I wonder if its a reaction to the embarrassment of a few days ago that has caused Gordon Brown to make his latest Public Relations move? For those that missed the first story, which was well publicised at the time in the London papers, Gordon Brown somehow endorsed tourist travel to Fiji. Furthermore the picture used and which is still on the Fiji website shows Gordon with a bright red flower behind his ear. In case any Londoners missed this, it was helpfully projected onto the side of the Houses of Parliament during the week as well by some people protesting about this type of Prime Ministerial endorsement. Neighbouring countries to Fiji, such as Australia and New Zealand are particularly aggrieved because of the military dictatorship currently running Fiji, since the coup in 2006. And of

TROPICAL HIBISCUS and SLEEPING LIONS - LILLY PULITZER SWIMSUITS
What's ruffled, precious and covered in sweet tropical hibiscus flowers? Well, your little girl will be if you want her to be as stylish and trendy at the beach this summer! Lilly Pulitzer is the prize winning author of the book in charge of the "what's fashionable in kids' swimsuits" book! Every fabric she touches turns to pure Hawaiian (or is it Florida?) gold. From bikinis to bike shorts, her creations are masterpieces in pink flamingo, starfish and other patterns that have to do with days at the sea. I love clothing with sea horses and ocean critter motifs as much as the next swimmer, but what I truly adore about Lilly's clothing lines are very much in evidence in these tiny toddler swimsuits for girls; the colors! The shades of pink and lime green that she uses on the bathing su

One common name for this plant is 'Flower-of-an-hour because of the short-lived blooms. This plant appeared in my garden last year but I'm not sure where it came from as I don't remember seeing it previously. People would comment on a flower they saw growing in my garden and inquire about it's name but I couldn't figure out what flower they were referring to. Then one day I got up and checked on the garden earlier than usual and was surprised to find dozens of these whitish yellow blooms. The blooms are beautiful and the purple centers really make them stand out.By 11 that same morning the blooms had all withered and died.
