Bei meinem letzten Besuch auf den Seiten des Blogpimps habe ich dort eine interessante Spielerei gesehen. Ein kleines Tool für die WordPress Sidebar oder auch für jede “normale” Homepage. Das Gadget von FEEDJIT zeigt die letzten Besucher an und von welcher Seite sie gekommen sind. Ich habe diesen Service mal via Widget in meine rechte Sidebar ganz unten eingebaut. Erstaunlich fand ich, dass nach der Installation die Besucherzahlen gestiegen sind. Vermutlich findet durch dieses Tool ein kleiner Besucheraustausch statt. Ich selbst habe mich auch schon von Seite zu Seite geklickt und habe mich über die vielen neuen Seiten gefreut, die ich so kennen gelernt habe. I don't love the new Food Network Homepage. The one feature I used all the time is not there. The Find a TV Show box used to be on the home page. Now you have to click at least once to get there. There's a Find A Recipe From An Episode, but that takes you to a dumb list that gives you a DESCRIPTION of each show and a link.AAARRRGGHHH!!!! And yes, I know there are various other ways to get to where I want, such as the alphabetical list of shows, BUT they all involve more clicks than before. So now I have to go to Find A Recipe From An Episode, choose a show and leave the "Episode Topic" box empty and THEN when I get to that page which is just a dumb list of SOME episodes, but not all, I can click AGAIN in the Find A TV Show box and get what I want. Oh, but luckily there IS room for a giant picture of Rachael Ray AND a poll by Kraft on whether we prefer Shrek Mac and Cheese to Hamburger Helper. (I kind of made that up, but not entirely.)

My Safari (yes, I’m an Mac user so sorry for all the weirdness going on for people using Internet Explorer! :D) has Apple as a home page, and my Firefox has a Mozilla Google Page that looks like this. Well, we just released a really cool feature that lets you instantly have your own personalized home page with the background and theme you chose to create your MySpace layout! For example, I’m a HUGE Naruto fan so I chose a Naruto background (searched for “Naruto wallpaper” because I get better quality images) and a Stationery theme to create a new MySpace page which turned out pretty nice Once I create that layout, I see an option to create a home page based on that layout on my user page. Here is a sneak peak of the soon to be Google Adsense login page, I love the new layout, it is so clean and neat and informative, unlike the previous login screen which is kind of boring. Well, I am so used to the old login screen and I guess I need a little bit more time to adapt myself to this new layout. Could this possibly be the default layout for all Google Services? Gmail?
