Now that you have finished reading the latest and last in the series of Harry Potter books, you will be needing something else to fill your free time. I recently had the opportunity to read a great novel…Hooked. Hooked is a novel that brings together technology, drama, conspiracy, relationships and addiction into a well written first novel by Matt Richtel.
In his day job, Richtell covers technology and communications for the New York Times from his home base in northern California so he knows what he’s talking about when it comes to tech. Richtell also writes a daily syndicated comic strip called Rudy Park under the pen name “Theron Heir”.
Overall, I thought the book was great, however it sort of peaked at the start and end. Beginning with a great explosive series of events and eventually wrapping up with a very intriguing technology fueled conspiracy theory. The middle just plodded on, but certainly kept my attention.

My current project is ballroom dresses although my favorite material to work with is vintage neckties. How did you come up with your business name?My business started with one purse from a fabric remnant and I couldn't stop! I would always tell my husband that I was "hooked" and Hooked on Purses just naturally evolved from. My obsession has recently grown to include the ballroom dresses, necktie dresses, skirts and other apparel and accessories. Hooked on Heat is written by Meena, a creative writer and designer living in Toronto, Ontario. (She's also writes at Girl en Route.) The blog is entertaining and well written, the photography wonderful, and the layout (especially of the recipes) clean and easy to read.
As she writes, "With my Mom being Malaysian, my Dad an Indian, me growing up in the Middle East and having been in Canada for the last few years, my recipes reflect the eclectic tastes that I have gathered along the way."
Eclectic she is. Like the title says, Girl likes her hot and spicy food as her "Curry Culture" and "I like 'em Spicy!!" catagories show. While I appreciate a good curry now and then, my palette is pretty wimpy and I love my sweets. Not to worry, Girl has a "For the Sweet Tooth" category as well. (Nutella on croissants?
