The major flu shot ingredients are dead influenza viruses. There may be any number of different flu viruses circulating at any one time, but pharmaceutical companies only choose three as annual flu shot ingredients. Even if you take an annual flu shot, you could still contract another flu virus and still come down with the flu. So, it is still important to protect your immune system and practice good health habits. Common flu vaccine side effects include body aches, low grade fever and soreness at the point of injection. There are some rare, but serious flu vaccine side effects that concern many people. In addition to the major flu shot ingredients, pharmaceutical companies add preservatives. The first thing you must do whenever you buy deodorant or any product that goes on your skin or in your body is to read the ingredients. They’re usually in very tiny print on the back of the label. If you have trouble reading small print, carry a magnifying glass around with you so you can read before you buy. This is critical because what you put on your skin can be absorbed directly into your bloodstream. And harmful ingredients in your blood can have potentially deadly effects on your body. Here are 7 ingredients to avoid when choosing your deodorant:Aluminum chlorohydrate, aluminum zirconium tetrachlorohydrex gly or any aluminum compounds. Aluminum is absorbed through the skin and accumulates in the body. It has been suggested that there is an association between aluminum and Alzheime

What drives women crazy? What makes men burn with tremendous confidence? What makes both of them satisfied in bed? Preparations have been going on for a couple of months in the form of lists. But with less than a week to go until Lilly and Amy’s second birthday, nearly everything is in place for a memorable party. As always, Emma is the project manager in these affairs. To ensure that your composition is an effective one, you must be well versed with the key requirements crucial to its success: useful categories, a thesis statement and specific examples.CategoriesThis may be the most important ingredient in your composition. The rule of the thumb is that too little and too much are both unadvisable. Having too little components in your categories will make your discussion insufficient while having too much will make your essay too broad to be useful. But the more important issue is the quality (more than that of the quantity) of your categories. Make sure that they are relevant and encompassing. You don't want to include anything useless much as you don't want to leave out anything useful.Thesis StatementThe key to ensuring that all your categories are rel

Almost everyday, we see the images dog food manufacturers broadcasted through TV, newspaper and magazine advertisements extolling the virtues of buying their brands of dog food. Some dog food companies want us to believe their dog food brands can provide all the nutrition our companion will ever need. That is the fiction concocted by many commercial dog food companies and nothing can be further from the truth!
In fact, we may be feeding our dogs contaminated dog food, loaded with slaughterhouse waste, toxic materials, junk fillers, preservatives, additives, heavy metals , pesticides, herbicides and other harmful chemicals. Just look at the frequent high number of dog food recalls. And guess what, your pet dog is not getting the necessary healthy animal fatty acids, vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates and fiber it needs to live longer.
The U.S pet food industry is a $15 billion a year business and the top pet food manufacturers are owned by multinational companies. Some of these companie
Chris Bowers of Open Left recently explored some of the issues raised by what he (and I) see as the failure of Obama’s candidacy thus far. Obama’s candidacy attracted Bowers’ interest as early as 2004. In Obama, Bowers saw hope for achieving a “winning progressive coalition.” Composed of whom, you ask?
Its two largest demographic groups would be people of color and whites who do not self-identify as Christian.
It’s funny how strongly people who share the same basic political vision can disagree about how to achieve that vision. Because although I think “progressive” means essentially the same thing for me and the writers of Open Left, I think Bowers is flat-out wrong on the tactical level. I also think he fails to notice the one redeeming virtue of Obama’s campaign: Obama has begun demonstrating how progressives can effectively reclaim religious language while still sounding authentic.
Let’s look at tactics first. What do non-

By: Deon Melchior A good piece of advice when buying deodorant or other products that go on your skin is to read carefully the ingredients. All the information you need is place on a print label placed on the back of the product. Usually it is written with small fonts, so, if you have trouble reading it, you should carry a magnifying glass with you so you can read the label. It is very important to know the ingredients of your deodorant, as everything that goes to your skin enters your bloodstream with significant effect on your general health. Seven ingredients that must not be in your deodorant:First, your deodorant should not be made of aluminum chlorohydrate, aluminum zirconium tetrachlorohydrex gly or any aluminum compounds. If it enters your blood, aluminum can be absorbed and accumulated in the body. According to some research there may be an association between aluminum and Alzheimer’s disease. If you read any of the following components on your deodorant label, do not buy it:
We are all in a hurry. We live busy lifestyles, often juggling our careers, our families and our relationships. It is no wonder that many of us resort to ready meals and takeaways. We know that they are not exactly healthy, but they are fast, and fast is good. Spending hours in the kitchen after a long day at work is not a very appealing image. It’s no secret that cooking with fresh ingredients is a lot healthier for you. There are no added preservatives or other unknown names on the wrapper with lots of numbers attached to it. There’s less salt, less sugar and less fat. And let’s not forget that fresh food tastes better. You don’t have to be a Jamie Oliver or Nigella Lawson to be able to cook. Nor do you have to spend many hours in the kitchen. Adding a salad to your meal only takes a few minutes – the time it takes to wash and slice a lettuce, some onion, pepper, tomato or whatever you prefer. Mix it all together and you have something fresh and healthy that night. If you pla

