Last day I wrote a post about "The House of your Dreams" and discussed areas in which you should plan. With a small research I found some more info on the same. This was to help my friend who was about to construct a new home. The data I was searching for was 1. Area in which maximum wastage happens/ expence is more2. How to avoid the sameSo the main Area were the usage of concrete, which can be r
A week ago, we finally had our septic tank pumped. On Cape Cod, there is no comprehensive sewer system, and most houses have septic tanks. This is a big issue here, because the burgeoning year-round population means strained environmental systems and lots of nitrogen leaching into the wetlands. Know what else is a no-no on Cape Cod? No garbage disposals allowed in MA if you have a septic tank
after desperate months of sitting in the basement we finally made it. Last week we enjoyed our first glass of prosecco in our new office. The new office space is quite luxurious. 200m², 7 rooms, 2 restrooms and a tiny kitchen. Of course some small details are still missing: whiteboards lying on the floor, plants in the middle of the room and until now no pictures on the walls, but hey: "We feel go
It has been a great ride for the RenuzitTriScents Home Maker promo. I have been following them and it is good to hear that there are 10 semi-finalists left who are competing to win a $20,000 worth of Home Makeover in the Renuzit TriScents “Transform Your Home with Tanya Memme”. I have just voted for my favorite finalist that I found on their semi-finalist gallery and I love this family. I choo
I'm back! As much as I like to be out and about, isn't home the best? As they say, home is where the heart is. It's where I belong, where I feel safe.In this week alone, I've been on the plane FOUR times. Wow.All in all, I had a good trip. The meetings with vendors and colleagues never failed to impress me. These people really know their stuff. They ask intelligent questions and give brilliant feedbacks. I wonder when I can reach that stage.I'm tired. It's time for a nap and after that, laundry and some face pampering. After 5 and a half days of staying in hotels, my face is really dry.
We're all back home now. We've been away for three weeks and it seemed like a very long time. Though it was quite tiring but it was indeed a blessed trip. We spent some quality time with friends and family, some whom we haven't seen for a long time. I just didn't enjoy the time spent with them but also the food as well. Yes, all my ' food desires' had been granted too. We were able to eat all my favorite food and some my favorite shops. Our Li'l girl enjoyed the trip most, she was so happy to meet of lot of friends 'who can speak English'. Our boy had a grand time too, he has been carried, cuddled, kissed and hugged by everyone but it seems he likes it since he didn't complain at all. As for my Hubby, you don't have to ask him if he enjoyed his stay at his homecountry, you just need to lo

Home Sweet Home is a celebration of Banksy’s street art in his home city of Bristol.
It is the most revealing account of Banksy’s formative years and contains more than one hundred images of his Bristol art, as well as pictures of Banksy at work, many of which have never been published before.

So we live here now. In this three story chalet style home on the side of a hill looking out over a valley. The essentials are here. Clothing, food and whatnot. I ache in ways that remind me of the trauma of childbirth, and I want to curl up and sleep for days but my mind is racing. There is a strangeness here that I don't think will be quick to abate. Usually in our many moves I find myself settled quickly. Put my books on my shelves, my paintings on the wall, and I can call it home. It's different this time though. The space here is so vast compared to what I'm used to. My things are spread throughout the three floors instead of gathered together in a small cozy space. It's as if my concept of home has been stretched beyond recognition. I feel blurry eyed and weary, and wonder

Hemma igen. Pappan kom över och la Peo i sin säng hos mig, så att han sov där när jag kom hem. Min son. Min älskling. Kärlek. Tårar. Hur patetisk får man bli. Men det är så jobbigt att vara ifrån honom. Tio dagar är för länge. Herregud, han hinner gå och lära sig säga [...]
At the beginning of the semester as an RA staff in E.M. Lynn we decided the duty schedule for the rest of the semester. Doing the weekly schedule was a challenge because certain individuals on our staff couldn’t differentiate between “days the can’t work” and “days they didn’t want to work”. Nevertheless, we eventually got [...]

Mom and Dad are HOME!!!!!!
They made it back from Portland a little later than they expected (damn flight delays) but honestly, I didn’t really notice. I was getting into the groove of life at the Dale household and I had the BEST time!

Home Sweet Home
When the bell rings Tring! Tring!
I run out with all my things
‘Cause it is time to go
To my Home Sweet Home!
Grab your books
Ignore all looks
And make a dash
To the door, but do not crash
Just run with your things
‘Cause you’ve heard the bell ring
Tring! Tring!
It’s time to go
To my Home Sweet Home!

