is clear.

The Role of Speculators in the Global Food Crisis

According to the latest quarterly report from Halstead Property, the first quarter of 2008 saw property values continue their outlandish surge on the isle of Manhattan. The report touts "new records" in median sale prices and average apartment sale prices.Yes, $1.69 million is the new average sale price of an apartment, but remember, that's "average" and that number was pushed up artificially by two high-end properties: 15 Central Park West and the Plaza.Without those two, the average sale price would be a mere $1.4 million. Ah well. What this says, though, is that there is far more activity on the high end of the market, because the median sale price is $855,000 (which is still up 13 percent from last year).

In recent years Viet Nam has moved away from its tragic past, forging a new reputation for itself. With ambitions to become a developed nation by 2020, and stunning tourist attractions, Vietnam is also one of the "hottest" property markets in the world.
To many of us, Viet Nam still brings to mind images of a stricken country living with the consequences of the Viet Nam war, or "American war",

"A self-replicating 3D printer that spawns new, improved versions of itself is in development at the University of Bath in the UK. The "self replicating rapid prototyper" or RepRap could vastly reduce the cost of 3D printers, paving the way for a future where broken objects and spare parts are simply "re-printed" at home. New and unique objects could also be created."[via new scientist]
There was a small projection to a compound wall in front of one of the houses wherein a Ganesha Idol was kept and few local people worshipping it. Quite a harmless thing. But I happened to notice recently that a small makeshift fence has been set up around this box temple, occupying public land.No wonder, if this box temple will expand itself to occupy 50% of the road in next 6-12 months. Building places of religious worship is an easy way to make money and occupy precious real estate. Due to sensitive nature of the issue politicians and administration often hesitate to take stern action. Just keeping on record current scenario here, we’ll revisit this post after an year or so to see if the temple has occupied more space by expanding itself. Probably a bigger temple will be built around

Lufthansa Says it Wants to Keep Growing, By Itself if NecessaryFRANKFURT (AFP) — The German airline Lufthansa plans to keep growing alone if necessary, based on sustained demand combined with its pursuit of cost-cutting measures, the carrier said Wednesday. "2007 was not the summit" for Lufthansa, chief executive Wolfgang Mayrhuber told a press conference in Frankfurt. The biggest German airline had a record year in 2007, with an operating profit of 1.38 billion euros (2.12 billion dollars) and net profit of 1.66 billion, helped in part by asset sales and a favourable German tax reform. In 2008, it wants to "renew, and if possible surpass the very good results of last year," Mayrhuber said, without providing detailed figures. The airline faces several challenges however, as oil prices hit

Pfizer sought to reassure investors yesterday that the unravelling of its "monolithic" structure would prepare it for the impending expiry of the patent for its blockbuster cholesterol drug Lipitor, worth some $12bn in annual sales.Under pressure from Wall Street to retool Pfizer to boost sales and profit, Jeff Kindler, chief executive, gave a frank assessment of the disruption created by its $90bn Warner-Lambert and $60bn Pharmacia deals since 2000. He provided the most detailed evidence yet of Pfizer's efforts to streamline its operations, change its culture and improve its research and science.

Summary: I'm ambivalent about Toyota Prius, but not the hybrid Camry. While I can argue about the relatively high cost of the Prius, for some reason the cost of a sense of marks hybrid Camry. Maybe that's because Camrys were part of the landscape for years, while the Prius is still a relative newcomer. And because the cost of a Camry XLE can easily enter in the range of mid-$ 30000, while the price of a Camry hybrid fuel-sipping can be easily maintained in the mid-sector high - $ 20000.

Nokia's new Morph concept phone would use nanotechnology to give it a flexible body with a transparent display that could be re-shaped depending on the user's needs, a far cry from today's solid and chunky devices. Even the electronics inside it would be transparent and flexible, so the whole phone may be twisted and stretched into bracelet shapes or tablet form, and nanotech cleverness means it would even clean itself. Developed in cooperation with Cambridge University, this glimpse of a distant future is now on display at the MoMA in New York The main idea behind Nokia Morph concept phone is the use of nanotechnology based flexible materials, transparent electronics and self-cleaning surfaces. These materials should enable Nokia to produce a mobile device that “…might be stretchab

