Cars are not all equally important. While some might be a lot more exciting to drive, they're often priced beyond the reach of most consumers, who can't do anything else but to dream about owning one of them. The 2008 Honda Accord is a complete departure from the previous generation. In terms of size, the car is heavier and larger in every respect. Overall length grew by 76 millimeters, while height and width also boast significant increases. The resulting longer wheelbase means interior room is more generous than ever before. Passengers can stretch their limbs more freely, both in the coupe and the sedan.Of course, this maturing process goes beyond size. The new Accord also gets a pair of more powerful, less thirsty engines. Consumers looking for the best fuel economy will turn to the base
Honda’s clean-diesel technology will come to the U.S. in the ‘09 Accord, plus we get the scoop on other Honda tech.
From the Tokyo auto show comes confirmation that Honda’s 2.2-liter diesel engine will come to the U.S. installed in the 2009 Accord. The aluminum engine is fairly conventional in that it has a balance shaft, dual overhead cams, and high fuel pressure. The redline should be around 4500 rpm; that’s where the Euro-spec diesel Accord we drove topped out.
Power and boost levels have not been specified yet, but we can expect at least 150 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Honda engineers say the diesel is about 44 pounds heavier than a similar gas engine, but they wouldn’t confirm the actual weight of either.
One interesting tidbit is the cast st
2008 Honda Accord Was the Best Selling Vehicle in the US Last Month...Surprised?Honda released the all-new 2008 Honda Accord last September and it seems like most people, well at least people that make comments on here, said the car was ugly.Well it looks like the US buying public has spoken and the new Accord was not only the best selling car in the US last month, but the best selling vehicle.Yes, that means that the Accord outsold the best-selling Camry and Ford's F-Series pickups, which have been the best selling vehicles in the US for years.Due to the high gas prices, consumers no longer want large gas-guzzling trucks, which explains the decline in Ford's sales. GM and Toyota are also having problems selling their own full size trucks, so it is not a surprise to see the F-Series lose i
Reader Question Hi Austin,
I have a 1992 Honda Accord and the fan continuously runs after being shut off and it appears to be draining the battery. When I boost the battery, as soon as I hook up the cable the fan in the car starts running.
Insight into this problem would help a lot.
Cheers.

Its creative hell to better ads like the original Honda Accord ad. This one comes close with a simple message, communicated effectively - "Honda loves solving problems". Neat, very neat!!
You decide which one is better, the old ad is below
Family Sedan: Honda Accord The accord provides an excellent balance of comfort, roominess, ride, and handling. Like the civic, it delivers very good fuel economy for its class four cylinder and V6 engines got 24 and 23mpg overall in testing and the hybrid model got 25 mpg.
We’ve already seen the pictures – but the all-new Honda Accord looks even better in the metal! The Japanese firm took the wraps off its new family car at the show, with the fresh saloon and sporty Tourer models the stars of its Geneva show stand. The upmarket newcomer features a host of advanced technologies, including Honda’s Lane Keep Assist System, Adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Mitigation Brake System.Buyers will get the choice of three new engines, with 2.0 and 2.4-litre petrol units joined by the firm’s new 2.2-litre i-DTEC diesel unit. Later next year it will be available mated to an automatic gearbox – a first for the family model. The eighth generation Accord goes on sale in June as a saloon, with the Tourer arriving in September. Prices are likely to be similar to
Think about a used car and you might think junky, dirty and old. But another market is catching the attention of savvy buyers who want updated rides without paying new-car prices. These certified used or certified "pre-owned" (CPO) vehicles have been inspected and refurbished by the manufacturer and are backed by extended warranties. The certified used car market isn't one that automakers can afford to ignore. According to a recent J.D. Power and Associates study, sales of certified used cars have increased 46% since 2000. Auto experts estimate that 1.6 million certified used cars are sold annually, a number equivalent to 10% of new vehicle sales.
The new 2008 Honda Accord sedan takes a lot of style issue of the brand new Honda Civic was redesigned for 2006. The 8th generation of the agreement has smooth lines that seem to flow seamlessly from front to back. Compared with the new Accord coupe, sedan is a little higher with a little less aggressive. Exterior dimensions will not change significantly compared with the Accord sedan.

Have you heard the one about Honda Accord owners? They are so faithful that when it is time to get a new car, they simply buy the new version of the Accord.
This may sound like a joke, but it's true in about half of the sales agreement. You see, Honda research shows that 50 percent of new agreements to go to consumers who already possess a remarkable statistical Agreements for a plaque, which
This one is really digging into the archives… Here are some pictures and specs of my first car (not my parent’s station wagon). I learned a lot and have many great memories from this car. I often joked, that I literally turned every bolt on this car. I didn’t have access to air tools either, all old fashion Craftsman hand tools. There where many long cold nights completing mods so that I would be ready to drive to work the next day. I wish I had better pictures, but here they are (Mostly scanned 35mm, if I find the original print/negatives, I will rescan).

