Alcatel is turning heads (no pun intended) with their Playboy-branded handset 'OT-V770A'. The phone was introduced at the CTIA Wireless 2008. The phone comes in Gold, Pink, or Silver metallic trims and oozes with the Playboy confidence. Specs include 1.3 megapixel camera, media player, full-screen video playback, 10MB onboard memory, and microSD card slot. The Playboy logo and embossed metallic rear-panel add to the persona of the phone. Presumably limited edition, only 15 Alcatel Playboy phones were announced; no pricing was disclosed.
Nokia has announced a new GSM phone, the Nokia 6300i, ability to make both cellular and VoIP calls. The latter are possible over Wi-Fi, an option which may save money when in range of an open hotspot. The phone is also able to browse the web and download applications over Wi-Fi, and can store as many as 2,000 numbers in memory.

Panasonic is gearing up to intro new stuff at the NAB show this April and as a prelude, it's gone ahead and announced the AG-HMC150, an AVCHD SD card-based camcorder. Panasonic has also announced the reasonably priced pro HD options, which includes the HDV-based AG-HVX200. Besides borrowing the older, standard def AG-DVX100's design factor, the HMC150 will slot in a trio of new 1/3-inch CCDs with native 16:9 aspect ratios, and support all the various 1080 and 720 progressive and entwined options.