Microsoft reverses itself again on Vista virtualizationIna FriedMost people expect some flip-flopping in an election year, but not usually from their software vendor.Nonetheless, Microsoft on Monday changed its mind again, saying it will allow users to run Vista Home Basic and Vista Home Premium as guest operating systems on a virtual machine. The news is especially welcome for Mac users who want to run the latest Windows version without having to pay an arm and a leg. Until now, Mac users and others wanting to run Vista virtually have had to fork over for the most expensive Business and Ultimate versions.Microsoft had briefed reporters in June that it was going to expand Vista's virtualization options, but then for reasons that were never made clear, it reversed itself and never announced
The above advertisement for the Citroën C4 was withdrawn in Spain after complaints from some Chinese that it was insulting to the entire nation. Somehow, I think that’s an exaggeration. The only thing I hate about the holidays is the stress. I'm going to my parent's house tomorrow to help clean and start preparations for the annual Christmas Eve breakfast. And it's stressful, y'all.Just running through a mental checklist, I think of all the shopping for groceries and gifts to make it all possible. Then there's the wrapping, the cooking and cleaning, the decorating, the spending of money that you may or may not have. And it's all to make other people happy, which in itself isn't a bad thing, but it really stinks when you can't just sit back and enjoy some of it and not feel guilty over the money spending or what you s

By: Deon Melchior Fashion has certainly come a long way from the top hats and petticoats era of the past. Clothes today have become a great combination of aesthetics and function. One might think that because of the progress that we have maid in the area of clothing, we would not look back at our past. Reality, as always, has a way of denying what we all think. Today, we all see a resurgence of popular fashion styles from the past. It seems that old school fashion is coming back.First of all, what is old school fashion? Well, it constitutes of fashion coming from 1970s-1980s. Old school fashion is being brought back by fashion conscious young adults and teenagers today. Old school fashion is not only determined by the clothes. Old school fashion is evident in accessories, hairstyles and even in the attitude of the youth today. The question, however, is why? Why is old school fashion coming back? There are a variety of reasons why people are bringing back old school fashion. First of all

China is Destroying Itself, by Tom Carter In four months or less, a 1,700-year-old village, and the mountain life it preserves, will see water seep through the ancient wood homes, rising higher and higher, until it is completely submerged beneath the jade shoals of the Wu River.Gongtan of the Youyang Tujia-Miao Autonomous County in southeast Chongqing will unfortunately meet the same fate as countless other unprotected historical sites across China being leveled in the name of innovation. In its place, the Pengshui Hydro Power Plant will be resurrected, not exactly an attractive replacement for the antiquated beauty of Gongtan, but nonetheless a much-needed jolt for a municipality suffering from regular power outages.Controversial waterworks are nothing new to Chongqing, the largest in
The first thing that flashes through the mind of a recently diagnosed cancer patient is something along the lines of, “I’m going to die now.” It’s sadly that simple, and it’s that simple because that is what the public has been told. The relationship between fear and cancer, however, must be understood more clearly.
Before we go further, two facts: one simple and one sad…
The simple fact is

There are days when you think things just can’t get any more ridiculous. That would not be in the world of advocacy groups. Webster defines advocate as “one that supports or promotes the interests of another”. Today one advocacy group advocated another advocacy group knowing full well that neither of them are doing a good job of advocacy for the groups the purport to be advocates for.
I have long railed on AARP for the way they mistreat their constituency when it comes to life insurance advice. AARP has been in bed with New York Life forever in an effective effort to sell poorly constructed, overpriced life insurance to old folks like us. I mean really!! If you are putting a product together to sell to people primarily in their 60’s, with today’s life expectancies really reaching into the mid 80’s, would you create the product so that it ends at age 80? That is AARP’s idea of good advice and it is New York Life’s idea of a cash cow.

