What is exactly happening in the Caucasus ?? What brought the Israelis to Georgia ??
We knew that the Israelis are so involved in the conflict in the Caucasus currently , we knew that from their famous security DEBAKE site that they are involved because of the oil , the oil pipeline which can be closed in any war that can happen in the middle East because when I look to the map ,I see that this pipeline will have to cross either Syria or Iraq and Jordan to reach Israel !! Israelis making it out in China – 360Quan and the Koolanoo group
Israeli newspapers are all over the success of the Israeli headed Koolanoo group in China with the third largest social website called 360Quan. Koolanoo, in case you were wondering, means “all of us” in Hebrew, and I believe the whole thing actually started out with a Jewish social network cloned into Chinese. How bizarre. 360Quan [...]

He's coming back to kill more Israelis
Today in Hizbanon: "We swear to God...to continue on your same path and not to retreat until we achieve the same stature that Allah bestowed on you," said Lebanon's longest-held prisoner in Israel, Samir Kuntar. He refered to Mughniyeh's "martyrdom." What is Kuntar talking about? Five Lebanese terrorists set free as part of a prisoner swap with Israel prayed Thursday at the

Israelis take a backseat to political parties
Olmert said in the government's defense that it had launched peace negotiations with both the Palestinian Authority, and Syria: "For eight or nine years there were no negotiations with them. Of course, we can drag it out for another 10 years." How many people will die in that ten years? How many Israelis will have their homes attacked in that ten years? Ehud Olmert would sign a deal wit

      THE DANCING ISRAELIS
Like most Americans, I was gripped by senses of profound shock, horror, revulsion, sadness, and rage as I watched the horror of September 11, 2001 unfolding live on my television screen. Watching the mass murder of thousands of innocent people live on television was the most upsetting experience of my life. How could any person of sound moral character not be enraged at witnessing this horrific

Afternoon Open Thread: Israelis' Diamond Day
This past Wednesday was Israeli Independence Day, the 60th, which makes it the diamond anniversary. Naturally, Palestinians saw little reason to celebrate, and they were not alone. Over 100 prominent British Jews issued a letter proclaiming "We're Not Celebrating Israel's Anniversary." From the letter: We cannot celebrate the birthday of a state founded on terrorism, massacres and the dispossession of another people from their land. We cannot celebrate the birthday of a state that even now engages in ethnic cleansing, that violates international law, that is inflicting a monstrous collective punishment on the civilian population of Gaza and that continues to deny to Palestinians their human rights and national aspirations. We will celebrate when Arab and Jew live as equals in a peaceful Mi

Israelis Claim Secret Agreement With U.S. - Americans Insist No Deal Made on Settlement Growth
A letter that President Bush personally delivered to then-Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon four years ago has emerged as a significant obstacle to the president's efforts to forge a peace deal between the Israelis and Palestinians during his last year in office. Ehud Olmert, the current Israeli prime minister, said this week that Bush's letter gave the Jewish state permission to expand the West Bank settlements that it hopes to retain in a final peace deal, even though Bush's peace plan officially calls for a freeze of Israeli settlements across Palestinian territories on the West Bank. In an interview this week, Sharon's chief of staff, Dov Weissglas, said Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice reaffirmed this understanding in a secret agreement reached between Israel and the Un

JERUSALEM — Israel agreed Sunday to remove about 50 roadblocks in the West Bank and promised Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who is visiting here, that it would upgrade checkpoints to reduce the waiting time for Palestinians who have been hampered in their efforts to go about their daily lives. Israelis embrace stronger shekel in contracts
Figures released by the central bank on Sunday showed that the share of new rental contracts denominated in dollars dropped in recent months, from about 68 percent in October to 62% in November, compared to about 85% of all contracts in January 2007 and 90% in 2005. The bank said homeowners were switching to shekel-linked leases due to the weakness and volatility of the dollar.Hanan Schlesinger, CEO of Anglo-Saxon real estate, told The Jerusalem Post last month that in the second half of 2007 about 75% of the agency's rental deals were fixed in shekels. "Assuming the dollar remains at current levels, I believe that within a year nearly all rental contracts will be denominated in the local currency," Schlesinger said.

Condi Rice continues to show why she's not a credible politician, by conning people assembled at UJC in Nashville. Israelis still more inclined to settlement, than settle.
In the run-up to peace negotiations in Annapolis later this month, Israelis continue to expand their settlements in the West Bank, an obvious sign of the good faith that will guarantee success of the talks. According to Peace Now there is continuing construction in 88 out of about 150 of the authorised settlements, in addition to the building of permanent structures in 34 unauthorised settlement outposts. What do settler leaders say about this? They express their pleasure about Peace Now’s report, thanking it for “documenting their endeavour.” But look on the bright side. When transfer does occur, inevitably, the Israeli homes constructed in the West Bank can be the quid pro quo for the homes stolen during the expulsion. The story is here: West Bank Settlements ‘Expanding’

Israelis And Palestinians: A Tale of Two Cultures
This was originally intended as a response to this post by Bozwell, but I thought it would make a good stand-alone op/ed piece. What intrigues me about the whole Palestine as "confiscated land" mantra is that it was a multi-lateral decision to do so; one of the first (if not the first) mandates of the then-newly formed UN. Prior to Palestinian land being Israeli land, it belonged to the British who wrested it from the Ottoman Turks in the aftermath of WWI. Today's Palestinians always speak of "their land" when it never was a sovereign nation. It was always owned by somebody else, and the people who call themselves Palestinians were the subjects of those foreign occupiers. And here's the big rub: The Palestinians for over a thousand years never seemed to care. It's only when that land was allocated to the Jews that they got their kababs in a twist. And to be certain, if the Palestinians had tried with the Turks the same militant terror tactics they now use in an attempt to establish

Fatah military wing calls for kidnapping Israelis
Gaza, April 16 (Xinhua) Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the military wing of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah movement Monday urged its members to kidnap Israelis to swap them for Palestinian prisoners. “This is an open call for all our fighters to focus on kidnapping Israeli soldiers and civilians,” al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades said in a statement to press. The statement held the “Israeli enemy” responsible for the failure of the release the Palestinian prisoners. Israel holds more than 10,000 Palestinians in jails and is expected to release some 1,300 of them as part of a prisoner exchange deal with captors of Israeli Corporal Gilad Shalit. Meanwhile, Fatah has criticized Shalit’s captors, including a military offshoot of Hamas, for not including a senior Fatah official on a list of prisoners they wanted to be freed which they delivered recently to Israel.
