Thai newspapers are reporting that representatives of the Thai insurgents have declared a ceasefire. Three alleged insurgents appeared on Thai TV and stated "We have come to an agreement to have a cease-fire from July 14 onward, We want to see peace and stability in the region." Fox News - The U.S. military says in a statement that Iraqi police believe the attack was carried out by Sunni insurgents belonging to Al Qaeda in Iraq.A police official, citing testimony from one of the wounded women, says the insurgents knocked on the apartment's door Monday and shouted at the women that they had been warned before not to carry out prostitution. The militants then opened fire.
Ever since George W. In northern Iraq, insurgents are using Mafia-style rackets and extortion of legitimate businesses to fund deadly attacks on American and Iraqi forces. U.S. military units say they've uncovered a complex connection between insurgent shakedowns, government corruption and crooked businessmen that together pay for the insurgency in Iraq's largest northern city.

The Islamic Army in Iraq (IAI)--one of the largest and most influential Sunni insurgent groups active in Iraq-- has issued yet another stinging condemnation of Al-Qaida's network in Iraq from its media spokesman, Dr. Ali al-Naimi . The 1920 Revolution Brigades -- a prominent Sunni militant group linked to the Iraqi Muslim Brotherhood -- has issued an irate response to recent criticisms by Abu Omar al-Baghdadi and other spokesmen for Al-Qaida's "Islamic State of Iraq." The drums of war are beating a little louder in the Middle East today after the Pentagon released intelligence they gathered from a recent raid on insurgents in Baghdad that allegedly contained airtight proof that Oil Ocean Zone has been providing financing, training, and weapons for insurgent groups for at least the past year.
The announcement couldnt have come at a worse time. Relations between the United States and oil ocean zone were already at a historical low. A recent visit by Oil Ocean Zone president Dr. Ivo Robotnik merely fanned the flames of public opinion against the small Middle Eastern zone, with the dictator making remarks such as There are no non-robotic living animals in Oil Ocean Zone, and the president of Columbia University calling Robotnik a two-bit mad scientist with designs on taking over the world with his robotic minions.