Machines That Fix ThemselvesThere will come a time when computers and robots don't need humans to program them. For mechanical engineer Hod Lipson, that time is now. And it all starts with his four-legged starfish robot. Beginning with no idea of what it looks like, the starfish makes random motions and measures how it tilts. It then generates about a hundred different hypotheses about what its structure might be, moves itself again, collects more data to determine which models are potentially correct, and behaves accordingly. It continues this process of weeding out less-useful models until an accurate one is found and takes hold, a process inspired by Darwinian evolution. And if anything happens to it -- for example, it loses one of its legs or falls from a table -- it can then generate a new model to adapt to different circumstances, with no human assistance. Well beyond smart robots, this self-adapting technology could one day be used to erect buildings that can repair themselves,
They were simply a group of eccentric Christian believers ... the villagers assumed they had packed up and gone. In fact, the religious doomsday cult had taken up residence in a remote underground cave. They had decided to barricade themselves inside until May 2008 - the date when their spiritual leader told them the world was going to end.read more | digg story

Even if you’re not a car audio connoisseur, it’s easy to be impressed with a car stereo speaker while looking around in an expo or convention. They’re the first thing you’ll probably notice, they come in different colors, shapes and sizes. Those big throbbing concaves blaring incredibly low bass lines or cool little tweeters whistling out seething treble sounds. Car stereo speakers are interesting and very tempting to buy, especially the big loud ones. But big is not always the best. Each speaker has its own unique quality, intended use and price range. Some may also be better than others at certain things so it pays to investigate your type of car stereo amplifier or head unit before you finally decide on a car stereo speaker for your system. Here are some features to consider:Car stereo speakers are not all the same size and wattage, and this can cause a problem once you try to hook it up in your car. Know the specs of your system. Sort this out ahead of time, it will save

Sprint (S) took the first step to tuning around its annually depressing subscriber numbers, it will sell Google's (GOOG) Gphone.
It looks like sprint ands T-Mobile (T) will be the first two carriers to handle to new phone. The best part of the phone it that it will not be made by Google. Why is that good? "We've all heard that big things come in small packages. Well, in the small town of McMinnville, Tennessee, a group of visionary folks are planning something pretty big: a community-wide effort to develop a 3D model of their town in Google Earth -- the first of its kind in the state. The project, dubbed 3D Downtown, is being led by a non-profit organization called Main Street
It might have been in The Lord Of The Flies in which I read how society is described by some as being necessary to keep order. Some people fully believe that without society to keep us all in line, chaos will result. I actually think the opposite is true. I believe that society results from chaos. If there were no government and no rules, I think the most intelligent people would find it necessary, as we already have, to create a system of rules that when abided by, make things easier. Humans create structure where it is necessary, but because they want to.If chaos would truly be the outcome in the absence of societal structure, then that would mean society could never reform once anarchy sets in. And history has proven time and again that anarchy is always followed by a period of rebuilding, and a new book of rules.
Thomas Kirk has made a wonderful Real Estate Show to raise money for a charity he believes in. I especially like his Show because it walks us through the process of how his neighbors, the Johnsons, first became involved in the charity.
In the Details of his Show, Thomas tells how the Johnsons attended an Aaron Tippin concert. They saw him put together a bike on stage, then donate it to Toys for Tots. The idea hooked them, but good.
The wonderful thing about giving is that most people WANT to give, but sometimes they just need to be told HOW. The Johnsons saw this act of kindness and wanted to keep it going. When you view the Show, I think you’ll see they’re doing a fine job of it.
Thomas is helping to spread this news as well, through Real Estate Shows and the power of the internet. Online, there are less than six degrees of separation between us all. You can get to anyone and everyone, if only your message is one that people will want to spread. Thomas’ message is of hop

