John Hemming MP and his Band of Compensation Seekers.Bill Bache's Blue Tie matches his Legal Aid Bank BalanceWe often wonder what MPs do in the world apart from bed hop. When it comes to doctors in trouble, we have never seen them do anything constructive. When it comes to fuddled campaigners like Penny Mellor, we see her knight in shining armour John Hemming MP ride on his horse to save her. John
Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of representing the Holocaust in graphic novel form such as Maus II.
By Phil Hemming
The Holocaust, an event that marks the twentieth century and echoes historically, culturally and emotionally right up to the present day, is one that demands constant reiteration to each new generation as a warning from history. However, the mode this warning is presented in is subject to debate and discussion. Is it that, in the words of Adorno, ‘to write poetry after Auschwitz is barbaric’? Does he mean literally or metaphorically and is no degree of aesthetification to be permitted, that the only portrayal is from the testimonies of survivors? Cutter believes that “experiments at variety-even expe
Maria Ahmed writes a interesting summary of the impact of John Hemming MP's comments on social workers. If any social workers are reading this blog post, please will you make your way to the excellent Child Minder website to weigh into the debate.Maria is right - social workers are actually a group of professionals who work hard for a living. Their work environment is tough and they often have judgment calls to make in the protection of the vulnerable. John Hemming MP on the other hand judges these group of professionals in his usual style failing to comprehend that they simply do their best in a tough terrain. Seriously, what would he prefer - that the child is not taken away but abused by the relative? John Hemming's own personal life seems to cloud his judgment on these issues. Having dubbed social workers as child snatchers, he continues to propagate negative publicity for a profession who are trying to do their job. In any case, from my point of view and having been involved in
Represented by John Hemming MP Christine Hemming MP did say that her old baggy version of Paul McCartney ( John Hemming MP) would be floating around a Neonatal Physiology book this summer attempting to master the details of the issues at hand. Actually, Mr Hemming was spotted hanging out with the riff raff on the MSBP.com board hoping some inspiration will hit his neurones from Dr Penny Mellor either by osmosis or diffusion depending on how much hot air is around this summer. The equation is simple - no effort and grafting at the books means Mr Hemming is laughed at by the entire population of scientists and medics. This is the problem with taking all Mellor says as gospel. The Gospel according to Saint Mellor of Covern much like the bible isn't exactly accurate. The actual problem with John is that he listens to Penny Mellor far far too much. The problem with supertopheavyGMCcomplainer Penny Mellor is that most of the time she misses essential bits of information. It is for this reas
I have often wondered how far John Hemming will go to twist the facts. It is interesting how both Penny Mellor and John Hemming MP twist the words that are actually being said. This was the reason certain questions were put to them to review how they interpret it. The responses are placed here as the Guardian has shut the section down. There are a few issues here1. Mr Hemming MP is unable to reply to the issues raised with him. His ego is too big to fit through any door of reasonable size. 2. Both Mr Hemming and Ms Mellor have been unable to deny any affair between the two. I am positive there has never been an affair between the two but it would be simple for them to deny it. 3. Ms Mellor does not want the entire world to know that she has complained against me and Lisa Blakemore Brown to the BPS and the GMC respectively. Indeed, Hemming MP keeps away from the antics of his fellow dream team. The Guardian features the running argument and questions between Mr Hemming MP and myself. "H
This morning I woke up to read Christine Hemming's amazing response. I have republished it below but copyright remains with Christine herself. I hope she will not mind me commenting on it. I am indeed full of admiration for this lady who can argue far better than her husband and actually should follow in the footsteps of Hilary Clinton and stand against her husband as MP for Yardley. We would indeed all back her 100 percent. John Hemming MP - if you are reading this - you should actually appreciate what you have at home and stop chasing these half witted bits of skirt around the place. Your wife is worth 1000 times more than any of the women you have had affairs with. I do though hope that you see sense and give her the respect she deserves - that is complete devotion. If you feel that is hypercritical of me then so be it but one can only admire a lady who formulates a response as listed below. As Paul Marsden will probably tell you if you know him - a politician who gains the respect
There is one issue Hemming MP seems to fail to tell the rest of parliament. The issue his about his contact with arch superbunnytopheavyGMCcomplainer Ms Penny Mellor. This is an email I recieved from current and past MSBP.com poster. This is what they had to say."Hemmings came on to MAMA a couple of years ago I think end of 2003/4 but well after I was there. A surprise really but most people had heard of him. Mellor had mentioned him within posts but I guess we all knew he was an MP. She has a big thing about secrecy and the family courts. It mostly the gagging of parents even if they win.He is hot on this as you have seen from newspapers. Gradually on the MAMA it was Hemmings this and Hemmings that. He came in really big about the time of the Consensus. MC brought a thread in about Consensus it was just about contacting certain MP's. Mellor came in and said we all HAD to go through Hemmings as the rest were not safe. I deduced that Hemmings and her were linked but to be honest I had a
