No More Heroes is unlike anything... blah blah blah. I've already said this. The great thing about this game is how quirky it is and how crazy the story line is. It is not overly dramatic or complicated, though it does not really explain much. It leaves a lot to the imagination in the way of how the main character, Travis Touchdown (who has nothing to do with football), got a light saber (or as the game calls it, a "beam katana") or exactly why he kills in the first place (though that's sort of explained, not really though). Something that ties into both the story line and the game play is the humor of it. This game is one of the funniest games I have ever played. This week's 10 on Tuesday - my 10 heroes/idols from when I was a kid. I don't know if I will be able to think of 10, but I'll give it a shot.
1. My Dad (of course). He did pretty much anything and everything for my sister and I from taking us to the library, fishing, driving me and my friend miles each weekend to ride our horses and taking my sister and I to the park most afternoons to "catch" magpies with the bird traps he showed us how to make. Of course I realise that no way on earth would we ever catch any, but he was always more than happy to take us. On top of that he did most of the housework and cooking and worked a 48 hour week to put food on our table. And he put up with my mother. That really deserves a medal!
2. The unnamed lifesaver who rescued my sister and I from the surf after we got caught in a rip on our surf mattress. I still remember the embarassment of being hauled onto the beach like a drowned rat to this day.

August 9 2006We arrived in Dublin around 9:30 this a.m. Paul's old friends, Sarah and Tom, were waiting for us. I had only exchanged one email with Sarah and did not have any real impression of her. She greeted me with a warm hug and kiss and Tom was also very warm. I knew right away everything would be good. After we arrived at their house and were given the house tour we soon were taken on the local tour around Rush and other nearby villages. The sea was always around the bend, the weather very mild, probably upper sixties with a cool wind and light rain. We visited Ardgillan castle with wonderful, flower, herb and vegetables gardens and acres of green lawn freely used for gatherings. Multi colored, cascading flowers were everywhere.
