2008 Chevrolet Impala - What’s new, trim levels, optional equipment, and safety info for the 2008 Chevrolet Impala
Chevrolet is still building a classic American family sedan in the Impala. The current Impala was introduced in 2005 as a heavily refreshed version of the car that launched in 2000. The front-drive Impala offers a comfortable and spacious interior, a luggage-swallowing trunk, and a quiet, unremarkable over-the-road demeanor. Although the redesign for 2005 greatly improved the interior, the Impala’s cabin materials still pale next to those of the Honda Accord, Toyota Avalon, and Hyundai Azera. Three engines are offered in the Impala: a 3.5-liter V-6 with 211 horsepower, a 3.9-liter V-6 with 233 horsepower, and a 5.3-liter V-8 with 303 horsepower. The 3.5-liter offers optional E85 (85-percent ethanol, 15-percent gasoline) capability; the other engines come standard with E85 capability. A f

      Introducing: Chevrolet Impala E85
The Chevrolet Impala is one of America's best-selling family sedans. After close to 50 years on the U.S. highways and byways, this car continues to improve with every generation. And on all fronts: inside, outside, and under the hood. For 2008, Chevy has made a solid commitment to the Impala’s flex-fuel capabilities. Unlike other E85 offerings, the Impala is ethanol-compatible at virtually all trim-levels and engine types. This means the LS, LT, and LTZ models are all flex-fuel. Also, this year, the larger 3.9-liter V6 joins the base 3.5-liter V6 as a flex-fuel engine offering. Only the SS model of the Impala strictly runs on straight gasoline. For advocates of E85, the Impala is one of the front-running flagships in the alternative fuel brigade. The Impala earns big points for its powerfu

      Impala - Teenage Tupelo [1999]
Impala was formed in Memphis, TN in the early 1990s. Their first long player, El Rancho Reverbo, was co-produced by the legendary Roland Janes (Jerry Lee Lewis' guitar player and session player at Sun Records) at Sam Phillips Recording Service. After receiving rave reviews and gaining exposure playing one-niters across the South East, Impala was picked up by West Coast label, Estrus Records. The b

      Walking with Impala
It’s only when you go on a walking safari that you discover the biggest secret of the African bush - it’s littered with poop. Rhino droppings, elephant dung, lion spore, hyena muck and steaming minefields created by a herd of twitchy zebra all lie in wait for the unwary walker. (more…) Share This Article

800 HP, 25 MPG and zero fossil fuels in a 65 Impala SS
I just saw a re-run of MTV’s Pimp My Ride. Let me tell you, I’m pretty impressed. I used to love this show, but then I got a little tired of these guys seeing how many monitors they could fit in a car. This episode, however, was a bit different. Instead of just dubs and 20 million video monitors, there was dubs, 20 million video monitors, and an 800 horsepower engine with 1400 lb-ft of torque that gets 25 MPG in a 1965 Impala SS. This engine pushed the heavy Impala to a 0-60 time of around 3.5 seconds. That’s gol-darned fast, son. The kicker? All this was done using zero fossil fuels. These amazing numbers were reached by using a turbocharged Chevy Duramax diesel engine with a few standard diesel go-fast goodies backed by an Allison tranny and a Currie rear end. All this was done specifically for the Impala to use 100% biodiesel (B100) as it’s fuel. All of this was done by MTV as part of their Break the Addiction campaign for Earth Day. In addition to Xzibit, M

800hp biodiesel 65 Chevy Impala on Pimp My Ride..
Last night on a special episode of Pimp My Ride, viewers and fans saw a 1965 Chevrolet Impala SS go from a normal classic into a custom 800hp Biodiesel street car as part of MTV's Break the Addiction program. This was on the first cars in a while that I liked on this show, so much so that I would want something like it as my daily driver or classic. I like the concept, the technology, the look, the entire package and the fact that this impala can go 0 to 60 in around 3.5 seconds, plus get 25 mpg to boot (according to the show). All I can say is, you will see more cars like this either with Biodiesel, Natural gas, ethanol, a hybrid and etc. and that's cool.Gallery from GAS - Galpin Auto Sports: Articles on this subject..- Autobloggreen- MTV ThinkmtvSee Yeah!

Chevrolet’s 2010 Impala Will be FWD. Maybe.
Automotive News reports that GM still hasn't decided whether their next gen Chevrolet Impala will channel its motive power through the front or rear wheels. While the Impala's replacement is currently slated for the same rear wheel-drive platform used by the... wait for it... please wait for it... it really is coming soon we swear... Chevrolet Camaro, the automaker is now contemplating placing the new Impala on the company's box fresh, front wheel-drive "global mid-sized vehicle architecture." That's the platform that will underpin virtually everything GM makes, from the European Vectra to the replacement for the just-out Chevrolet Malibu. Aye, there's the rub. The new 'Bu is nearasdammit the same size as the current Impala. If both cars ride on the same global platform, there can only be a 20" difference between them. Badge engineering across brands is one thing; trying to differentiate mechanically identical cars within one brand is another. Indee

I think this car is the best that Chevrolet offered for a very long time. I have driven a unit of this and i can say that its so smooth running, and moves very quiet. Comfortable seats is very important for me and my family and impala has this. I better have this car soon. Related Links: chevrolet impala(wiki) , chevy impala

American Axle Strike Hits Buick Lacrosse and Chevy Impala
The obvious question: who cares? Aside from no one in the first instance and fleet buyers in the second, these two models aren't exactly what you'd call hot sellers. OK, that's a bit harsh (Mikey). But seriously, the fact that the spreading slowdown caused by the eight-week old United Auto Workers' (UAW) strike at American Axle hasn't got GM execs in a lather (including their laid back, globe-hopping CEO) is either a condemnation of the affected products' appeal or management acumen, or both. Anyway, Automotive News [sub]  says the growing shortage of axles in North America "forced General Motors to eliminate a shift today at its auto assembly plant in Oshawa, Ontario. GM also said it slowed production of four-speed transmissions in Ypsilanti Township, M

how can i change the tail lights on my 2004 impala? black outs, or euro style available?
i know you can get the center trim to match the paint color but i would like to black out the red lights, or change them to a silver euro style, i can #039;t seem to find any options at all for the 04 impala tail lights. i have found billet grills and head light black outs but are open to suggestions to trick it out more. if i were to go up in rim size what has worked for you guys? i was thinking of trying to fit some black 18 #039;s (i have the hunter green car), i have seen 20 #039;s chrome on a white car but that is too much on a car like this especially with the 3.4 to push it all. i would also like to do something to the interior without spending too much. little things here and there. any help would be appreciated. thank you...
