Eh. I didn't really care for this film. I LOVED Shaun of the Dead...but this movie just didn't pull me in. I guess I just had really high expectations for this film and it's hard to meet that bar. I actually considered turning off the film half way through it. The film finally got interesting at the hour and a half mark. Up until that point, it was almost pain-stakingly annoying. All these murders would pop up and the town's peoples' reactions were just ridiculous. I mean, you found out why they reacted the way they did...but I guess it was just the actors or how it was portrayed...I wanted to rip my hair out. It was far less funny or imaginative than Shaun of the Dead....I don't know. I just don't have much to say about this. It sucked.I would pass on this film unless you're stalking Jim
This is a surprisingly very funny cop-buddy comedy from creators of Shaun of the Dead (2004), director Edgar Wright who co-wrote thr script with Simon Pegg, who starred as main character in both movies. There are no big special effects, but all movies look better in HD. Probably for that reason this movie was released on dual-format disk: one side is regular standard definition DVD and the other side is HD DVD.
The plot: Sgt. Nicholas Angel (Simon Pegg) is an exceptional cop. He is so outstanding, in fact, that he had become a nusence for his coleagues in London: he’s so good he makes everyone else look bad. For his achivements his captain and Chief Inspector (Bill Nighy) of his department decided to “promote” him to a small village of Sandford far away from the capital. But he is so dedicated he got to work of lawman even before he officially went on duty, which immediately made him subject of jokes. At first the village seams crime-free and peaceful, until bo

They worked together previously on the 2004 motion picture Shaun of the Dead and the television series Spaced. It was directed by Edgar Wright and produced by Nira Park. Wright revealed that he wanted to write and direct a cop film because "there isn't really any tradition of cop films in the UK... We felt that every other country in the world had its own t
Have you ever wanted to get pulled over? Normally people stay away from police cars and bikes because you just never know when you are going to get picked. Does getting a ticket for missing front plate or window tint sound familiar?
This morning I proved my theory wrong. I was getting on the freeway as usual, just idling at the red light. All of the sudden I saw her. She was beautiful, sexy and elegant. It was female CHP officer riding BMW R1150RT. Normally the girls working the law are not the prettiest, sometimes I even suspect they have a couple of round ones. She was quite the contrary. I almost thought she was wearing police costume but Halloween is over, so I denied that thought.
As I was drooling at her, the light turned green and she took off, but not before giving me a look and a wicked smile. Was I dreaming? This was one of the moments when everything seems surreal. I chased after her, desperately trying to attract her attension without violating any major laws. I tried pull

I haven’t been able to post this week’s PRGAAMWA DVD fight between Hot Fuzz and Zodiac because I was trapped at the Westfields Marriott in Virginia. They charge an unreasonable daily rate for internet access, and then are nervy enough to have a lousy connection. I had to reconnect about eight times over the course of two hours. On the positive side - you know I’m all about positivity - it gave me a lot more time to mull over the results.
And change my mind. And beat myself up over it. And change my mind again. (more…)

Short Review: Which is always better than having lukewarm fuzz.
Review: A hot shot London cop is sent to languish in a small village in the countryside after he proves to be too much competition for his urban cohorts. While in said small village, the hot shot is teamed up with a bumbling doofus who is addicted to shoot em’ up action movies. Aforementioned bumbling doofus and hotshot cop proceed to uncover a village wide conspiracy which leads to an extended gun fight sequence like the previously mentioned shoot em up action movies.
This is a solid frame from which to hang a movie. The writing team of Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead) are what Quintin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez would be if they teamed up and could make better movies. Pegg/Wright are postmodern film geeks making movies for other postmodern film geeks. They are clearly informed members of the VCR Generation. This film, like their previous work, is a fun bit of cinema and is meant to be little els

Edgar Wright, along with co-writer Simon Pegg and faithful stalwart Nick Frost, fuckin’ love movies.
Nick Angel (Simon Pegg) is one of the best cops in all of London. He is so good that he makes the rest of his department look bad in comparison. His arrest rate is 400% higher than anyone else! So the higher ups do the only thing they can think of — promote him to sergeant and ship him off to work in Stanford, the safest village in all of England. Here, Angel soon discovers that life is on a slightly different path, where the biggest problems seem to be a recurring “living statue” performance artist and an escaped swan. Angel also discovers that the town, which hasn’t had a reported murder in over twenty years, does seem to have an abnormal amount of fatal accidents. Angel’s city-trained mind kicks into overdrive, as he works alongside his new partner Danny Butterman (Nick Frost) to put clues together that nobody sees. Angel’s linked clues

Plot Summary
Hot Fuzz stars Simon Pegg as Nicholas Angel, a highly effective police officer in London who is sent away to the small rural village of Sandford because his excellent arrest rate is making the rest of the police officers look bad. Angel is partnered with PC Danny Butterman, played by Nick Frost, the son of the village Inspector. Obsessed with American police movies, like Bad Boys 2, PC Butterman is excited to work with Angel who has been involved in exciting police work.
After being sent on a series of silly assignments, like the one shown in this YouTube video clip below, things start to get exciting in the village. What appears to be an angelic village without any major crime turns out to be something more sinister as a series of deaths appear to be more than just accidents.