Mr Hemming MP is currently starring in the Guardian. As we have pointed out, Mr Hemming likes to think of himself as " better than a doctor". I have noticed though that he has substantial evidential misinterpretations in science. Of course, who are we to correct him at all. Well, it might be tempting to hop over to the Guardian to dissect his scientific arguments completely. I was actually chortling at some of them. Nevertheless, I wanted to examine his manner of suppressing free speech. 6.8.2007 the editor of 24 Dash told me the following "Can I also ask that you refrain from repeatedly making comments about John Hemming!"7.8.2007 the editor wrote this to me " John Hemming has apologised to 24dash for posting anything that may be construed as defamatory (even though his comments were made in the House of Commons and consequently have absolute privilege) and hopefully that will be the end of the matter from his point of view" The above was after an argument over grossly defamatory stat
The devilishly handsome and dashing Jonathan Gornall has written another brilliant piece in the Guardian newspapers. He asks the question whether Hemming's Way is misleading? The amusing piece carefully crafted and wonderfully written far exceeds in quality when compared to Brian Morgan's scribblings. Morgan, the beleaguered Welsh journalist found camping on NHS Exposed blog with clenched teeth probably developing TMJ problems can hardly compare to the debonaire ( and devilishly handsome) complete with accessory clipped English accent - Microwave Man aka Jonathan Gornall. Infact, Jonathan leads ahead of Morgan and Hemming in his charm and eloquence. We have no idea what the 20 odd women saw in Hemming apart from his bank balance. 11/10 women opted for Gornall and no one voted for the others. Jonathan is known within the gossip section of the girls as a studmuffin while Morgan and Hemming are dubbled " My Little Ponies". Conflict - A casual observer of hunky men for purely scientif
So we wonder what spell John Hemming MP casts upon the media. The man quivers at any criticism of him. Infact, he has driven those who run 24 Dash to their limit so much so that I have been asked to refrain from talking about him in any way. One can of course feel the ruffled feathers from the Hemming camp from here to enternity. So the issue here is this, Hemming MP can accuse Southall of a coverup but none of us can ask him what evidence he has. Because if we do, it is known as a "personal attack" or perceived as such. So, the very fact that he actually likes the sound of his own voice and no one elses escapes most people. I believe it is the MP title that sends gibbers down the spine for all publishers. I though look at him and go "yeah right". These silencing tactics are quite good really given the Liberal Democrat leader is a human rights advocate and believes in free speech. It is a shame our man from Yardley believes in his free speech and no one elses. The worst issue is that a
Once upon a time there was an MP called Mr John Hemming who attempted to silence anyone who has questions him. First he threatened THES and then he threatened 24 DASH. Basically, he opts not to defend himself but continues to go behind the scenes to silence his critics. This is of course a sign of his ability to stand up to criticism. Of course, we know Mr Hemming stands up for a number of women instead. He ran up to 24 Dash a famous newswire and stamped his feet about the piece I had written about him. Morgan joined in during this stampy feet phase. Morgan can be found in a tent on this blog where he resides for almost 24 hours a day. So here we are, the piece has now revived itself and will be listing on google soon. Three Questions for Mr Hemming MP »Why Should We Believe You Mr Hemming?Tuesday, June 12th, 2007 I note Mr Hemming MP’s http://johnhemming.blogspot.com/ stance on Sleep Studies and his citation of Doncaster NHS Trust’s apparent cover-up. Mr Hemming of course believe
The Black Knight SketchOh they have been pushing their weight around getting insecure about whatever is written about them. They have both been extremely frantic about what I have been writing on 24 Dash Blog. So much so, they have been making their life totally miserable by whinging and whining. I have agreed to their removal as these issues make no difference to me whatsoever. I wondered how long it would take them to get all gittery about what was being said. Thats alright because I can republish the columns on here which list quite well really :). John Hemming MP threatened The Times Higher with libel but I have a wonderful copy of said article :). John's little ruffled features get worse don't they. Is it all about telling the world that he has serial affairs? Surely not ! Brian Morgan who is due to be reported to the police very soon for his antics should remind himself that he listed himself as having a conflict of interest and stated "Arrested, charged with conspiracy and c
Class of 2007- Medical Students At John Hemming MP's Paediatric Teach-In I am quite sure that serial Philanderer John Hemming MP and "kiss the asian barrister and end the affair with a QC" title Lord Goldsmith have a lot in common. They are afterall both adulterers. They are the sort of men currently gunning for Professor David Southall. Lord Goldsmith has agreed to review the cases where Southall was a witness with a little help from Hemming. The Express headline today was one where theft of information now is considered acceptable practise. Ms Payne stole the various files containing patient data and copied them. What I want to know is did anyone ask the parents of these children to have their data strewn all over the place - from one sweaty lawyer's hands to another. Yes, sadly no regulatory body exists for misbehaving MSBP campaigners who believe that the world revolves around them. They all fail to understand that actually in the grand scale of illnesses, they are the minority.
