It’s scarcely fathomable, but Lillian Ladele has won. You may remember her - the Islington civil registrar who refused to conduct civil partnerships, despite it being a secular function of a secular job under a secular employer, who in turn was bound by the Equality Act (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2007 and the Civil Partnership Act [...]
It’s far from just Iris Robinson, but let’s remember what she, as Chair of the Northern Irish devolved assembly’s health committee said. After boasting that her pet ‘ex-gay’ psychiatrist could ‘fix’ gay people from being gay, saying:
“I have a very lovely psychiatrist who works with me in my offices and his Christian background is that [...]
Wayne Besen [Pictured] just wrote a provocative article entitled, "How the GOP Is Blowing It" "
"A May poll by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press found that 49 percent of white evangelical Protestants view gay marriage as very important, up 10 points since last fall - Overwhelming majorities of Republicans (75 percent) and white evangelical Protestants (81 percent) oppose allow
Here is a blast for all of our Republican Lesbiatopia readers out there. (That would be all two of you, if you don’t count my dad.)It is estimated that approximately 51,320 of California's same-sex couples are planning to marry now that the California state Supreme Court has ruled that gay and lesbian couples are entitled to civil marriage in that state. Another 68,000 out-of-state couples are l
I know right out of the starting blocks that this post is going to offend a great many people, but I feel very strongly that many LGBT people are seriously sabotaging the cause for full and equal civil rights by referring to themselves by the use of historically and current hateful epithets, using such terms as "Queer," "Dyke," "Fag," and other such demeaning and hateful words that have been histo
"Gay men and lesbians are more likely to be left-handed than heterosexuals. The preference for left-handedness isn’t huge. But it’s distinct, and it might have a basis in human biology."So says Richard Lippa, a veteran Cal State Fullerton psychologist who has been poring over the sex, gender and behavioral data contained in a BBC Internet survey that involved more than 200,000 people. The 'Bee
I’ve already written about Lilian Ladele, but she’s far from alone as a Christian intolerant of homosexuality. In response to the news of a violent homophobic attack in Newtonabbey on Stephen Scott, Northern Ireland’s DUP MP Iris Robinson (wife of the new First Minister) said:
“I have a very lovely psychiatrist who works with me in [...]
"The Alberta Human Rights Commission has fined a Christian group $5,000 for an anti-gay letter that was published in a Red Deer newspaper."The panel ruled in November that the Concerned Christian Coalition and its former executive director Stephen Boissoin broke Alberta's human rights law because the letter likely exposed homosexual people to hatred and contempt."In 2002, Boissoin wrote a letter t
There are 77 countries in the world today where it is a criminal offence to be gay. In seven countries the punishment is death. An International Day Against Homophobia (IDAHO) provides a platform for everyone to make a powerful statement to demand improvements for the quality of life for LGBT people. The 17th May can be used to raise awareness of homophobic issues that are negatively impacting on
If, like me, you think not enough is done to tackle homophobia, here is some cheering news from The Oxford Times. The website is Oxhault.Sadly, the "I'm not gay so why should I care" brigade are already mocking.?, ox on 2:27pm todaySurely there are more important issues in the city to be dealing with.......Does ? symbolise this person's questionable judgement?
John McNeese made the following comment in my previous post, Theology and Same-Gender Relationships. John wrote:There has to be a better way to discuss sex. As you can probably tell, I’m hostile to these kinds of conversations. I would much prefer discussing the roots of homophobia. At Shuck and Jive, we aim to please. So what are the roots of homophobia? Why is it that in 2008, the church and

The 3.6 million lesbians, gays, and bisexual people in Great Britain continue encountering severe issues of bigotry and prejudice in their daily lives according to a recent study of this issue. A poll, commissioned by the equality charity, Stonewall, suggest government bodies tend to ignore the dimensions of problems encountered by gays and lesbians, particularly [...]
