      Homage: Mercurial Vapor IV Green
      It's been a week to the day since we last saw Ronaldo take the field with his green Nike Mercurial Vapor's and it got me wondering if Nike were going to give anyone else a pair of coloured weapons to promote for the finals? I don't know the answer to that and only time will tell so just enjoy this compilation of images I've put together to pay homage to the man with the pine green boots even Robin

      You can call it plaguarism ... I call it paying homage !!!
      Last week was my birthday and I didn't feel very well waking up that morning. I went downstairs for breakfast hoping my wife would be pleasant and say, "Happy birthday!", and possibly have a present for me.As it turned out, she barely said good morning, let alone "Happy birthday".I thought... well, that's marriage for you, but the kids will remember. My kids ate breakfast and didn't say a

      Paris Hilton Fashion Pays Homage to… Paris Hilton
      Posted on May 22nd, 2008 2:18 pmWhat’s more common than finding Paris Hilton nude photos on the cover of random magazines? Shots of this talentless socialite decked out in clothing that pays homage to herself. As you can see in the large photo below - and the subsequent smaller images - Paris Hilton is nothing if not a big fan of Paris Hilton.

      New Concept Car: BMW M1 Homage
      This is the BMW M1 Homage, a concept created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the M1 and designed as a tribute to the classic Giugiaro-designed BMW supercar. The M1’s predecessor, the BMW Turbo concept designed by Paul Bracq, has also been used as inspiration for the M1 Homage concept. Chris Bangle, director of design for BMW, said, “For a company as for a product, it is important to be aware of one’s roots. In the spirit of Giugiaro and Bracq, the M1 Homage unites the BMW values of design and technology in a highly emotive and exciting interpretation.” You can see more pictures of the Homage and original M1 here, but the similarities with the mid-engined BMW supercar are obvious. The colour cites the classic orange, though it’s received a vivid metallic finish for

      Illustration Friday- Homage
      Here we have a Chickenpants drawn in the Kochalka style. Why?Because the third artist that popped into my head was James Kochalka. (Warhol? No screenprinting stuff. Picasso? Nah...Kochalka? Yes!)I admire his drawing style and tiny paintings, sure. But there's something about his daily American Elf comics that really strikes a chord in me. It no doubt has something to do with the voyeuristic pleasure one gets from going through another person's sketchbooks, or getting to see such a personal glimpse of how they live their lives. He lives in a wonderfully unconventional way. It's great to see snippets of other artist's lives- the good, the bad, the odd... Makes me feel less strange. So although I don't think his drawing style really influences me, his drawings absolutely do. They make me wan

      This week's theme for Illustration Friday is homage. I thought of doing all sorts of works for it, but in the end, I decided to revisit some of my older pieces. Well, I read it again and here it is. Stormin' Normin' sent it this way...my friend Cassy said it was sad, for a Very Special Reason. God Bless You Cassy.He was getting old and paunchy and his hair was falling fast,and he sat around the Legion telling stories of the past.Of the war he had fought in and the deeds that he had done.In his exploits with his buddies they were heroes, everyone.And 'tho sometimes, to his neighbors, his tales became a joke,all his buddies listened, for they knew whereof he spoke.But we'll hear his tales no longer, for ol' Bob has passed away,and the world's a little poorer for a veteran died today.No, he won't be mourned by many, just his children and his wife.For he lived an ordinary, very quiet sort of life. He held a job andraised a family, quietly going on his way;

      Sony Pays Homage to Warhawk Beta Testers
      Members of the Warhawk Public Beta have been very devoted and energetic, both in the game and on the forum, so Sony and the Warhawk dev team decided to say "thank you" in a particularly cool way. The top five beta testers (based on Team Points) and the top five forum posters (based on post count) had their screen names emblazoned on Warhawks and Nemesis aircrafts in a special Warhawk poster. Acknowledging the community is a fantastic idea, but I'm concerned that this will inspire a lot of "Put me in a game, too!!" forum spamming.Source: Playstation.Blog & Game|Life Online Games PS3 Sony Warhawk

      Homage to my bride. - from Tim
      Well - I wanted to pay a small tribute to the greatest woman I have ever known. . . My wife, the mother of my children. From the moment she entered my life she has been my best friend. To add to that, she agreed to spend the rest of her life with me. . . THE REST OF HER LIFE, PEOPLE!! That's HUGE!! But she didn't stop there. She also agreed to sacrifice her body for pretty much the rest of her natural life to carry, nurture, raise and love our children. . . That's even HUGER!! (can I even say that?) How can you NOT spend everyday of the rest of your life feeling deeply indebted to someone like that! Even today, Mother's Day, a day that is SUPPOSED to to be all about her - she sacrificed again. Elijah started breaking out in a rash right in the middle of her special day, so what does she do? She promptly calls the E.R. to get advice. Unphased by the ambiguity of the nurse - she promptly cut her excursion short to head over to the hospital to sit in some remote corner in th

      Paying homage to my advertisers...
      I am a little perturbed that St. George's University, arguably the top Caribbean medical school, isn't displaying ads on my website. I don't even have Ross, the close number 2! I've had some love from UAG in Mexico and ASUM in Aruba. So, I'd like to thank my advertisers for their support. I can add a little credibility to UAG. It has been around for nearly 70 years and has been home to many American students studying medicine abroad. It provided many Americans who were unable to gain admission to medical school in the United States an opportunity to pursue their dreams. In fact, one of the OBGYNs in my hometown went to UAG back in the 1980's. I think the 1980's was a particularly difficult time to get into medicine because it paid well and was a well-respected profession. It still is to some degree, but not like in the 1980's! I'd take a look their site. I like to use this forum to expose you to all of your potential options. UAG is a reputable medical school. Admissions are t

      Pierre Paulin. This exhibition is a homage to the ...
      Pierre Paulin. This exhibition is a homage to the talent of one of the most important French designers of the mid-20th century. In 1952, Pierre Paulin's first designs caught the attention at the Thonet firm through which he discovered and mastered new materials in the manner of the American designers Eames, Saarinen and Bertoia. It is only in 1956, after responding to harry Wagemans'invitation to join Artifort, that Paulin found the means and the support he needed to realize the production of his designs. In his concern for simplicity and refusal of any lyrical effect, his designs were given numbers. His innovate productions anticipated social revolutions through the lifestyles they encouraged. At the end of the 1960's, Paulin benefited from a close collaboration with the talented and inventive artisans of the new atelier of research and creation from "le Mobilier National", which coincided with the renovation of the Denon wing of the Musée du Louvre, the renovation of the private
