Hamdan, a 37-year old Yemeni national, will be the first “enemy combatant” in the so-called war on terror waged by the United States to face the military tribunal est

      Injunction scans
photo: civic injunction by jbartokI believe it was Timothy Gallwey, the father of executive coaching who originally said'performance equals potential minus interference.'He first used this idea in a sporting context, especially with reference to athlete's doubts, distractions and negative internal dialogue. But for the purpose of this article I want to apply this principle not so much to individual performances, but to the larger scope of what people decide to perform in.People usually perform the best when they have a maximum of enthusiasm. They also seem more dynamic, attractive and convincing to others when they are enthusiastic. Naturally I can think of exceptions to this. Enthusiasm is not a substitute for skill. But it often precedes and leads to skill.Children often show great capacity for enthusiasm. At least when they are left to play. Adults often show less enthusiasm. AT&T asks judge for injunction, right to use logos
BRISTOL, Tenn. - As expected, AT&T has asked U.S. District Court Judge Marvin Shoob to issue another injunction to allow its logos on the No. 31 Richard Childress Racing car. The motion was filed in the Atlanta court Friday afternoon. A hearing isn't expected until the week of Sept. 10 at the earliest. Shoob granted AT&T's injunction request May 18 on breach-of-contract grounds, but the U.S. 11th Circuit Court of Appeals overturned the decision Aug. 13. Now AT&T is asking for another injunction on the basis of other legal arguments, focusing on the theory that a company has been the victim of an injustice by the promises of another company. At issue is a June 2003 meeting between NASCAR and Cingular officials concerning Nextel becoming the primary sponsor of the Cup Series in 2004. AT&T and Cingular were involved in a merger in December 2006, and NASCAR will not allow AT&T's logo on the Jeff Burton car. "NASCAR promised that [AT&T] could continue to sponsor the #31 Car; NASCAR shoul

Lawyers for Amaru Entertainment and Afeni Shakur, co-administrator of the Tupac Shakur Estate, filed for an injunction against Death Row Records, Inc. and R. Todd Neilson, as Chapter 11 Trustee, to prohibit the inclusion of Tupac Shakur’s unreleased tracks, compositions or sound recordings in the auction of Death Row Records. The adversary complaint was filed in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California in Los Angeles on July 20, 2007. The injunction sought to restrain the sale of certain assets belonging to the Tupac Estate which are being touted as part of the Death Row Records bankruptcy assets. With closed bidding ending Friday, July 20, 2007 lawyers for the Tupac Estate sought full disclosure by the Bankruptcy Trustee’s counsel that the unreleased master recordings in question were not part of the sale. In actuality, the recordings should have been turned over to the Tupac Shakur Estate in 1997, pursuant to a settlement agreement reached

      Dodgy Peerages Injunction: Reasons Revealed
Last Friday, The Attorney General, Lord Goldsmith (who is an old friend of Prime Minister Tony Blair) was granted an injunction against the BBC, preventing it from broadcasting information it had about the police investigation into the alleged selling of honours by New Labour in exchange for donations to the party’s coffers. The Guardian reports that the police requested the gagging order because they are pursuing a line of enquiry which links Lord Levy (Lord Cashpoint, Tony Blair’s fundraiser and unofficial envoy to Israel) and Ruth Turner, Tony Blair’s director of external relations, or so-called “Gatekeeper”. Both Lord Levy and Ruth Turner have been arrested by police in the past on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. They each deny any wrongdoing and if the offence should be proved, it could carry a custodial sentence. It seems that there may have been communications between Turner and Levy which could be construed as seeking to alter evide
