      Carlos Delgado's non-homerun
So did you see Carlos Delgado's homerun getting taken away by a bad reversed call last night? It couldn't have been clearer the ball was fair since it hit the fair pole. This all brings up the old question about whether there should be instant replay in baseball. Be sure to take our poll on the subject below.

Jeter Hit's First Homerun Of Season
Well as you can see from the post directly below this, the Yankees needed Derek Jeter's bat to regain some power. In his first at bat against the Detroit Tiger's Jeremey Bonderman, Jeter began his ascent...and the Yankees won. Coincidence? I think not.

Jim Thome Hits Walkoff for 500th Homerun, Sox Win!!
Jim Thome's 500th homer was a game-winner. Thome hit a two-run shot in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Chicago White Sox a 9-7 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday, becoming the 23rd player -- and third this season -- to reach 500 home runs. The slugger drove a 3-2 pitch from reliever Dustin Moseley to left-center, ending an 0-for-11 slump and reaching the milestone in

Vols need homerun threat at receiver
Looking back on the history of Tennessee football, you quickly find that most Volunteer football teams seem to have big play threats at Wide Receiver. C’mon, you know that this university did not obtain the moniker “Wide Receiver U” for turning out one or two greats. This is the institution that gave the world Stanley Morgan, Willie Gault, Anthony Miller, Carl Pickens, Alvin Harper, Marcus Nash, Peerless Price, Donte Stallworth, and a host of others who have contributed on Sunday’s in the NFL. Last season, Robert Meachem added his name to the list of Vols who became a big-time playmaker on the outside. Teammates Jayson Swain and Bret Smith served as productive guys who got open and made teams pay when teams decided to double Meachem. Fast forward to 2007, as Meachem left school early to become a first round pick of the New Orleans Saints and Swain and Smith have both used up their eligibility. This has left a void of epic proportions in David Cutcliffe’s offensive scheme

Barry Bonds hits his 755th homerun & ties Hank Aaron’s record, racists everywhere are perturbed…
And I do mean perturbed, irked, upset, irate, etc. The perfect example? Check out the expression (or lack of) on Bud Selig’s face during the entire celebration in the video after the break. He couldn’t even manage to squeeze a grin out. Vikings Get Homerun Hitter with Peterson
Adrain Peterson is the best back in the draft, and this was a great pick by the Minnesota Vikings.  Chester Taylor and Peterson will make a nice 1-2 punch for the Vikings, who with playing indoors at the Metrodome could have a great running game.  Peterson is the home run hitter, can catch the football and could very well be the rookie of the year for the Vikings. The quarterback spot is still iffy with Tavaris Jackson, but the chance to get a 6-1, 200 pound back with the speed of Peterson, there was no way that the Vikings should have passed on him for Brady Quinn.  It is rare in this league to be able to get a back with the type of power and speed that Peterson has.  Now of course there is the chance of a big injury, and his collarbone is a concern, but the upside on Peterson outweighs the injury that Peterson suffered last season.

      The Homerun Record
Barry Bonds hit his fourth spring training homerun Friday against Colorado. It seems that the typical U.S. baseball fan lost all interest in his homerun total, since Bonds passed the sacred cow at 714. The focus now seems to be an investigation, hoping to get rid of him. Bonds stands 22 homeruns short of the home run record set by Hank Aaron (755). Where’s the furor, uproar & outrage that accompanied the approach to the non-record held by someone who didn’t even play against competition?

The 500-Homerun club is getting crowded
Manny Ramirez is coming real close to 500 homeruns and as impressive as that is, there are now so many members that it has lost some of its elite status. After Manny hits his 500th in a few days or maybe even a week, you will have the loudmouth Sheffield ...