…That was the name of our field trip on Wednesday to our local Wildlife Center.  The kids learned about animal “habitats;” what they are, what they consist of, what they look like, etc. We have gone to several of these classes over the past couple of years, and they are always very good. I loved observing all the home school kids sitting on their little “carpet squares,” listening to the introductory story book. I was struck by how attentive, enthusiastic, and excited all the children were. They gladly participated and seemed to really appreciate the opportunity.
Particularly at this time of year, it can be very difficult to keep the attention of any child and to attempt to teach them anything! I have worked in the public school system, and several times I have had the experience of being there just before Christmas break! All I can say, is we’re still here at our “Home Sweet Home,” and the kids are also learning about a

The reason for creating this post; thanks to my aunt with her MSN personal message.I wouldn't know what to blog about if not for her.Yeah, thanks again;-)It's home sweet home for my aunt once again (not the second, not the fifth) after been away for, say, 3 months living in UK. Many say 3 months is alot. But with time, ticking as fast as a lightning, I think 3 months is really short -- if you think it again. While my aunt is away living with the husband in a foreign land, life has to go on for me. For instance, going to school, outing with friends and ecetera. And that really puts that 3 months away from my mind. For once, twice or even thrice, I tend to forget about her. I apologised for being way super bad. (I know I am.) It's like, she is no more in your life that kind of thing. I mean, who in the world will for goodness sake, keeps talking and asking about my aunt's life all the time. I don't know about you but I just think it is not important at ALL and asking once is always
Home Sweet Home... that's the words my hubby said when we arrived at Bandung, our hometown after leaving for 6 days... We love to see our hometown again! Clay and Clifford were also glad to comeback home and sleep in their beds... being at home, they sleep tight and well!Today I found something beautiful to decorate our home... it is really personalized and gorgeous for our home or it would be perfect for a housewarming gift! In this rainy season a doormat will be very useful to keep our home clean. I love this cedar personalized doormat very much! It is perfect to clean Clay's shoes when he is back from school. You know boys like to play on the field and get their shoes very dirty and this cedar doormat has brushes on it!Our house also doesn't have any home address sign and mailbox *blushed* We used to have a home number but it was taken away when we repainted the fences and forgot to put it back... *double blushed* So the postman just throws the letters into our carport! yeah.. ye
Ieri sono andato a lasciare una caparra per la nuova abitazione. Poi piano piano vi racconterò della nuova avventura. E’ tutta la mattina che non faccio altro che buttare cose. Adesso devo smontare la panca, [...]

I am back in Stockholm again; it’ll be nice to breathe some city air for a change, though both the gig in Växjö and Norrbotten has been nice. At the moment I wait for an answer whether I will participate in an excavation of a stone setting or not later this month. This week will be tight, I have some meetings I need to attend and two applications to update regarding the PhD program at Stockholm University, in Archaeology and Osteoarchaeology. So I’ll know what to do this week, time to get busy.

I dream of the day when I can buy my own house, and hopefully that day isn’t too far away. Its such a stable investment, and you hardly ever lose on property. I have been looking at renting a place closer to the new job, but renting means paying off someone else’s bond! That just seems like such a waste. For a bit more on your monthly payment you can be buying your home instead of renting it!
In South Africa property is rather expensive at the moment, but prices are not so much increasing anymore. A while back the property industry had quite a boom.
Getting a home loan is a whole different story though. It might be farely easy to GET a home loan. But how to know which one to pick? Which offers you the best? In the end it doesn’t really matter which one you pick. As long as you know what it entails. Read the fine print.
If you pay an amount extra every single month you could end up paying a LOT less.
For instance: If you were to buy a house of R750 000, an
Painting by artist Camilla Connolly.I'm back home after 10 days in Las Vegas and I couldn't be happier!Yesterday I took a chance and showed up way early at the Las Vegas airport and actually caught an earlier flight home. I got home at 11:00 AM (instead of 2:10 PM) and picked Snuggle Bug up out of daycare by 11:45 AM. He was so happy to see me! He gave me a big hug and on the drive home he told me three separate times, "I miss you, Mama!" He's never said that before so it really made my heart melt!Snuggle Bug and I went out for lunch and then out for ice cream (I felt a little spoiling was in order). Then we went home for a nap. When I told Snuggle Bug that he had to lay down for a nap, he insisted on sleeping in my bed with me. So there we were, in my king-sized bed and he kept saying, "I sleep by you, Mama" and he got closer and closer to cuddle and insisted on sharing my pillow. It was so sweet.Oronzo was quite happy to see me as well. He told me he missed me a lot too! It's so