We went to the movies last Friday night, braving the crowds of teenagers. This movie is frick frackin' hysterical, and you NEED to go see it immediately. But don't blame me if you then feel the urge to rent "Bad Boys 2." I'm not taking responsibility for that, no way.Other things I'm recommending today include Tea Tree Oil for toenail fungus. I decided that I needed my liver for more important things than processing medication to rid my big toenails of a mild fungal infection, so I started using the tea tree oil in February, and it's working great. Now I could have posted before and after pictures, but impressive as they are I decided I'd rather keep y'all coming around. Instead, when you are sitting down to lunch today, know that I have spared your appetite. You're welcome!I'm spending today doing boring errands like getting the car serviced, undergoing a haircut & skunk stripe removal, and grocery shopping. Woo hoo! Par-tay in the 'burbs! The best thing that happe

Time for another movie review. We went to see Hot Fuzz this weekend. What a hoot!
I really enjoyed this farcical comedy. The characters are, well, characters! The humor is really great, and the action sequences are filmed such that you feel like you're there with the characters.
I liked the nods to other cheesy action flicks, and was continually surprised by the plot turns. This one's a double-shot, for sure. It's worth seeing on the big screen, and will, I'm sure, be another addition to our action film library.
The early morning cold air nipped through my Marvel Zombies hoodie as I walked calmly, but steadily, through the dingy empty streets of Seattle. Listening to my MP3 player, I reminisced to The Breeders, Last Splash. The classic Kim Deal bass line of Cannonball kept the anticipation heightened in my soul and my pace quick. Nostalgic feelings of when I was a teenager popped into my head listening to this same album on cassette tape on my Walkman, getting my young heart excited about what was around the corner. How times had changed since I was that age, yet I was still the same giddy young girl this particular morning…I was going to meet Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Edgar Wright, the creators of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, and show them my tattoo, a tribute to Shaun.
I had gotten my Shaun of the Dead tattoo for 2 reasons. The first being that I love zombies and the second that Shaun of the Dead, to me, is the sum of all zombie movies rolled into one. A fan of anything zombie, I
This is the new film by Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright, best known for the excellent ‘Shaun Of The Dead’. Coming out last Wednesday (Valentines Day) in the UK, March 15th in Australia and April 20th in America, it’s another comedy very much in the same mould as SOTD. The pairing of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost again get together as a brilliant double act, playing off each other and delivering some classic lines. The cast also includes former Bond Timothy Dalton, the brilliant Jim Broadbent and Billy Whitelaw.

He’s partnered with Danny Butterman (Frost), who longs for some action, gun fights and big time crimes happening in his vicinity. Hello again, here I am fighting off a nasty cold after a nine day stint of volunteer work with Toronto Filmworks. I get home and low and behold the trailer for Hot Fuzz is available on-line, and my RAM came in the mail! Today must be my lucky day. If only I could fix this sore throat.
One thing I love about the guys who have work on Shaun of the Dead and Spaced, which includes director Edgar Wright and comedic geniuses Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, is that they are able to make films that are self aware yet completely able to stand on their own. Shaun of the Dead for example only seems to get better viewing after viewing(and is now an inductee into my yearly horror movie marathon). Hot Fuzz looks to change little of that great formula and I’m not complaining. The cameos in the trailer alone leaves me excited to see it in theaters March 9th. So far we’ve got Bill Nighy, Stephen Merchant of The Office fame, and 007 himself Timothy Dalton. Not to mention this trailer features Sim

Was watching the enjoyable video blogs on Working Titles website today for a film called Hot Fuzz.
Its the new film from the Shaun of the Dead team. When I got to Video Diary 10 I had to smile. Its not just a small film like ours that gets washed out by the rain, it happens to the big boys too!
Take a look.
When we lived in England several of our friends became police officers, one in the Surrey Police and another in the London Metropolitian Police. . . . . .
Last week Colin and I decided to go out to a film and see HOT FUZZ, staring Simon Peg and Nick Frost.
