Dr. Benjamin Wiker has written a very prescient and timely book titled: "10 Books that Screwed up the World: And 5 Others that Didn't Help" (Regnery, 2008).SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: "How Thomas Hobbes is helping destroy America", url: "-hobbes-helping-destroy-america/" });

Wow – was this book a reality-check.Sure, this collection of the popular newspaper cartoon strips is an apathetic muddle (they really should have grouped the snow strips together, and put the haircut storyline last), but Calvin’s diversely-conceived world still shines through as a place where you want to be.In a nutshell, Calvin and Hobbes transports you back to childhood. When days were long
Publicity shy Bill Watterson, the creator of Calvin and Hobbes, will have a movie made about him. This documentary will explore the world of Calvin and Hobbes and the seclusive artist, but the film will be void of Bill, the film will focus on the effect the strip had on people. This should be an exciting project. Dear Mr. Watterson is the title of the movie, and should quench the thirst of his many fans. (more…)

Calvin and Hobbes TV show? Maybe not in our lifetime, or Bill Watterson’s, the creator of Calvin and Hobbes . The man is sitting on his book reprints and hording a handsome amount of money. Donato Di Carlo at the CFP Milano film school lets our imagination wander to a far flung TV station that would nest an illegal show like this. Just don’t tell Bill, he might shut down this mock show.sandbox world, tony medeiros

Gregory E. Favre wrote two years ago on Poynter Online about Calvin and Hobbes, one of the best comic strips I read years before, and have some of the collections, that sadly only ran about a decade, from late 1985 to early 1996. It's a real shame it didn't last longer than it could've, because it was definitely a work of brilliance that Bill Watterson had. Calvin posing as Spaceman Spiff, becoming weightless, growing big and falling off the planet, and, lest we forget, thinking that his stuffed tiger, Hobbes, was real.