Earlier this week, I showed a few condos at Villa Regina to a lady who has owned a unit in the building since 1983. She and her husband purchased their condo in November of that year. She told me that for the first year and a half to two years only 25 condos were owned of the 208 total units. The bust had happened and nobody wanted to buy. The developer, Nicholas Morley, eventually went under and the building was later taken over by the FDIC. Nicholas Morley, was a big-time developer back then who was the equivalent of today’s Jorge Perez or Ugo Columbo.
She said that nobody would touch Villa Regina with a ten-foot pole for the first two years after she purchased because the building was either in receivership, meaning that it was undergoing foreclosure proceedings, or it had already been foreclosed upon. As a result, the common areas were under-maintained. The building didn’t have any security, air conditioning in the hallways, a concierge in the lobby nor valet se
A FEATURE in Microsoft Vista means that something as small as swapping the video card or updating a device driver can trigger a total Vista deactivation.According to APC mag, minor upgrades to your desktop will result in your PC going into "reduced functionality" mode, where you can't do anything but use the web browser for half an hour. You'll then need to reapply to Microsoft to get a new activation code.Hack, James Bannan noticed the flaw when he swapped over the graphics card on his Vista Ultimate box. A few days later he got a Windows Activation prompt and had to speak to a Microsoft customer service representative before he got all his functionality back and the feeling in his toes.Wondering why he got the shut down request, Bannon obtained some tools from Microsoft which listed all the hardware changes on that machine since activation. Vista thought his disk controller had changed, so the graphics card change was the final change which tripped deactivation. But Bannan had not ch
My hifi is always in radio mode when I come home since 5 seconds of radio wakes me up in the morning. I made the mistake today of not switching it immediately off as I usually do. I heard a song start with relentlessly predictable chord structures in the key of G major -- a very pop-friendly key. Turns out the predictable lyrics, annoyingly easy-to-right-and-perform song was a new track by boy band McFly, The Heart Never Lies. Now and again I wonder if pop music ever stops eating itself. Apparently not. This 3:28-minute song is a sign that musicians and talented writers everywhere are being shunned by groups of very low ability but well-matched producers. It's not that this is new news, of course. It's just adding more fuel to the fire that will hopefully, almost certainly, destroy the train wreck that is the current industry. Still, the 13-year old girls will like it and thankfully they're too young for their opinions to matter to anyone. By the time they grow up, the industry migh

District-based InPhonic said yesterday that it was considering selling itself and had brought in Wall Street restructuring specialist Lazard to help assess that and other options. At the same time, the company said its third-quarter results would be lower than forecast. The stock fell 60 percent.
InPhonic, an online seller of wireless products and services, also said it has terminated its chief operating officer, Brian Curran, and canceled a partnership it had announced just last month with Brightstar, a Miami-based inventory and distribution company that had planned to invest $5 million in the company.
Named the fastest-growing U.S. company by the Inc. 500 list five years after its founding in 1999, the company has stumbled over the past year.
Earlier this year, InPhonic restated its 2006 second- and third-quarter earnings, blaming a $5 million increase in its previously reported net loss on accounting errors caused by inexperienced employees.
In July, the company named a new chief f
Today the IPCC released its 4th installment of its report on global warming. It has found that only .12 percent of world GDP would be needed to stave off the harmful effects of climate change. Echoing the Stern Report it shows that the only thing we should be afraid of is doing nothing. The report focused on economic changes that need to be made, pointing out that emissions must start declining by the year 2015 to prevent the world’s temperature from rising more than 2 degrees Celsius over pre-industrialized temperatures. (a scenario that would be catastrophic)Read the summary for policy makers here docWhile some governments try to delay action, the switch to a cleaner and more efficient energy system is already underway, according to a new report from WWF.A new briefing from the global conservation organization, Stop Climate Change: It Is Possible highlights 15 ways in which people, business and governments work with WWF to reduce CO2 emissions and help slow global warming. The repor
Produced by Calvin Johnson, The Fruit That Ate Itself possesses a leaner and meaner sound than earlier Modest Mouse releases -- the emphasis here is less on noise than groove, and the spare, edgy approach of cuts like "Dirty Fingernails" and the title track recalls the goofy indie-funk of Dub Narcotic Sound System and other likeminded Johnson-helmed projects.

This is very strange news, indeed. Erica Sadun has received numerous reports from individuals who have jailbroken their iPod touch stating that, upon reboot, the device seems to automatically restore to a read only state. She has not jailbroken her personal iPod touch to confirm and suspects that it may simply be a case of human error.

Almost on a daily basis we hear about large organizations losing laptops or computer media with confidential customer or employee data. The companies are then forced to determine their risk and liability by confirming whether or not the data was encrypted.
The legal position is that encrypted data translates to no data loss¸ and the company is legally protected from the potential ramifications of losing a laptop or mobile media where the data could be easily extracted. What’s the first question the company’s lawyers will ask?Was it encrypted????
This SHOULD be an easy question to answer, but most of the disk encryption solutions out there provide little to no reporting functionality. Such information should be readily available to the right people in management positions at a company. Comprehensive reporting would also make it much easier to enforce encryption compliance within a company so there will be little to worry about when a laptop or usb drive is
