Repairing a hole in your wall is easier than you think and there is usually no need to call a handyman. Even large holes can be a do-it-yourself project. Here are some tips to repairing a hole in your wall. First off, you need to do some preparation and planning. Make sure you have the right tools for the job including putty knives, sandpaper with both course and fine grit and compound. Larger jobs will require more materials and tools such as drywall, drywall nails or screws and a trowel. Make sure that the area around the patch is clean so the compound will adhere to the wall. Next, you need to determine the best method for repairing the hole and this depends on the size of the hole. For small holes that are no larger than a dime, e.g. nail and screw holes, all you need to do is patch it

It's one of the most prized, and hardest shots in golf: a hole in one, or an ace. Imagine if someone did it not once, but twice on consecutive holes. For Ted Kemp, that's exactly what happened to him.At the Muscatine Municipal Golf Course in Iowa, Kemp scored back-to-back holes in one, both par 3 holes, with one 130 yards and the other 182 yards. Kemp used a pitching wedge for the 130 yard hole, and an 8-iron for the 182 yard hole.Golf Digest did a study in 2000, and concluded that the odds of getting two holes in one in the same round is about 67 million to one. As for Kemp, he finished his day with a score of 78, citing the two holes in one as "pretty unreal." Source: Yahoo

Everyone of us has his own place, has his own mission here in the world? The picture above contains lot of holes. I see holes as opportunities in life. No matter how we try and try, if it's not intended for us then it would not be for us. No matter how you fit yourself to this opportunity if it was not planned to be for you then it will not be yours. Just like the holes above, if you try to put something on that hole that is to small or that is too big, no matter how much effort you will be exerting still it won't fit because there is one intended to fit that hole, its perfect match. Sometimes, if you force something to put on that hole, you end up losing them for they might give up and be broken.I believe that each of us has his own opportunity. An opportunity that is planned, just like
When I came home yesterday from my meditation getaway I found all the holes cut out on the kitchen ceiling for the can lights and the support beam has been sheetrocked and coated with joint compound. The dust that was spinning around while drilling those holes was unreal, so I hear. I can still smell it. I am glad I missed that part. There is no compound left so in order to continue finishing the ceiling and the walls we have to re-stock. Perhaps I do some plant research in the meantime.
From "Homing in on Black Holes" (Smithsonian, April 2008):Without question, the Milky Way's black hole is the strangest thing in our galaxy—a three-dimensional cavity in space just ten times the physical size of our sun but with four million times the mass, a virtual bottomless pit from which nothing can escape. Every major galaxy, it turns out, has a black hole at its core. Now, for the first time, scientists have the chance to study the havoc these mind-boggling entities wreak. For the next decade, Keck astronomers will track thousands of stars caught in the gravity of the Milky Way's black hole. They will try to figure out how stars are born close to the black hole and how it distorts the fabric of space itself. "I find it amazing that we can see stars whipping around our galaxy's bla

One of the central ingredients of Web 2.0 applications is Ajax encompassed by JavaScripts. This phase of evolution has transformed the Web into a superplatform. Not surprisingly, this transformation has also given rise to a new breed of worms and viruses such as Yamanner, Samy and Spaceflash. These vulnerabilities can be leveraged by attackers to perform Phishing, Cross-site Scripting (XSS) and Cross-Site Request Forgery (XSRF) exploitation. There is no inherent security weakness in Ajax but adaptation of this technology vector has changed the Web application development approach and methodology significantly. The short answer is no: the so-called "relativistic mass increase" doesn't really exist, because higher velocities don't really increase the mass of the object (it's just a shorthand way to calculate the relativistic change to energy and momentum). ClassicalMusicNews.tv blogger John Grillo has just put out a very interesting post about the discovery a few years ago that a Bb 52 octaves lower than the piano was emanating from the Perseus cluster of galaxies. John writes:
Throughout history, music and astronomy have always gone hand in hand. Man has stood gazing at the heavens and has pondered the natural world as long as we were able to do so. In the days of Ancient Greece, Pythagoras and Plato philosophized often about the Music of the Spheres. This concept was that planets orbiting around the earth produced a wonderful sound. Every celestial body had a specific ratio of distance just like the musical scale. Thus what we are left with is the divine harmony of the heavens. Galileo was raised in a musical family. Countless paintings adorn the world's most breathtaking cathedrals with the pictures of angles playing music. With the glorious sounds of trumpets and harps, the music was in the clouds. I've hit a few pot holes lately. We organised a BBQ at the school for federal election day as it is a polling place and heaps of hungry people come in and out all day. We were hoping to make a few quid for the school so Lisa and I put a lot of effort into ensuring that everything was sorted and ready to go. I turned up at 9am on election day to meet the groundsman so that he could unlock a few doors and get the school's BBQ out for me only to find the local footy club already setup and selling what looked to be very tasty egg and bacon rolls. Apparently the school had forgotten that they had given them the OK to setup in the same spot a few weeks before we asked. There was no point in us setting up beside them as we would have been out in the full sun and no one would have walked past us so we pulled the plug and went home. What a waste of effort! We split most of the food and drink up between us at cost and ended up loosing only about $40 on the day. Then I was invited to repr

