The open-interest position that is reported each day represents the increase or decrease in the number of contracts for that day, and it is shown as a positive or negative number. An increase in open interest along with an increase in price is said to confirm an upward trend. Similarly, an increase in open interest along with a decrease in price confirms a downward trend. An increase or decrease in prices while open interest remains flat or declining may indicate a possible trend reversal.   Rules of Open Interest   If prices are rising and open interest is increasing at a rate faster than its five-year seasonal average, this is a bullish sign. Price rises were widespread, in an environment of limited capacity and earlier strong growth in demand. In order to reduce inflation over time, the RBA believes growth in aggregate demand needs to be significantly slower than it was in 2007. Evidence is accumulating that this is occurring. Indicators of household spending have recorded subdued outcomes over recent months, and demand for credit by both households and businesses has weakened. As a result

India interest rate hike uncertain; high inflation, slow growth seen key
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is likely to unveil Tuesday a slew of measures to tackle inflationary pressures and the economic slowdown in its annual monetary policy report for 2008-2009.India's wholesale price index (WPI), the most widely watched indicator for gauging inflationary trends, was at 7.33 percent on April 12, almost 200 basis points higher than the 5 percent limit set by the central bank, due to higher food and fuel prices. Most economists feel that the central bank will leave the bank rate and cash reserve ratio (CRR) untouched, but will raise the repo rate and reverse repo rate to suck liquidity from the banking system. The central bank hiked the CRR by 50 basis points on April 17 to be implemented in two stages on April 26 and May 10, in order to drain about 185 billion rup

Euro reversed gains after less hawkish interest rate remarks from ECB officials
The Euro made its biggest drop against the Dollar in the past three weeks on Wednesday as Euro zone PMI dropped to an almost three-year low in April. Another report showed German manufacturing activity also declined. Demand for the European currency slid further after comments by a member of European Central Bank Governing Council, Christian Noyer, put down speculation of further interest rate increases by the bank. The ECB is expected to keep its key interest rate on hold at 4%, while the US Federal Reserve is expected to lower its benchmark from 2.25% later this month. The Euro’s record high on Tuesday was boosted by hawkish remarks from ECB's Noyer's that the central bank will do what is needed to being inflation back to target. Home Mortgage Interest Rates And Home Mortgage Scams
The most important factor you should consider when looking for a home mortgage is your interest rate. Getting even a slightly lower interest rate on your house mortgage can save you tens of thousands of dollars over the life of your mortgage. The interest rate on your native mortgage, in fact, can actually have you paying twice for your home what it actually sold for by the time the mortgage is paid off in twenty or thirty years. Big Hurt Drawing Interest From A's
Frank Thomas, at least in my opinion, still has some baseball left in him - this despite Thomas having notoriously slow Aprils lately. Apparently, at least one other American League team agrees; according to Buster Olney of ESPN The Magazine, the Oakland Athletics are debating internally as to whether they will sign Thomas to a contract - probably within the next 48 hours. Prior to his release from the Toronto Blue Jays, Thomas was batting only .167 in 60 at-bats, prompting talent evaluators to question whether Thomas' bat speed has regressed to the point of no return. While the A's are tied for first in the AL West, they are debating whether Thomas is worth the trouble; the A's want to ensure that their young base of core players continue getting their at-bats. But on the flip-side, they'r

Certificate of Deposit Interest Rates - Things You Should Know
The most important aspect of a certificate of deposit (CD) is the interest rate. After all, it would not make any sense to invest your money into something that has no return associated with it. It is important to know as much as possible about how interest rates work before you purchase a CD. The interest rate that you get when you purchase a CD generally depends on several factors such as the amount you invest, the length of time you invest for, and the issuing financial institution that you are dealing with.
