IT stocks jumped more than 5% on Tuesday following Infosys Technologies (Infosys), India`s second biggest software exporter reported a 9.17% rise in consolidated net profit and expects growth of 16.3% - 18.3% in consolidated earnings in financial year 2008-09.Shares of Infosys jumped Rs 88.55, or 6.23%, to trade at Rs 1,511, while BSE IT index surged 201.52 points, or 5.51%, to trade at 3,860.90. (2.59 p.m.)Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the nation`s no. 1 software exporter jumped 7.36% while Wipro, India`s third largest software exporter surged 5.09% on Tuesday on expectation of better financial performace. This is kind of worst nightmare of Infosys stock holders but one may able to accumulate the blue chip at throw away price between a range which may extend between 1670-1400.
The scrip of Infosys has given negative returns close to 11% on year to year basis.

Some market experts have given a target of Rs 2300 for Infosys. What becomes of this stock in the short term will become clear tomorrow when Infosys comes out with its quarterly results. Technology sector is looking quite positive in general, more so becase almost all of them had hit their 52 week lows. I personally like Satyam quite a lot. Tomorrow Infosys is going to come out with Results and lot of expectations are there.Market expectations are that Infosys sales will be up around 8 to 10% and profit around 2%. The key is the guidance revision. FY08 Guidance for EPS was around 80. If Infy can up this to 83 or 84 then market will be pretty pleased with this and Infy can jump another 100 to 200 Rs on account of this.If the results are not good and guidance is around 81, stock may react sharply as it has run up considerably. Markets will also depend on Infosys results and usually Infy delivers good numbers in Q2 which is a strong quarter.Watch out for Infy results.

Even though they still get million of resumes they don't get the best talent in India which goes to the higher salary paying startups and Multinationals and so they are left to fight the battle .Now they are adopting the same strategy in internationallly by hiring people with no software skills thus available at low costs and then training them and who will jump the ship when they get a better offer still it is a good short term strategy that will work and help them fight competition. Thiruvananthapuram, May 19 (IANS) India’s IT major Infosys Technologies Ltd Saturday began construction of its first campus in Kerala, apart from a leases facility here, with plans to invest Rs.3.06 billion (nearly $75 million) for expansion in the state.
The ground-breaking ceremony for the new campus here was performed in the presence of Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan.
Infosys co-founder and board member K. Dinesh said: “We have plans to invest Rs.306 crore and set up a state-of-the-art campus, which would include facilities for work and recreation for our employees. We expect to create 8,000 seats at this centre over the next few years.”
The firm has been operating in the state out of a leased facility in the Technopark campus since 2004.
The leased unit, set up with an investment of Rs.300 million, has a capacity of 1,100 seats.
With the completion of its own new campus coming up near Technopark, Infosys will have two full-fledged operations in the city.

My life in Infosys started with my joining on 7th Nov 2005. First few days were soft skills training including induction program in which we were told what to do and what not to do in infy. First few days were enjoyment and we didnt know it was the begining of tough time ahead.From the second week onwards the technical training started and it was called the generic training with assignments each day and tests every 3-4 days. First few days, it was difficult to acustom to the new culture and area. But within a few days, we were into the new culture of doing assignments daily. With assignments and tests life was becoming hectic. First major exam which is called the COMPRE was nearing. We took the compre on 26th of Dec 2005 with 2 exams morning and afternoon. New year was nearing and so was the inaugration of multiplex in Mysore campus.
