LGC, a telecommunications services company, today announced it's launching Mani Minutes (www.manifone.com) service in the United States and Canada that will allow consumers to make 4-6 cents per minute overseas calls to anyone that has a cell phone.  You read it correctly, 4 cents per minute.Mani Minutes will give its customers, a set of US-based phone numbers, free of charge, that they can permanently assign to their international contacts. So, someone living in New York will be able to call a friend living in France on a 718 New York numbe; using the inclusive free minutes of his cell phone plan. For the international part of the call, Manifone will charge a small per minute fee, which to most destinations would be 4-6 cents a minute. Of course Mani Minutes allows placing calls to non-registered destinations as well, at the same rates.
