According to some estimates by the Union Tourism Ministry, there can be an up to 80 per cent rise in hotel rooms in the next two years.Rooms are difficult to come by in New Delhi, Kolkota, Mumbai, Chennai, and Bangalore in particular. Hospitality or coercion?
Has Keene State College succumbed to homosexual ideology?Even while opposing homosexual acts as gravely sinful [objectively speaking], the Catechism of the Catholic Church, No. 2358 teaches that:"The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition."One has to wonder then why Keene State College has bought into the use of the word "homophobia" and why the College is offering a course entitled HOLO 254, the description of which reads:"Explores gender in Central Europe in the 1930's and 40s and women's experiences under Nazi rule - in g

      Hospitality And An Empty House
After our large gathering at Thanksgiving we had a couple of days without company. Then we have had more family visiting yesterday and today. We had a surprise birthday party for one of them when they arrived and the house was full of happy faces visiting with those they had not seen in years. As of about a half an hour ago, the house is empty. Who would have thought that a house with ten people would be considered empty? After a week and a half of visitors coming and going it does seem empty now. We had a great time and are so thankful for each one who visited. We are happy to be able to open this home the Lord has provided us to so many.HOSPITAL'ITY, n. [L. hospitalitas.] The act or practice of receiving and entertaining strangers or guests without reward, or with kind and generous liberality.I have not yet perfected this gift but I am glad that the Lord has laid it upon my heart. We have been blessed to share our home with so many (even more than this last week or so). On

Hospitality Exchanges: Our Experiences (Part 2)
Our most recent hospitality exchangers were the Butlers from Cheshire, England, who spent two delightful weeks with us this past September. They did lots of day-trips into Washington, and also spent a day in Baltimore. Together the four of us also visited Mt. Vernon, Annapolis, and a weekend in Gettysburg, and we all enjoyed each other tremendously. Without doing this as a hospitality exchange, that kind of bonding could not have occurred, and again we feel as if we have made more dear friends for life. We have a standing invitation to visit them whenever we can. For us, the hospitality exchange has worked so very well, and has given us the opportunity to get to know our "exchangers" to a degree just not possible otherwise. I certainly can recommend this type of exchange, and certainly intend to embrace future opportunities as well! Hospitality Exchanges: Our Experiences (Part 1)
We reside near Washington, DC, and for the past several years have experienced "hospitality exchanges," which have worked wonderfully for us. This type of exchange involves one or both of us staying in our home and hosting the exchanged-with parties. We then, if able, will visit them in their homes as they remain there. Why would we do exchanges this way? For us, having three dogs and at one point an elderly parent in residence, it has been ideal. We didn’t have to make arrangements for the pets and Granny, didn’t have to leave copious instructions on how to operate everything, didn’t have to deal with the car-exchange issues, and could guide our guests to interesting sights in the area which they might not otherwise experience. In return, we have a fairly open invitation to travel to our visitors' home and enjoy their venues. In addition we find that we are not always able to travel as a couple – one might have needs to remain at home, and this arrangement allows the other

do you want a career in hospitality?
My desire to travel around the world began when I was in young girl. I admired the job of a SIA girl, the glamour, the elegance and the freedom to fly. But I didn't have the height to even qualify for the interview so there was my unfulfilled dream. It was not in the last few years that they relaxed the qualifications but then, I was already over the age limit - lol.Actually, I don't even know that there is a flight attendant school that caters to anyone who wants to pursue a career in the hospitality and travel industry. I believe an accreditation in a certified program in the flight attendant career will promise more advancement opportunities in the hospitality field. The International Air and Hospitality Academy provides courses for those who want a career in the airline, restaurant, culinary and hospitality industry. Hospitality Investment Conference
Its been a couple days since I have blogged. I have been in Orlando since Saturday. Yesterday was the first day of the Hospitality Timeshare Investment Conference. Right now we are at a break between speakers. The first presentation this morning outlined various trends in the Timeshare industry. It was remarkable to see that Timeshares have an occupancy around 81% while hotels generate an occupancy of only about 67%. I was freezing in the presentation. Its rainy and cold outside yet the Peabody Hotel still insists on putting the air conditioning on HIGH! Anyways, we are supposed to be working certain sections, picking up questions and bringing them to the facilitator. This session I was able to sit down and take notes, but next section I collect questions. This is giving more exposure to the industry so that I am able to figure out what I want to do once I graduate. I have already met several contacts for potential internships and jobs. Well…break is almost over, so I will blog

Cambridge Hospitality To Be Proud Of
Last year TW2B awards attracted several taxidrivers and small shops. This year we have two Cambridge restaurants on the list of nominees, which is good news if you like good food!We have had a nomination for La Mimosa restaurant, and by coincidence my father chose if for his 86th birthday lunch this week, so I was interested to meet Dom the proprietor and see his team in action.Certainly the place is physically accessible, in a lovely location by the river at the end of Thompson's Lane. The welcome was very warm and staff very attentive, and as it happened my father had rather overdone his eardrops and couldn't hear properly, but the waiter was very courteous and it was clear to me that customers with hearing problems are in safe hands as well!We have also had a nomination for Brown's in Trumpington Street. I myself was pleased to see this one come in, as I was invited to lunch there by a friend some years ago. MS meant that my friend used a powerchair and had difficulty with his spe

But we are led to believe certain things about the Germans, which do not co-exist with hospitality. (more…)