A family buys a large apartment in a high rise development and strange things begin to happen. Seems that years ago this was squatter territory and when the government reclaimed the land (The Chinese reclamation of Hong Kong?) the squatters were run off and many people killed. Now, this family consists of mom, dad, and Chi Lo, and Chi Lo mysteriously disappears from a birthday party for one of the neighbors kids. Mom sees him go over the wall of the high rise and while his toy tractor is found, he isn’t. Mom apparently isn’t too tightly wrapped anyway, so she and her husband conduct a frantic search for the child because the police aren’t really doing much. It seems that somewhere in this huge apartment building there is one of the former squatters that has claimed Chi Lo for her own and moves around through the ventilation system. Mom figures this out, dad helps and ends up in hospital for his trouble while mom continues to hysterically search for her son, leading t

After 2 full weeks of holidays in the Fraser Valley and on Vancouver Island it's time to come home. I gotta say though, I can't remember a holiday that has ever been so eventful. Vancouver Island really is the place to be in BC. I know Victoria and Nanaimo have high crime rates, but places like Coombs and Parksville are just plain wonderful. If you ever get a chance to go to Parksville and Rathtrevor Beach (pictured), by all means do it. Camp there or stay at a bread and breakfast. The tide goes over a kilometer out at the park and then comes in so fast that you can almost walk it in. Great times.Did anyone catch a glimpse of Trevor Linden wearing the possible new Canucks jersey in the Province yesterday (below)? Who does the Photoshopping at that paper? Terrible! I hope the jersey looks nothing like that because it is atrocious! What is going on at the elbows? It looks out of whack.T Tags: Parksville Canucks+new+jersey
"Your home page is the world's introduction to you and your company. Make it COUNT!" - Heidi RichardsThink of your home page as the cover of your brochure. It features exciting information about your company, but like a brochure it must be opened to reveal the rest of the message. It is connected to other pages in a way that allows other visitors to your site to move from one page to another by clicking on the highlighted text or images.Getting your home page up and running on the Internet requires design, operations, and the update of your information. Many Internet Service Providers offer home page construction for free, often with a standard format in their "host" package. This is an inexpensive way to get up and running more quickly on the Internet. In the beginning, it might be an option for your site. The options of design, operations, and update depend entirely on how much maintenance your site would require and how much information you want the surfer/customer to have. This article in the Elizabethton Star disturbed me. Photo by Larry N. StoudersA guard from Northeast Correctional Center was appalled this week when inmates under his watch exposed a shelter under the northbound bridge on Highway 19-E at East Side while mowing the median between the two bridges, where weeds and grass had grown several feet high. "This is really disgusting. It has been there for two or three years. I have told the city and county both about it, but nothing has been done," he said. It's one of those cases of where you have to see it to believe it. Underneath the south end span of the bridge, debris is in abundance. There are mattresses, slabs of foam padding, stacks of blankets, bottles and cans, cardboard, piece after piece of clothing, shoes, a rocking chair, ice chests, and a kerosene heater as well as assorted personal belongings. At first glance from the highway, it looked as if someone has dumped their trash, but upon closer inspection, it revealed m
I'm a contented lady. I am home. My children are in bed. I am looking forward to entering back into that state of being known as normal. It should be mundanely exciting. I can't wait.So many things to mention. First my bullet points:Saw the Oregon Coast. Gorgeous.Saw my first wild Grizzly bear. Make that two. In two different places. On two different days. Very cool. But I don't have pictures to prove it and no one else in my whole family saw them so I sort of feel like nobody is going to believe me.Saw mountain goats up close and personal.Got locked in the stall of a public restroom at the summit of a mountain pass and had to escape Jack Bauer Style by climbing over the top. I’ve been going over some videos on Youtube about Paradise Philippine Tourism and I fell in love with this one. The video is about some robots who traveled here on Earth because they were searching for two things - the all-sparks and banana.
And guess where they found lots of banana…you’ve guessed it right. Megatron died. Anyways, do you want some banana?
After two weeks on the west coast, Alex and I returned to Redding, Connecticut (where I grew up) this week. I’ll be spending the next three weeks in my childhood home with my parents and my sister. Since my parents are retired and my sister is also a teacher (finishing up her degree and living at home), we’re all home - every day, all day. As you can imagine, this can be a recipe for disaster, but so far things are working out well…
I am always amazed that every time I come home (even though it’s only once a year), it’s pretty much like I never left. Sure, things change a little every year, but for the most part, seeing friends and family feels like just yesterday. I love that feeling!
This summer has been especially lucky for us - we’ve been able to see so many of our friends (several of whom we haven’t seen for three or four years!). First, in San Francisco, I had dinner with one of my best friends from college, Heather:
Then, while in Ore