Ostatecznie wyłuskałem z całości dokładnie dwa podstawowe i zadziwiające błędy aka absurdy w pojmowaniu homoseksualizmu i w kształtowaniu sobie opinii o nim.

Fred Phelps is getting old, and the same goes for his message. But that doesn't stop the Rev. Billy Ball (who comes up with these names?) from being a Phelps wannabe:
Twenty-three years ago Ball took over as pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Primrose, just south of Luthersville in Meriwether County. He has since used his pulpit to capture the national spotlight by engaging in a form of street preaching that arouses the kind of raw emotion usually reserved for family feuds.
Ball says his no-holds-barred blasts against sin — especially his attacks on homosexuals — are ordained by God. Others say they're the work of the devil himself.
His caustic, callous approach infuriates some, invigorates others. Either way, Ball says he's just getting started. And he's counting on the First Amendment to keep him on the street.
"I'm going to be the white Rosa Parks," Ball says. "I'm not going to the back of the bus on free speech. Lots of people don't like what we do and they try a
This is a multicultural and apolitical blog. I don't want to take opinion about specifically sexual orientations. But we defend the liberty and the free options about each way of life, once that doesn't affect the liberties and the rights of other people. So we must to announce that today is The International Day Against Homophobia.
Homo is todays slang for homosexuals.. and a phobia is a fear of something.. so if people believe that Christians who see homosexuality as a sin and wrong are suffering from ‘homophobia’, does that mean we can consider people that believe having the Christian faith (or belief in God/Christ) is wrong as Christophobes?
I was listening to another wonderful radio show last night, The Phil Valentine Show and heard something very disturbing...One day, in Nowhereville, USA (can't remember the location), an 11 year old boy got into a verbal fight with a kid on the playground. Later that day, he sent the kid an e-mail and said "You're gay". Next day comes along, and the cops show up at the house. Dad gets worried when he hears they're looking for his son, until he finds out the nature of their visit. The cop replied: "We are investigating a homophobic crime of a very serious nature".I call people gay all the time. Sometimes in jest, and with some people, I really wonder (but that's beside the point). If this is a crime, I have hundreds of counts racked up against me by now. I am in no way encouraging bullying or cyber-bullying, but that's not really the case here! Our First Amendment rights are being stripped away from us in favor of "political correctness" so that nobody feels "uncomfortable"
I can't stand it any longer - I have to sound off on Gen. Pace's recent condemnation of homosexuals. I get madder every time I think about this. Maybe this will make me feel a little better. The point I'll be making here is that Pace's homophobia, as despicable as it is, is only part of the problem here.On the off chance that you somehow missed this story, this is what General Pace, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said during an interview with the Chicago Tribune on March 12:"My upbringing is such that I believe there are certain things, certain types of conduct, that are immoral. ... I believe that homosexual acts between individuals are immoral and that we should not condone immoral acts."As important as his words was the context in which they were spoken. Pace expressed his intolerance after he was asked about the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy. Pace indicated that he supports this policy and the above quote was his rationale for doing so. The policy is a go
Can't say I'll shed a tear over it.Bigotry and Homophobia, all that gay-bashing that makes me sick to my stomach, is probably the unnoticed casualty of the 2006 elections. For years under Republican rule, Gay and Lesbian Americans fell victim to Christian fundamentalist pandering and social conservative that ran rampant among the elected officials who needed the ignorant to vote for them. With Democrats in power, LGBT Americans can finally live without fear and live openly among everyone else.Sure bigotry and homophobia still exist, but if you've noticed the brouhaha that erupted over the recent anti-gay remarks made by Isaiah Washington and Tim Hardaway, the rejection of the gay marriage ban in Arizona (and near rejections in Colorado and South Dakota), and the recent legalization of civil unions in New Jersey (which was popularly supported), LGBT rights are beginning to seem perfectly normal and accepted.Having said that, I'm not a big fan of Hate Crime legislation. If someone kil
