By Kok Choon Kow Vista added support for IPv6, improved network protocols for faster detection and transfer. In theory these nice features should take your Internet connection to the next level! Just like before, Vista slows down everything with lots of extra overheads. In this article, I will show you how to speed up your connection by turning off those features.Step #1 - Turn Off Unneeded Network Protocol.Try to turn off unneeded protocol such as IPv6, Qos Packet Scheduler, File and Printer Sharing, Link-Layer Topology.Step #2 - Use Static IP.Try to use static IP, assign an IP to your computer, don't rely on DHCP server to assign IP for you.Step #3 - Use OpenDNS.Replace your ISP DNS server with OpenDNS, or any faster DNS server (You need to try them before you know).Go to Control Panel -
There are mainly four methods by which you can connect your home PC to the internet which are:1.Dial-up:2.Cable:Speed= 4 to 6 Mbps3.DSL:Speed= 768kbps to 1.5Mbps4.IoS(Internet over Satelite):Dial up is the easiest way to connect to the internet which requires just your phone line. In this while you are connected to the internet you can use you phone line to talk. The dial up speed to the internet is 54kbps theoretically. The next method to connect to the internet would be to use the cable line that is your television cable line. It offers more bandwidth hence more speed connection to the internet. The theoretical speed is 4 to 6 Mbps. It offers the fastest internet c

If you haven't visited a site in a month it's not important.Create categories and organize the list of bookmarks after you've eliminated all those links you don't need. Do not create a miscellaneous category. Catch-all categories do exactly that and soon become difficult to use.2. Delete programs you don't use. Why delete them when you have plenty of space on the drive? Because it makes things like Scandisk and Defrag run faster. It might not make your PC run any smoother, but you'll feel good knowing you aren't wasting space.3. Unplug your PC, take the cover off and clean out the dust. Invest in some canned air.
