Reuben Hersh - What Is Mathematics, Really?
Reuben Hersh - What Is Mathematics, Really? Most philosophers of mathematics treat it as isolated, timeless, ahistorical, inhuman. Reuben Hersh argues the contrary, that mathematics must be understood as a human activity, a social phenomenon, part of human culture, historically evolved, and intelligible only in a social context. Hersh pulls the screen back to reveal mathematics as seen by

      Seymour Hersh, Professional Liar
The work of Seymour Hersh, journalist extraordinaire, often comes in for praise for its fearless revelations about the covert criminality of the US government. Hersh, reads the blurb on the back of his latest book, “reveals the stories the others can’t -- or won’t -- get.” Yet an intelligent reading of Hersh’s work, especially his most rec...

      Jaye Hersh bags
As written on http://www.shopintuition.com/product.asp?pid=16300:"Celebrity fans already include Reese Witherspoon, Eva Longoria, Vanessa Minnillo, Jessica Alba, Lindsay Lohan, and Jessica Simpson." ...yes, we know. We've seen. Everywhere. These. Awful. Bags. OK, so they're better than the Vuitton versions from a season or two back, and the cause for the Jaye Hersh bags is brilliant. I definitely approve of that, and it's a very clever idea of the woman's. However I'm thinking that once again this could just be another 'I'm not a plastic bag' fever, where celebs just want to be seen doing (toting) the right thing, when actually they could donate a lot more and just continue wearing their normal bags (and anyway, let's face it, it's most likely that the new Market Place bags will be off the celebs' arms and onto our very own eBay market place before long). However I mustn't grumble, as any donation and awareness-raising is better than none. So anyway, what do you think? Take

Kristin Hersh - Hips And Makers
Hersh dug into her backlog of compositions for material of an intensely personal nature that she felt wouldn't be suitable for her band on her solo debut. In stark contrast to her work with Throwing Muses, Hips and Makers (1994) is almost entirely acoustic. The album opener "Your Ghost" offers a magical acustic taste with R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe and it's the best song. And also i love the title song Hips And Makers. I love this record, what should i say more about it?Kristin Hersh - Your Ghost (beautiful song!)Kristin Hersh - Hips And MakersYou can buy this record from 4adyou may also like:Kristin Hersh - Learn To Sing Like A Star

Seymour Hersh on 'the Madness of King George'
"One fact is beyond controversy – President Bush has demolished many of the assumed legislative and constitutional limits on his power and given all of us a primer on how fragile the American Democracy is. None of the institutions meant to protect us from a domineering executive worked. Congress, which was controlled by the Republicans through the first six years of the Bush Presidency, utterly failed to fulfill its Constitutional role, and failed to provide any oversight of the White House’s political and military actions. The senior leadership of the military did not stand up to the President’s irrational decision to take the fight against Osama bin Laden to secular Iraq – many senior officers became, in fact, public cheerleaders for the madness of King George."