State auditors found several problems with New College's tracking of finances, employee travel and cell phone use, according to a just-released operational audit for the budget year ending June 30, 2007.
The State Auditor General also found that New College officials did not properly verify whether some students are Florida residents, a fact that determines how much tuition they pay. Moreover, the tiny public liberal arts college in Sarasota obtained insurance for some campus buildings that far exceeded the facilities' actual value.
New College administrators have responded to the audit, saying they concur with the findings and are implementing the fixes that auditors recommended.
Among the audit's findings:
Finance journal entries are not reviewed by supervisors.
A test of records for 20 random students found that for six of them, New College did not have the documents required to prove Florida residency.
New College does not have a policy requiring background or fingerprint

Summary:
Late yesterday, the Mozilla Foundation released an update to fix ten security vulnerabilities in Firefox 2.0.0.7, for Windows, Linux, and Macintosh. If one of your Firefox users visits a malicious web page, an attacker could exploit the worst of these vulnerabilities to execute code on your user’s computer, with your user’s privileges, possibly gaining complete control of the computer. If you run Firefox on any platform, you should download and deploy version 2.0.0.8 at your earliest convenience.

Yesterday, the Mozilla Foundation released Firefox 2.0.0.8, fixing ten security vulnerabilities in the popular web browser. We summarize the three most critical vulnerabilities below:
Two memory corruption vulnerabilities. Firefox suffers from two unspecified crash bugs, which corrupt memory. Mozilla presumes that with enough effort some of these memory corruption flaws could be exploited to run arbitrary code. To exploit thes
The bright dot near the center was seen to flicker and brighten dramatically for a few minutes. If theories of their existence are true, black holes are the most powerful force in the known physical universe. Many people are familiar with the term black hole, but few people actually know anything about them. A black hole forms as a result of a massive star running out of fuel to burn (Chaisson, 193). Once the star is no longer exerting outward force by burning off gases, it begins to collapse under it’s own intense, inward gravity (Chaisson, 193). It is like slowly letting the air out of a balloon. Once the star is compacted to a certain size, while it’s mass, or weight, remains the same, it’s gravity becomes so powerful that noth

OK, maybe it doesn’t actually stink, but I don’t like it.
I had a boyfriend once who wore holey underwear. I used to come over to his place with new pairs and sneak them into his drawer. The first time he noticed right away saying: “I prefer Calvin Klein, not Hanes.”
“I don’t care what you like; just wear some without so many holes,” I said.
He didn’t. I came over a few days later to find him in front of the TV in his underwear with holes.
I decided to try again. I bought a three pack of Calvins and snuck those in his drawer too. Again he noticed pretty quick and said, “I only like gray, I’ll never wear white.”
“I don’t care what you like; just wear some without so many holes.”
Again, he kept wearing the holey underwear never letting go of what I thought should be embarrassing. He wasn’t embarrassed.
A third time I brought over three brand new, freshly washed, gray Calvin Klein boxer briefs. I was certain this would be a successful feat. I nonchalantly o

I am not one to eat donuts on a regular day but today is special. Today I received the fruits of a bet with Glennis, our new Director of HR. Last week Glennis came to me with a request to purchase an applicant tracking system that ran about $1600 a month. She had worked with the same system before in her previous role at some big companies. I told her that I bet that there was free software that did the most important 80% of what she needed. She looked at me dumbfounded. "FREE!?!?!" No way. "Yes way"... "No way" this went on for a good bit. Finally we made a bet, the loser had to buy the winner donuts holes.
Sure enough, there is an awesome little open source application called CATS that provides a robust set of applicant tracking features for HR departments. I kind of feel like I cheated a bit. Glennis isn't as familiar with the world of open source as I am. She comes from companies with huge IT teams