Picture courtesy of John Hemming blog Penny Mellor's knight in shining armour had gone slightly rusty by the time I got to question him. John ( as he is known to Mellor) has a excellent blog. He discusses various issues and also writes his questions in parliament down. Of course, that's all I see them do - ask questions. Nothing seems to make a difference in real life. All my patients are still underfunded. Life is difficult for them from day to day and all we have is a list of questions. My sick patients have problems getting benefits, problems living day to day and yes I am the one to sort all that out. I don't have any knight of an MP coming to rescue these patients - while John is out saving the MSBP crowd let him pay some attention to those who are mentally ill, severely underfunded and suffering due to this government. Ah, but they don't attract the column inches that Southall does. No siree. Sure, John is intelligent enough and probably more intelligent than me but how const
I just got a new Janome DC3050 and have been tackling all sorts of projects I couldn't finish with my old White from the 80's. However, when I tried to hem a drape (upholstry type fabric) the turned up part kept getting pulled with respect to the rest of the fabric, and I ended up with puckers every few inches or so. Do you think my foot was pressing down too hard on the top fabric? I can't adjust the foot pressure as I did with my old White, but I'm not even sure that's the problem. How do get a hem to feed evenly with really heavy fabric? I'm afraid I will end up having to use a walking foot for everything. Thank you for your help!Last post by solosmocker at Sun 15 Jul 2007 06:56:05 PM Total posts: 4

I am making a fairy costume for my daughter. I'm finished with the dress, but I'm having trouble with the hem. I hemmed the skirt 1.5 inches. I ironed the hem, but the bottom looks like it needs stitching all the way around (like maybe 1/4 inch) to make it look neater. I'm not sure what to do to make it look better.
I'd attach a picture, but I'm not sure how...

Okay, I know chiffon is an advanced fabric to work with, but I'm good at following instructions.
I'm making a layered circle skirt for my niece (so thank God it's small!) and was given a bunch of free silk chiffon that's fairly sheer. The chiffon garments I have are finished with an itty-bitty hem and a single, small running stitch....can you do this on a regular sewing machine? I also read in a book on applique technique that a "hand rolled" hem is when you tuck the fabric along the raw edge under itself as you sew by hand, using your thumbnail. That would drive me batty.
It doesn't have to look perfect, as this is somethink of a practice garment. It might just end up in the dress-up pile.
Plan B is to cut the hem with pinking shears, then slip it inside color coordinated, single fold
So I made a skirt in a class that I took last week. It's super-cute and I'm super-proud of it -- we drafted the pattern from our measurements, and it has a ruffle (which we did with basting stitches, no ruffler feet!), and I even put a lining in mine since the main fabric was kind of sheer.
I finished everything in the class except hemming the lining, which I decided to do today -- I'm plannin
So once again, I am perplexed by a notion shown in a Muki Kurai book (last time it was her little clips)....
This time it's this little mat with ruled lines (like a ruler) that you can put on top of your fabric, and then fold up your hem allowance on top of that, and iron into place. She calls it an "Iron Scale."