Known commonly as tauhu or tofu, bean curd is made by curdling soy milk. As bean curd is rich in protein, it can be used in a variety of recipes to partially replace either meat or dairy products. As calcium sulphate is commonly used as a curdling agent, bean curd is also good source of calcium.
Bean sprouts are low in fat and cholesterol. But they are high in fibre, protein, enzymes and vitamins A, B complex and C.
Regular intake of plant-based protein foods like bean curd, bean sprouts and other soy products provides the body with beneficial minerals, vitamins and fibre. Numerous studies suggest that regular consumption of plant-based protein foods reduces a person’s risk of diseases such as cancer, heart problems and stroke.
Here’s some interesting facts about cucumbers-they are believed to have originated in India and are one of the oldest cultivated vegetables (fruits technically) on earth. It was cultivated around 8000 B.C.!

I’ve been noticing an increase in the number of TV shows about artificial colourings, flavours and preservatives (aka E numbers) in children’s food. One show was about children going on a “War Time” diet whilst others simply were complaining about E numbers in general.
The one thing that strikes me about all of these shows is how parents want to blame everyone else for these foods except themselves. Often to demonstrate the problem they would show huge amounts of “kids” foods laid out on a table. There would be fairy cakes, sweets, jelly beans, cola and all sorts of other junk.
The parents would then be shown the foods and be told about all the bad stuff in it. I find it difficult to believe it when the parents turn round and say they didn’t realize the food is unhealthy.
C’mon, if something is fluorescent pink it’s hardly going to be healthy is it??!!
Of course it’s the supermarkets that get the blame for it all. I&rsq

The ingredient found in almost all Thai dishes and every region of the country is nam pla (Thai น้ำปลา), a very aromatic and strong tasting fish sauce. Shrimp paste, a combination of ground shrimp and salt, is also extensively used.Thai dishes in the Central and Southern regions use a wide variety of leaves rarely found in the West, such as kaffir lime leaves (Thai ใบมะกรูด). The characteristic flavour of kaffir lime leaves' appears in nearly every Thai soup (e.g., the hot and sour Tom yam) or curry from those areas. It is frequently combined with garlic, galangal, lemon grass, turmeric and/or fingerroot, blended together with liberal amounts of various chillies to make curry paste. Fresh Thai basil is also used to add fragrance in certain dishes such as Green curry. Other typical ingredients include the small green Thai eggplants, tamarind, palm and coconut sugars, lime juice, and coconut milk. A variety of chilies and spicy elements are found in most Thai

This is the same fish balls noodles that I had always eaten with my husband at Woodgrove. However, after the GST increase on 1st July 2007, the fish balls are not the same anymore. If you compared this fish balls to those I had taken some time earlier, at Good Food Ends With Good Talk, one of my other blog — Best Fish Balls Noodles, you will see that the fish balls are smaller. You cannot taste the fish balls. Let me tell you the difference. The fish balls taste different, not as nice as before. Before the GST, the fish balls are bigger and tastier. Now, the fish balls are smaller, softer, not much of taste — don’t taste like fish balls even, taste more flour balls than fish balls. I suppose they had put more flour, say 70% flour as compared to the amount of fish, 30%. Of course all other ingredients were adjusted according too — the salt, MSG, flavouring, soy sauce, etc etc. Their price remains the same S$2.50 per bowl of fish balls noodle. Ho

Alongside the manicures, waxing, fake tans and holistic therapies such as hopi-ear candles, Reiki and reflexology on offer at Bewitching Beauty in Glasgow's south side, Pauline Reid, practising witch and high priestess of the city's Hearth Coven, offers clients a spell clinic.
In establishing her beauty salon, Reid, originally from Ayrshire, is following a career path very much in the witching tradition: one that dates back hundreds of years to when wise women, learned in herbs and the powers of nature, first started to offer poultices and potions to tackle problems - all wrapped up in a tidy little spell.
