Here are Trisha and Shane enjoying his homecoming from Iraq last weekend. Trisha is the daughter of one of my oldest friends Sabrina (buddies since high school). The couple are expecting a son next month. It is hoped that since Shane has served two tours in Iraq that he will not have to go back.

The Washington Post reports that Taylor arrived at the Winston Churchill High School gym wearing a black lace tunic that was “way too short for a dress.” She didn’t come along, tagging along with friends from her hometown in Potomac, Maryland.
Not surprisingly, it was reported that “strangers had a hard time striking up a conversation with the gorgeous blond starlet.” She is currently not attending classes at the school.

Lupe, Grace's sister's husband, our brother-in-law, returned home safely early yesterday morning from his second tour of duty in Iraq with the U.S. Marines. Having been away since January, we are extremely happy to have him home in time for the holidays. Hopefully he'll be home for a while.I personally admire his courage and ability to do what he does. After eight days away from our children, Kathy and I were agreed: it was time for them to come home.

We thoroughly enjoyed our break away from our duties as Mom, Dad, programmer and teacher, but as the days slipped away, our hearts returned to our little family. In short, we missed ‘em.

We are spiritually and relationally renewed; or if not, it wasn’t from a lack of trying. The church leadership retreat challenged the depth of our commitment to our Lord, and helped us to build some closer relationships with the staff and ministry leaders. Our trip to the east coast was a delightful mix of catching up with old friends and revisiting old haunts without feeling too er, old.
It was wonderful to connect with Rachel and to see several other good friends, like Emily and Dave.
