Good story I can TOTALLY relate to. Why is it that husbands INSIST on being a hero for the coworker, the stranger, the plumber, whomever else…but not the wifey. And my VERY favorite is when the husband’s “heroism” is not even very helpful to anyone, PLUS creates problems for his wife and family.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Will Smith's box-office superpowers remain intact. Smith's "Hancock" — the story of a boozing, foul-mouthed superhero who dresses like a street bum — led the Fourth of July weekend with a $66 million debut, according to studio estimates Sunday. That raised the total for Sony's "Hancock" to $107.3 million since it opened Tuesday night to get a jump on the holiday. It was a fa

Happy free Heroic Map Pack day everyone! For those with a little patience, you'll be rewarded today with Halo 3's former $10 set of maps for the cost of air (but not PerriAir; that the Spaceballs still charge for). The pack includes Standoff, Rat's Nest and Foundry. While we'd love to tell you all about these levels, we're getting our first taste of them today. With all that said, there's currently a hiccup in the system and the content - which was supposed to be free at 2AM pacific last night - is still listed for $10 on Xbox Live Marketplace. Bungie's forum has a nice thread (about to break 100 pages) on the issue and we're trying to get an answer from Major Nelson for the Microsoft angle. We'll update when the map pack actually becomes, you know ... free.Gallery: Halo 3 - Heroic Ma

After a seemingly endless wait, the Halo 3 “Heroic” map pack is now free to download from the Xbox Live Marketplace. A little too late in my opinion, Bungie should of initially released it for free to hedge against COD4’s now rampant popularity, and now they have to suffer in second place. Regardless, its [...]

The Halo 3 Heroic Map Pack is already up for grabs via the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. You can download the whole pack or just one map at a time. Each map goes for 800 Microsoft Points. The three maps are: Standoff, Rat's Nest, Foundry. The Heroic Map Pack is the first in a series of downloadable content from Bungie Studios. Here's a rundown of what you're prepping to download, in terms of individual features for every map.Standoff - a symmetrical valley: its entrenched bases and fields of boulders are ideal for mid-sized objectives and Slayer game types.Rat's Nest - vast, labyrinthine passages bring something new to the Halo multiplayer experience: an indoor vehicle paradise, strongly influenced by the Campaign mode, ideal for big team battles. Hey folks, figured I would pop my head in to share something as a new writer for the site here is being figured out (Applications still being accepted!). I love how to this day, KoToR 3 talk still persists and some peoples Xbox 360’s are being wrapped in towels, awesome.
Onto the news, the Halo 3 map pack is out. With it came the news that it will be free at some point. Awesome. Unlike Lost Planet, they never tell you that the things you buy would eventually be free!!! Ahem..apologies for that outburst, that is buyers remorse talking. Well if you want to buy now, it actually seems like a pretty decent set of maps. Want a little preview of them before buying ? Of course you do, so here is the great guys at Red vs Blue showing off the new DLC:

Bungie has released images of the three new maps included in the Heroic Map Pack, to be released on December 11 for 800 Microsoft Points. Here are some details on each map:This map is the biggest of the three. Modeled after the Crow’s Nest level of the campaign, this big team-inspired map has a wide outer track, intended for Warthog and Mongoose action, that leads to each base. In the center you’ll find multi-layered courtyards, hallways and plenty of rooms.A middle-sized, symmetrical map with an African theme, perfect for four-on-four Team Objectives. It sports two identical bases separated by a ravine and surrounded by pathways for some vehicular mayhem. Each base has two entrances and a locked third entrance tunnel opened only by activating a switch. There’s a machine gun turret on top of each base to cream any fool running around in the open.A vast warehouse filled with stairs, boxes, ramps and all sorts of weapons. This map was made with Forge fans in mind, so everything can

As I write this I have only watched 12 of an estimated 26 episodes of this series. What are my thoughts? Do I like or hate it? What is Heroic age all about? Continue reading if you interested.
The story for Heroic Age evolves around the powerful Golden Tribe who summoned three primitive races from the far reaches of the galaxy. These three races are the Silver Tribe and arrogant group who are the most advanced of the lesser tribes, the Bronze Tribe an aggressive insect-like species who although it is unclear at this time seem to be under the command of the silver tribe and the Iron Tribe aka Humans, the most primitive of the tribes and enemies of the silver and bronze tribes.
The anime starts with the princess of the iron tribe Deianeira traversing the far reaches of the galaxy looking to find her races savior or Nodos in order to tip the balance of power in the galaxy in their favor and to fulfill some long boring prophecy the most important parts of w