If someone was to ask you what black holes are, could you give them the answer. For those of you who just want to have the simple explanation as to what a black hole is then read on. A black hole is formed when a massive star dies.
We know that a star is just one massive fusion reactor, these stars are just a big ball of gas which is always trying to rip itself apart, but an intense gravitational field keeps the star stable. The core of the Star or sun is one huge fusion bomb which is trying to go off, but the gravitational forces offers a balance to keep the star from exploding, and it also defines the size of the star as well.
But as the star starts to die, the nuclear fusion needed to keep things stable stop as the fuel needed has burnt itself out. This then starts of a chain reaction of events, the stars gravity starts to pull material inward, and this then compresses the core.
As the core starts to compress things start to heat up, this then causes the star to go supernova. This
All About Black HolesThe anomalous black holes are concentrated areas of mass so immense, that the mammoth force of gravity denies anything within a certain area around it from passing. This area is called the event horizon of a black hole. We have given black holes their name because light inside the event horizon can never be seen by mankind, or any outside observer. We believe that black holes in space are created by the collapse of a red super giant star. As these stars reach the end of their lives, an imbalance of inward and outward pressure forces the star to collapse. Information on black holes is limited, though numerous schools of theory exist. We know black holes exist not because we can see them, but because of the impact they have on the space around them. Scientists like Karl Schwarzschild, Jayant Narlikar and Stephen Hawking have built upon ideas from Einstein and others to offer theories on black holes. And yet, they remain an enigma. Because extensive, proven black hole
Well, I finally shared my testimony in church on Sunday and here yesterday. It was actually very difficult for me to write and there were many personal aspects and stories that I could have shared that might have changed the feel of it, but it is my testimony.
The wonderful Mei shared a comment with us a couple of days ago in which she stated “very often we decide who we want to ‘target’ rather than showing God’s love to all.” I confess, in writing my testimony and the entries in my blog, I have a target audience. While I always hope that what I have to say is acceptable, helpful and encouraging to mature Christians, my writing is more for those who are in the process of learning or who have preset notions about Christianity and Christians. I wrote my testimony to show that you do not have to be a Christian at the beginning of the process. God meets us where we are - no matter where that is. He shapes us and molds us in His kingdom as He sees fit and you should never

I want an iPhone
I want an iPhone. I do.
I can’t think of any real reason why I should have an iPhone and I
certainly can’t think of any reasons why I NEED an iPhone, but I want one and
desire can be a powerful thing.
Especially when desire is combined with mobility and availability and
credit cards and a husband that knows that all he really needs to do to get an
iPhone out of me is drive me to an Apple store and say, “Hey, look, an iPh…”
Come
to think of it, The Husband’s birthday is coming up in August…Maybe HE needs an
iPhone. Of course, he just got a new
cell phone, so I suppose he wouldn’t be able to use it until his current
contract expires. Still, perhaps I
could think of something to do with it until then…
Starlight by Muse
Far away
The ship is taking me far away
Far away from my memories
Of the people who care if I live or die
Starlight
I will be chasing your starlight
Until the end of my life
I don’t know if it’s worth it anymore
And hold you in my arms
I just wanted to hold
You in my arms
My life
You electrify my life
Lets conspire to re-ignite
All the souls that would die just to feel alive
But I’ll never let you go
If you promise not to fade away
Never fade away
Our hopes and expectations
Black holes and revelations
Our hopes and expectations
Black holes and revelations
Hold you in my arms
I just wanted to hold
You in my arms
Far away
The ship is taking me far away
Far away from my memories
Of the people who care if I live or die
I’ll never let you go
If you promise not to fade away
Never fade away
Our hopes and expectations
Black holes and revelations
Yeah
Our hopes and expectations
Black holes and revelations
Hold you in my arms
I just wanted to hold
You i
It used to be a common preaching point by environmentalists that the U.S. is the number one contributor of CO2, the greenhouse gas that is supposed to be the cause of human induced climate change, or global warming. That is no longer true, China has overtook us by 7.5%. The United States has received criticism [...]
Researchers have been charting the rise in threats created by a new software exploit tool known as “Mpack,” a virtual attack kit designed to be embedded in hacked or malicious Web sites. It targets security holes in multiple software products, including Apple’s QuickTime media player, and outdated Windows plug-ins for Mozilla’s Firefox and [...]