The Honda Accord is one of the icons of mid-sized sedans, and one of those cars that you buy because they last forever, get good gas mileage, and are as easy on the wallet as they are to park.
For this week’s Media Monday, we offer this video, courtesy of YouTube and MotorWeek:

Honda Presents The Accord Tourer Concept and i-DTEC, The Next-Generation Clean Diesel Engine Technology, At The Frankfurt Motor Show 2007.
The premiere of the Accord Tourer Concept provides a strong indication of the design direction of the all-new generation Accord Tourer set to debut in mid-2008. The wider, lower look signals a sportier, more emotional styling approach, and while the design of the current Accord Tourer maximises its load-carrying capability, the new model goes for smarter, sleeker proportions while retaining a strong degree of versatility and practicality. The Concept’s greater width makes for a more spacious cabin and also allows an increased track for enhanced handling characteristics.
The all-new Honda Accord range will boast one of the first all-Euro 5-compliant engine line-ups which will consist of two i-VTEC petrol engines of 2.0 and 2.4-litre capacities and a newly developed 2.2-litre i-DTEC next-generation diesel engine. Compared to the current Accor
No subtle hints here — the name tells you exactly what this design study is for. We liked it a lot — sportier, sleeker and sleeker than the current Accord Tourer, as well as longer and lower, it was finished in a well-chosen rich red paint color that looked good on the Honda stand turntable. Features like flush door handles and cameras in place of mirrors won’t make the final cut, but the classy finish and handsome shape should be part of the new Accord range coming to market in mid-2008.
Although just a concept, the Honda Accord Tourer signals Honda's hopes to build a real, genuine, honest-to-goodness station wagon tourer on the Accord platform again. Honda says it plans on building something that will look a lot like this estate by the middle of next year and we hope they aren't lying. This is one of the swoopiest wagons we've seen in a while. Particularly at the rear, it has some beautiful lines that are elegant and sporty, and downright sexy. It makes us think of an Alfa Romeo, which is a good thing. This concept changes very little of the new Accord as we know it, stretching the track and width a bit to help with cargo space and handling. It will feature the 2.0- and 2.4-liter gas engines, as well as Honda's 2.2-liter diesel, as options when it goes into production, which means it will be a full all-Euro 5-compliant vehicle across the board. Honda says we'll see the final version at Geneva and we can't wait. Hopefully a U.S. version will be in the plans as we
Honda ha presentando el nuevo modelo del Accord, más precisamente la octava generación del auto más vendido de la empresa japonesa. The rest of Honda's hybrid product plan remains unchanged। The company will continue to sell hybrid versions of the Civic and also intends to release a new hybrid subcompact we presume will effectively act as the replacement for the diminutive Insight in 2009.
Completely redesigned for 2008 with increased dimensions for a more spacious interior, the sedan styling theme expresses a powerful presence with sharp and strong character lines. The coupe is further individualized with an aggressive stance and unique proportions that create a muscular, sporty demeanor."The all-new Honda Accord has become more advanced and refined with a new level of engineering sophistication," said John Mendel, executive vice president of American Honda Motor *** Inc. "As the Honda brand's flagship automobile, the Accord is designed to exceed expectations with premium technology, a more spacious interior and increased power, while retaining the fun-to-drive character and innovative feel that has always distinguished the Accord."An available 3.5-liter i-VTEC V-6 engine produces 268-horsepower - the most ever for any Accord - while introducing a new generation of fuel-saving Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) technology and achieving a Parti
Honda has a tendency to not unveil their production vehicles at a major autoshow. They like to keep their fame on the web. Yesterday, Honda officially released the redesigned 2008 Honda Accord, along with 100+ images and details on one of 2007's most important automotive launches. The previous Accord was on sale since 2003 and received a major refresh for MY2006.
The Accord Coupe and Sedan have
All 2008 Accord engines deliver increased horsepower across the board, along with high fuel efficiency and low emissions. The sedan is available with either a 180 horsepower engine (up 14 horsepower) or a 200 horsepower 2.4 liter 4-cylinder engine (up 34 horsepower) with a choice of 5-speed manual transmission (standard) or 5-speed automatic transmission (available), or a 273 horsepower 3.5 liter V6 with a 5-speed automatic transmission. The Accord Coupe is offered with a 200 horsepower 4-cylinder engine (up 34 horsepower) or a 273 horsepower V-6 engine (up 29 horsepower) with a choice of 5-speed manual (4-cylinder) 6-speed manual (V6) or 5-speed automatic transmission (all engines). Both four-cylinder models deliver 21 mpg around town and 31 mpg on the highway. The V6 delivers between 17 and 19 mpg in the city and 25 and 29 mpg on the highway. All models and trim levels except the four-cylinder with 5-speed manual transmission and Coupe V-6 with 6-speed manual transmission meet stringent
Spy photos: 2008 Honda Accord interiorThanks to the MagsReport we can see today some spy photos of the interior of the 2008 Honda Accord. We can see that the center console is wider comparing it to the interior of the 2003 Honda Accord. Also the buttons look larger. The vehicle information screen is now below the navigation LCD. Also the vents were moved below the navigation screen. It looks like Honda did quite a good job with the new interior.Anyway we should better wait for the final photos because then we could compare it with the old version. I want to say thank you for the 1997 Honda Accord. It helps to go back and forth to work and do errands without having to depend on someone else to take you on their time, I can come and go as I please. Thanks God BlessDebra
In the mountains of Canada, Brenda Priddy & Company managed to obtain a set of images of the new Honda Accord Coupe and Sedan undisguised during a brochure photoshoot. Both models look great with their individual design characteristics that distinguish each other. The Coupe sticks to the Accord Coupe Concept, unveiled at the Detroit Autoshow this year. However, in our opinion, the production version looks more sophiscated and elegant. Both the Coupe and Sedan snapped here are the EX-V6 trims, which are the range-toppers in its line-up.According to Jalopnik and previous speculations, the Accord will be available with two powertrain options. The 4-cylinder 2.4L is expected to pump 180HP, while the V6 model will churn 270HP. That's equivalent to the Altima V6 and 2 more horsepowers than the Camry V6. We were able to catch a first glimpse of the facelifted 2008 Honda Odyssey in one of the pics (front 3/4 of Accord Coupe). The blue car behind the Coupe is indeed the new Odyssey and it seem

