Princess and I ventured outside to the back yard to have fun on her play set. When she got to her slide a horrified look came across her face as she yelled out, “Mommy, there’s pee on my slide!”
Normally Screw Ball will leave her play set alone but The Runner is visiting with my mom. When the two male dogs get together a little marking goes on, even though all of our dogs have been altered.
I knew I had to act quickly if I wanted to keep the tears at bay. I turned to Princess and said the magical words “Let’s get the hose and rinse it off.” Oooo! The hose! No toddler can resist the magical happiness of a garden hose. This cheered her up.
We went over to the hose box at the side of the house. I handed Princess the end with the nozzle and told her to take it over to the slide. As she walked the business end over to the slide I pulled the hose out of the box.

Memorial Day marks the start of summer -- and the start of the summer associate stories. This year, I won't have scotch tastings or sailing trips to amuse myself with, so I'll have to live vicariously through others.
