Census inaccuracy is definitely out of question, since the gap between 22,000,000 and 240,000,000 is definitely a large one. So, why is there such a large gap? Indonesian consumer demand to support economy against global slowdown - IMF
Strong domestic consumer demand is expected to drive Indonesia's economy this year and steer it away from the worst impact of a global economic slowdown, an official of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said on Wednesday. The economy has also become more resilient towards external financial instability, given its higher foreign exchange reserves and a declining external debt ratio to gross domestic product, he said. Indonesian state budget safe until oil price reaches $125
The 2008 state budget will withstand heavy pressure from skyrocketing oil prices until the Indonesian Crude Price (ICP) averages 125 US dollars per barrel, The Jakarta Post quoted a senior official as reporting on Friday. The government did not need to worry about plugging the swollen fuel subsidy because it was still expecting to enjoy a surplus from oil price hikes at 125 dollars a barrel, director general of oil and gas at the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry, Luluk Sumiarso, said, according to the newspaper. ICP is the country's oil price benchmark used for oil transactions and state budget assumptions. The ICP is usually slightly lower than the global price of oil. Indonesian Bond Yield Declines Most in 2 1/2 Years on Funding
Indonesian government bonds rose, with the yield on the 10-year note dropping the most in 2 1/2 years, after the government sourced a loan from Japan to help fund its budget shortfall. The yield declined 0.53 percentage point, the most since September 2005, on speculation the nation will allow fuel retailers to increase prices to consumers as record oil costs put pressure on dollar demand and the government's finances. Indonesia's debt rating may improve should the country reduce oil subsidies, Standard & Poor's said today. ``Bond prices are going up because they're finding other means of financing,'' said Dastin Mudijana, assistant vice president of fixed income at Bank Danamon Indonesia in Jakarta. ``Some offshore accounts came in and bought some bonds.''

But far from being hard and brittle like glass, the bodies of these fist-sized fish are soft and pliable enough to slip and slide into narrow crevices of coral reefs.