Bad sportswriters habitually concoct shocking, counterintuitive topics for their columns, hoping that the very idiocy of their ideas will attract readers who want to verify for themselves whether or not said authors could really be that stupid--a reaction somewhat akin to rubber-necking a gruesome car crash. The fact that these guys keep their jobs year after year leads me to believe that the tactic does attract readers; I, for one, am drawn inexorably to these columns, though that could just be because I write for a blog devoted to them. On second thought, it's far more likely that I write for this blog because I'm so drawn to them. But although these columns may increase the audience and fame of their authors, the inescapable fact remains that they're still utterly ludicrous. To illustrate this phenomenon, I present you withe the latest from Philadelphia Daily News' Sam Donnellon. Here's the headline:Thanks, Barry, for Being Baseball's SaviorSam Donnellon said what? The Tonys are less than one week away. Let the countdown begin!BroadwayWorld announces that Jennifer Ehle, along with many other actors, will be making a special appearance at the free outdoor concert "Stars in the Alley." This event will take place in Shubert Alley (West 44th St., West of 7th Ave) on Wednesday June 6th at 11:00am. According to the Stars in the Alley website, this concert "features performances and special appearances by cast members from Broadway's most popular musicals and plays." How would YOU like to read inspiring stories about everyday heroes... Every day?
I'm talking about stories that will make your heart glow -- and remind you that warmth and kindness really DOES exist outside of your own mind.

I was watching Heroes the other night on TV. If you have not
ever seen it, it is on Monday nights on NBC. It is a pretty
good show with the main premise of ordinary people who woke
up one morning with extraordinary powers, eventually leading
up to trying to save the world from an bomb that will
destroy New York City. As the tagline goes “Save the
Cheerleader. Save the World.” I have seen a number of the
episodes, but I have not followed it too closely.
This past week’s episode that I caught was about traveling
forward in time five years, showing what happened if the
bomb was not prevented in the present day. The episode was
packed full of the normal superhero action and excitement -
invisibility, flying, shapeshifting, psychokenisis, etc.
There was even a scene when Parkman pulls out a taser and
zaps Hiro unconscious. Of course, that scene was the one
that registered the most with me. Hey, I sell those, I
thought to myself. At the end of the episode, I turned to

Katharine McPhee!before anyone gets all heroic and starts defending her franticly i just wanna say that i was rooting for her and wanted her to win rather than taylor hicks "who bores me to death" but her album which leaked a while ago "I'm sure everyone who knows what a music forum & bitorrent" is already have it, it's just not that good.. Too predictable! Super mainstream if i may say kinda reminds me of how i felt when i was anticipating "Shayne Ward"s album and then when it leaked i wasn't that excited at all.. actually i haven't played it ever since.. "Over It" greatly reminds me of Jojo's "Too Little, Too Late" & i love it but the rest of the tracks are just radio friendly rhythm pop (& i'm sure it's what she was aiming for. After all the whole point is selling) but it lacks the edge which "Kelly Clarkson" managed to conquer & she is not putting her fully vocal range to use on this album. The only reason why i will be playing it beside the fact that i love "Over It" is tha
Heroica Brass is the only brass ensemble dedicated to classical music in the city of Cartagena de Indias in Colombia. Not that our ensemble considers itself very heroic, but this trait distinguishes the city where we are playing: Cartagena de Indias, also known as “the heroic”, withstood several pirate and British Marine attacks back in its founding years around 1550. This is also about the time when most of the pieces we play were composed, but in Europe. The ensemble was started in early 2006 by our horn player Thomas Hürlimann. He had been searching for a brass group since 2004 to play baroque music in the tradition of the great Philip Jones Brass Ensemble, and could not find any existing group; therefore the only solution was to build a new ensemble especially for this type of music.Heroica Brass plays concerts with works for 4 to 8 brasswind musicians from composers of the renaissance, baroque or classical period. We play mostly in big churches because of the acoustic, but th

Chuck Norris was the reason I started studying martial arts back in 1973. He continues to inspire me today. Not many celebrities would risk career or social status to oppose the culture of death. In fact, there are Catholics who succumb to fear of being disliked and who refuse to oppose abortion.