Happy Canada Day! We'll be spending Canada Day unpacking and running a few errands to get ready for the week. How about you?We got home last night. As the boat pulled away from Kurumba, I was so sad! I was anticipating some re-entry culture shock and I was just so sad to leave paradise. All in all, our flights went smoothly considering the flooding in Mumbai and the number of flights being rerouted. We had a few canceled, rescheduled, delayed flights but it was all handled very efficiently until we arrived in Trivandrum. They gave our seats away and weren't going to let us board. Luckily, we had an entourage on our return journey as well and that helped to get us on the flight. Actually, they held the flight while they discussed and redicussed what they would do. We got on the flight, although none of our seats were together. Arriving in Chennai, the jetway was installed at the door on the left side of the plane. We were disembarked on the right side of the plane and stood out on the
As much as I miss being on vacation, it’s sure great to finally be home.
Of course, our favorite place was Disneyland. It’s amazing to see so many people from all over the world and all walks of life come together to enjoy the Magic Kingdom. Not only is it a playground for children, but it also brings out the kid in all of us. Where else would you see grown adults walking around with Mickey hats and riding on a carousel. For some reason, you’re able to let go of all your inhibitions, act like a kid, and not care who’s watching.
Girlie Girl’s favorite thing was getting autographs from all the Disney Princesses and characters. Apparently, the princesses don’t walk around the park like the used to. Now you have to visit them at the Princess Fantasy Faire where you can meet them 3 at a time - you just don’t know which 3 will be there. So of course, we had to stand in line on three different occasions in hopes that there would be someone new.
I'm sorry to say that Emily was not as happy to be home as we were to have her home, but ... she is HOME none-the-less. If it were up to Emily, she would still be in the hospital. Shoot, who could blame her? Popsicles for breakfast, lunch and dinner....
I finally made it back, as hard as it was to leave, it was so sweet to get home. The boys were sleeping last night when I came in so I woke up to "Mommy! Mommy! You are home!. I got the three biggest hugs ever, it was awesome. I only got about 4 hours of sleep last night, so I am dragging some chains today, Call me the living dead girl if you may. lol. I was too busy and wired to sleep last night. hehe.I would have more pics of things, but my auntie copied the cd's wrong so they are blank, I am waiting on a zip file from her, so I could share some of the things she captured, the things I captured are on regular film *gasp* I know lol, but my digital cam was not working at the time.Ah I am exhausted, it is going to take me a week to get my body back to normal. chow!

There is nothing like Home Sweet Home! I am such a kind of girl who loves to live with my family. (It may sound strange to many I guess) but it is a fact that the moment I am done with my work, I can't wait to get back home! For the past few months, I had to stay in Chicago at my aunt's place for some project work. My aunt is a nice lady and she along with her kids kept me entertained all the time. But, still the thought of leaving my home, my parents kept on haunting me like anything. I don't know why but I am too attached with my family... just like a drug addiction I guess. LOL!! My Mom is a lady of high values. She stays at home and remains busy cooking and stitching. She also takes care of our pets. My Dad is a doctor and has to travel abroad now and then to attend seminars and conferences. Hence, its my Mom who looks after me and our pets. One of my friend, Polly had a quarrel with her Mom and is now staying in a girl's hostel. There are so many instances of guys and girls le
Well, I am now blogging from my home, not the college and I am celebrating Chinese New Year! Look at what I've got for my New Year! It's an Ipod Nano 4GB, can you believe it? I myself also don't believe it since I am not expecting this. I only thought of a Sony E-Series when I am in college as I have said in 'Seeking entertainment'.It's been a tough way back home. The car's air conditioning system broke halfway and and jam just made things worse. I have to go through a damp and hot 6 hours journey. I can't even stand properly when I get down from the car. It's worth it though because seeing all my families and I'll be visiting my old pals tonight as well. The feeling of refreshing memories and lecturing my stories is so wonderful and I can't stop talking as well...I may not blog so often these few days because of my Ipod and all the visiting activities that I've planned. Spending time with them is important for me as I may not be around for a long time for a long time to come

One of the things that my husband and I want more than anything in this life is to own our own home. Pride of ownership must be a good feeling. I know that times are tough right now for so many people who are struggling to keep their homes from foreclosure. It must be stressful. On (more)
