I would appreciate if visitors could keep comments at least somewhat cerebral. Disagreeing with my blogging is absolutely no problem but random hate speech or comments that have nothing to do with the post is either irrelevant, illustrates cowardice, lowly behavior and/or shows a lack of utility. Essence magazine is officially a joke (and an unfunny one at that). Just in case you were already of the opinion the magazine had “joke/comical" tendencies, the magazine went on ahead and jumped the broom and made it official. In A dangerous detour John McWhorter presents an excellent commentary on the current Imus tizzy. He correctly points out that some African Americans focus on what can’t be solved at the expense of working towards remedying “big, chronic problems” that can be solved. True, Imus’ comments were out of line. But I’m far less concerned about what a radio shock jock says than I am about the truly serious issues that face so many American communities of any color or creed.