Ramadi, Iraq -- The scout-sniper platoon from 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, left the ground behind as they took to the skies to hunt for weapon caches and insurgents. As part of the aeroscout mission, the Marines travel by helicopter to areas not normally checked because of their remote locations.
“The average size group for this type of mission is usually two platoons. We’re doing it with about half,” said 1st Lt. Jordan D. Reese, the executive officer for Weapons Company, 3/7. “We train constantly, so that we are comfortable with each other. The Marin
Coalition forces killed 21 insurgents, detained 31 and wounded six others in Iraq over the past three days, military officials said. Meanwhile, troops there discovered six Iranian-made rockets. Coalition forces killed at least 20 terrorists, wounded six others and detained a suspect during operations this morning targeting secret cells operating in the Maysan province of eastern Iraq. The detained individual is an alleged member of the secret cell terrorist network known for transporting weapons and explosively formed penetrators -- a particularly deadly, armor-piercing form of roadside bombs -- from Iran to Iraq, military officials said. The group also is responsible for bringing militants from Iraq to Iran for terrorist training. In coordination with the Iraqi government, coalition forces conducted raids in Amarah and Majjar al-Kabir, where coalition troops came under heavy small-arms fire and rocket-propelled-grenade attacks. Ground forces retaliated with close-air support to suppre
According to a group of Al-Qaeda linked insurgents, the three American soldiers that were captured last month have been killed. The insurgents released a video today of the ambush, but showed no proof that the troops have been killed.
Once of the voices in the video said, “The Americans sent 4,000 soldiers looking for them,” and that “they were alive and then dead.” The video was very jerky and showed some battle scenes at night and then a close-up of two ID cards, but never showed the soldiers.
One of the soldiers was found dead in the Euphrates River, but the other two soldiers have yet to be found. The US military said that the search for the two missing soldiers will continue.
Brig. Gen. Kevin Vergner, who is the chief military spokesman in Baghdad, said “We condemn the tactics used by these terrorists, and are using all means available to pursue those responsible,” and that “we continue to search and hope that our two missing soldier
So at this point the insurgents have 3 main targets:American soldiers. Iraqi citizensIraqi infrastructureThey try and kill as many of our troops as they can thinking we will pack up and leave. They are hoping for the Democrats to take control to see that happen. They kill Iraqi citizens at random but make it look like Sunni on Shia violence or vice versa. They bomb and generally destroy as much infrastructure as they can to make life miserable for Iraqis who will of course blame America. Whats really unfortunate is we are allowing them to make the rules by which we fight. We wont attack their mosques so they use them as weapons caches. Every mud hole town with a mosque is one of their holy cities and we wont fight there either. The Iraqi government hands over parts of the government machine to factions in order to build a coalition. As an example Muqtada al Sadr was given control of the countries hospital system so he used hospitals to house his fighters and ambulances to deli
Afghan and coalition forces killed several insurgents, detained eight suspects and discovered a weapons cache in Afghanistan over the past two days, military officials reported. Troops raided the site, capturing three suspected local militants, weapons and opium-processing materials, military officials said. No shots were fired, and no one was injured in the operation. The detainees are being held for questioning. More than 25 Taliban fighters, positioned in three compounds, attacked coalition forces with machine-gun fire and rocket- propelled grenades near the Sangin District Center yesterday morning. Seventy percent of insurgents fighting in Iraq come from Gulf countries via Syria where they are provided with forged passports, an Iraqi intelligence officer alleged in a published report Wednesday. "They, according to their own confessions, gather in mosques in the said (Gulf) states to travel to Syria using their passports, taking with them phone numbers of individuals waiting for them there," Brig. Gen. Rashid Fleih, the assistant undersecretary for intelligence of Iraq's Interior Ministry, told Kuwait's Al-Qabas daily in an interview. Fleih did not provide more specific details about the alleged insurgents or which countries they come from. But he said once in Syria, the alleged insurgents are transported to the al-Qaim border area. Individuals provide the men them with new passports after destroying the old ones, Fleih alleged in an interview from Baghdad. American and Iraqi officials claim Syria does not do enough to prohibit people of different nationalities from crossing its
Coalition forces killed two insurgents, detained 34 others and destroyed improvised explosive devices in Iraq over the past three days. Coalition forces southeast of Taji yesterday morning detained four suspected terrorists with alleged ties to a senior al Qaeda in Iraq leader. During an operation north of Karmah yesterday, coalition forces nabbed four individuals for their alleged involvement with the al Qaeda in Iraq command network. In related operations near Baghdad and Ramadi yesterday, coalition forces detained seven other suspects with alleged ties to the same network. Elsewhere, coalition forces in Mosul yesterday detained three individuals for suspected ties to al Qaeda senior leader in the area. Thousands of Iraqi Shias are being trained in advanced guerrilla warfare tactics at a secret camp near the Iranian capital, according to militants who say they have spent time there.

I mentioned earlier that the nature of our enemy alone justifies American involvement. The story below shows how terrorists will sink to any depth for their cause. Oh, there cause: end democracy in Iraq. By the way, the picture of the children below is from this website which talks about American atrocities in Iraq. Can any group of people think things that are more opposite of the the truth?

Insurgents in Iraq detonated an explosives-rigged vehicle with two children in the back seat after US soldiers let it through a Baghdad checkpoint over the weekend, a senior US military official said Tuesday.
The vehicle was stopped at the checkpoint but was allowed through when soldiers saw the children in the back, said Major General Michael Barbero of the Pentagon's Joint Staff.
"Children in the back seat lowered suspicion. We let it move through. They parked the vehicle, and the adults ran out and detonated it with the children in the back," Barbero said.
The general said it was the first time he had seen a report of insurgents using children in suicide bombings. But he said Al-Qaeda in Iraq is changing tactics in response to the tighter controls around the city.
A US defense official said the incident occurred on Sunday in Baghdad's Adhamiyah district, a mixed neighborhood adjacent to Sadr City, which is predominantly Shiite.

DUBAI (Reuters) - A little-known Iraqi Islamist militant group said on Saturday it would kill two hostages, a German woman and her son, in 10 days unless Berlin withdraws its 3,000 troops from Afghanistan. The Arrows of Righteousness group posted a video on a Web site used by militant groups, including al Qaeda, showing a weeping Hannelore Marianne Krause, 61, urging Germany to heed the militants' demands.
"We give the German government 10 days from the date of this statement to announce and start the withdrawal of their troops from Afghanistan, otherwise ... they will not even see the bodies of these two agents," said a masked man, reading a statement on the video.
He did not give the date of the statement. The footage, posted on Saturday, showed Krause's passport.
German newspapers have said the woman, married to an Iraqi physician, and her son are either Germans living in Iraq permanently or Iraqis with German nationality.