Inside Line presented some new spy shots of the upcoming Honda Accord Sedan, photos that show that the Sedan’s design will be slightly different than the Coupe’s. No detailed info is available so far about the Sedan, except that a new V6 engine will be available, plus some extra safety features.
The Honda Accord Sedan is expected to be presented next year by Honda.

Temple of VTEC just posted up three spyshots of the EX trim of the new Accord Sedan, due to be unveiled on August 21st. Last week, the first spyshots of the Accord Sedan surfaced on the web, showing the LX variant. Reception was love-it-or-hate-it and we were on the tip of the cliff on whether we liked it or not. These new shots improve our perspective of the Accord drastically, especially with the bigger wheels. The Honda Accord Coupe and Sedan will be unveiled on August 21st, according to Motor Trend, who told us to give a close watch on their website on that day. However, a September 1st debut might be more likely, as it follows Honda's previous annual September 1st releases, like the CR-V in 2006, Civic in 2005, and Odyssey in 2004. Head on over to VTEC to see these images fully.[Source: Temple of VTEC]
We just showed you a decent cell phone spy shot of Honda's new 2008 Accord Coupe, and we speculated that the professional carparazzi would be able to track one down soon to provide additional photos for our edification. Sure enough, we now have some genuine, professional spy shots in all their DSLR glory, and it's quite a selection. Brenda Priddy and crew captured all angles of Honda's new coupe, including the interior. The car is still wearing some light camo on the front and rear fascia and three quarter windows, but otherwise it is virtually naked.[Source: Autoblog]Continued- Article, link to more imagesDifferences between the concept and production version appear to be minor. The grille appears more car-like, the exhaust tips have been made more practical, and there are different, but equally attractive wheels filling the fenderwells. This version is also sporting a trunklid spoiler and repositioned cyclops brakelight out back. With the still-partially-taped taillights, the rear
Honda is really good at keeping secrets under their roofs. The only indication of the next generation Accord was the Honda Accord Coupe Concept shown in this year's NAIAS. It was the preview concept of the next generation Accord Coupe. Today, a member of HowardForums, posted camera-phone pics of the next Accord Coupe, with fairly light disguise, testing on the road. Our first impression was: we like it.The new Accord Sedan and Coupe will receive Honda's new A-VTEC engine with VCM (Variable Cylinder Management). The front end shots suggest Honda made little changes from the concept, in a good way. Projector headlamps are visible. The side profile is gorgeous with no changes made from the concept other than the dramatic side flare shown on the concept. We turn to the rear and we are in love. The only part of the concept we didn't like, the tuner-ish taillights, is gone in place of conventional LED taillight formats. The rear cues the Civic Coupe sibling. The interior is not visible, a
Take a look at the next-generation Honda Accord Coupe. It is a vehicle that is sure to impress any car enthusiast. It has more modern sleek styling cues, from the fastback roof, to distinctive headlights. A more powerful V-6 engine will provide better fuel efficiency with with the Honda Variable Cylinder Management (VCM) technology. The Subaru Legacy GT, Infiniti G35 and Acura TSX are paid-in-full members of the practical power automotive niche. They cater to financially responsible enthusiasts who want their reliability served with a supersized side of hoon and a la carte cog-swapping. Although Honda’s new Accord V-6 packs a 268-horsepower punch, the four-door’s a pedal short in the row-your-own department. Fortunately, the Accord EX-L coupe boasts a six-speed manual transmission. So is the EX-L a category killer or just another vanilla thrilla?
i had my clamp alter just a few months ago, but now whenever i #039;m active for a continued time or let my car sit and run for a while it feels like the clamp or tranny is traveling out, i #039;m apprehensive what could it be. the affair is that if gasing it, it feels like it not traveling anywhere, i could be in 2nd accessory and reving it up to 4000 rpm and get nowhere, sometimes i #039;ll would stop and about-face it off a bit and if i alpha it up afresh it drives fine...
