Lake Tekapo Youth Hostel is surprisingly, located right in front of Lake Tekapo in the centre of New Zealand’s South Island. Its main attraction is the huge window with an incredible view of Lake Tekapo and the mountains and has got to be one of the best views I’ve ever had in a Youth Hostel.

Al rato cae uno preguntando por un filme que salió de cartelera hace mil años…creo que E.T queria ver, mas o menos… La cosa es que estaba al pedo este muchacho y se quedó, después vino una chica un tanto siniestra y entró….al final la dieron para nosotros cuatros. Me sorprende desde el principio la falta de violencia…en la primera, volaban dedos, piernas, brazos, se veían algunas torturitas, un ojo salirse, un dedo desprenderse de la mano y la trama era muy buena. En esta decepcionante película solo se ven 2 escenas , una que le meten un sierrazo en la cara a una flaca por equivocación y otra que le pegan un par de guadañazos……NADA MAS. I’m still having a hard time grasping that one more $4 coffee here at home means one less night at a hostel somewhere in the world. And I’m having an even harder time completely severing the Starbucks umbilical cord. I’m down to one or two a week. I can quit anytime I want. No, really. I’m in control. I have talked about the Hostel 2 posters before. This new poster is closer in look and content to the posters for the original film, which I think is a step in the right direction. But does it get me viscerally scared, disgusted or intrigued? No, not really. Still not interested at all in watching this movie.

With the STPM results recently announced, I figured that many students are starting to get excited by the prospect of entering university life soon. And for a lot of us who have never ventured outside of our comfort zones, studying in a different place (state, country, your cup, your coffee) is probably something that's quite exciting and also at the same time, quite scary. Well, my second semester is almost over at UTeM, and I would like to share with you about hostel life here. When I first got here, it was quite literally a foreign place to me. All the roads are new, the shops foreign, even the people has a certain not-quite-from-home vibe. Also, I had no transport (except size 10 shoes) and not much friends. To compound the problem, our hostel is located a good distance away from our campus, a fact that would haunt a lot of us for the following few weeks. Bijou Phillips is about to give a bunch of geeks the thrill of their lives, according to the NY Post. The former wild child is starring in the new Lionsgate slasher flick Hostel Part Two, and the racy poster for the movie is being unveiled this weekend at the Comic Con event at the Javits Center in NY. The poster shows Phillips nude and beheaded. Even better, the photo shoot for it was at the El Royale apartment complex in Hollywood with all the windows open. With the Internet, it’s so easy to look and book for accomodations for your trips. However it can be a double edge sword: with the rising number of hostels going online and hostel review sites up, it can get quite hard to pick which one you’ll book with. These are the things I consider when picking a hostel: Location, location, location For me, it’s important that the hostel is near a train station, or if not a bus station. Aside from being accessible, you can save a lot by taking public transport instead of being a sissy and spending your precious (shopping) money on taxis.
