The Republicans still can't find someone to run against Democrat Richard Cordray in November for Attorney General to replace the disgraced Marc Dann. Jim Petro is the latest to say thanks but no thanks. All the other republican heavy hitters seem to be taking a pass as well after assessing their prospects. It's unlikely Dann's misdeeds will impact the Democratic candidate as most everyone seems to

Everyone has a dream job, whether it's stuffing envelopes in the comfort of your own bathrobe, or walking dogs for the elderly in the hopes that advancing senility will result in an inheritance accidentally willed your way.For the drinking set, the definition of a dream job is simply one whose rigors can be forgotten as soon as they've skipped off two hours early for a 'dentist appointment' that involves convening at the billiard hall happy hour. For the seasoned boozer, whose grocery bills are regularly eclipsed by liquor store hauls, scouring want ads for new employment is daunting, especially as emergency savings are pissed away buying rounds for the lady who tap dances on the bar.A Winsor, England man, posted a gig that is by any tippler's definition, a dream job, and one that, like th

This year’s event will be even more spectacular. Many businesses in San Pedro are already stepping up and showing their support. Wet Willy's has agreed to host the event and many have started making donations for the auction which will be done by professional auctioneer Doug Willey. Blue Lotus, Portofino, Sol Spa, Master Zac, Christos, Capt Jack, Carole Goudreau Esthetic, Casa Picasso have already made donations towards Cinco De Mayo 2008.We are looking for volunteers locally abroad to help us raise money for the school. Thinking up gifts is difficult any time of year, but it’s especially challenging in December when you have to buy for family members you barely see.
Last year I published a Gift Guide For Boys with lots of suggestions of items that boys between four and twelve might like. Readers commented with additional fantastic ideas.
This year I’m going to do the New and Improved Gift Guide. I plan to publish it earlier than I did last year, to give non-procrastinators more time to take care of this aspect of the holidays, because what else do you have to do now that the Christmas cards are done?
Second, I’m going to expand the coverage to gift suggestions for all types of people - spouses, elderly aunts, teachers, and girls. I hope to cover a variety of budgets.
Take a minute and think– have you ever given the perfect gift and been very proud of yourself? Have you ever received something wonderful? If so, and you’d like to share, let me know in the comments belo

(Unsolicited advice) I found out long ago in the corporate world that if you only have half the requirements a company wants…a-p-p-l-y. If you’re a newbie and want to break into the business, apply. If your work is good enough, you’ll be looked at. Don’t tell yourself no and that you don’t have what it takes: let the company tell you, no…and then don’t stop, keep on trying. (Unsolicted advice ended.)

A year ago I discovered Grand Marnier Mustard at Market of Choice in Eugene, Oregon. Mostly an egg based spread, the mustard is fantastic in home made dressings or on thick slices of bread for a turkey cranberry sand which! But, alas! I searched high & low for this mustard on my recent visit and was unable to find it. City of roses sells the mustard on-line, but The Boy has given me a new idea. Make my own. In a way, I believe he's trying to trick me into making him stone ground mustard with Stout ale. (Sierra Nevada Brewing Company makes a fine example.
So, I'm asking for advice on where to begin. Have you made mustard before? Tips, suggestions? And, best of all, could anyone get me started on how to make the egg based Creamy Grand Marnier mustard?
Help Wanted Nights is the fourth album by the Omaha-based band The Good Life. It will be released on September 11, 2007 on Saddle Creek Records. Currently, frontman Tim Kasher has moved to Los Angeles and has written a screenplay entitled Help Wanted Nights. He has stated that the screenplay acts as a 'counterpart' to the album: I tried to have the songs be less storytelling, and less narrative...since I was writing this fictionalized counterpart to this thing, I kind of liked the idea of writing songs to [exist] more as ideas that complement something else that was written. I tried to focus less on narrative and more on those big ideas. In regards to the content of the album, Kasher reveals that the new album involves: "Roughly a week in a bar in a small town where a stranger's car breaks down...so, he fraternizes with the regulars, getting too wrapped up in their sordid lives. Something like that."

With all the hoopla over the FCAT these days, you can't help but wonder who would want to inherit the mess as Florida's next education commissioner. No one has applied just yet, and the folks that expressed interest early on have not been so vocal lately. The time is coming, though, for the few, the bold, the commissioner hopefuls to cast their names into the hopper.
The first ad already has been drawn up for the Wall Street Journal. It's short but sweet: "Commissioner of Education - Florida State Board of Education seeks a results-oriented leader to oversee its seamless preK-20 education system with 2,500 FTE employees and budget in excess of $23 billion." More ads are slated to follow, in places including the expected Education Week, the Chronicle of Higher Education and the New York Times, as well as the more niche oriented publications such as the Hispanic Link and the Black Collegian. The ad budget is just under $6,500. You can see the plan here.

This past week, Picthfork posted Dan Deacon’s song “The Crystal Cat” and I have been listening to it over and over and over again on my computer at work and even legally downloaded it from itunes so that I can work out to it.Dan will be going on tour this spring and summer, begging tonight in Greensboro, NC and ending in Chicago at the Picthfork festival (hmmm…could that be why they are on the playlist?). Since I am an avid groupie/stalker of all musical acts I am even marginally impressed by, I decided to check out when he would be coming to New York and discovered what might just be the best marketing ploy ever: Fans are invited to sing with Dan (or at least the first four to respond that is)!Apparently this idea came to Dan in a dream were he was joined by an angelic choir on stage to sing "Wham City" from his recently released Spiderman of the Rings - a musical tribute to his place of dwelling and to the Baltimore music community he is a part of. TSo here is the deal:1) See
The Dow recently hit an all-time high. The S&P may be next. The Wall Street pundits are saying the markets are going higher. Stocks will go up. Interest rates will go down, based on last week’s inflation report, meaning that bond prices will go higher. But wait, Alan Greenspan says there’s a 1/3 chance of a recession before the end of the year (that’s within the next seven months, folks). A recession certainly won’t be good for stocks.
What’s an investor to do? Invest for the long term. How? By finding good professional managers, i.e., mutual fund mangers, and sticking with them. These men and women come to work every day and think about nothing except how to invest your money. (Okay, they may also think about where they’re going for lunch and their kids soccer game, but all of us think about these things at work, don’t we?)

Shamayim (Heaven) - From fire and water (Fire - aiSh - Justice, Water - Mayim - Mercy)[1] G-d creates Shamayim (Heaven) and staffs it, see Classified Ad below, with Angles all singing his praise, but it is not good. Yes, it is hard to find good help but this is more then just a labor dispute.
“Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters and let it separate between water and water”.[2] “Here conflict was created thought the left side. For until here was the mystery of the right.”[3]
The world was created through the attribute of mercy, the right side. The formation of the universe, the ordering of chaos, is from the left side that of strict justice. Therefore a conflict existed between form and chaos, between justice and mercy. Not good, as the conflict between Korah (left) and Aaron (right) that Moses tried to mediate. The next day when the mediating force Tiferet, Beauty, is created it will be good, as the conflict between Shammai (left) an

Want to attract great employees for your small retail business? Here are some places to look:
1. Local colleges that have a degree program anywhere remotely related to your retail niche.2. Special interest groups or hobby clubs filled with members interested in at least one aspect of your market.3. Put the word out with people you trust like professional organizations, schools, churches or social clubs. 4. Consider allowing for flexible work schedules or two part-timers instead of one full-time. In this case, people who have left the workforce, such as stay-at-home mothers or recent retirees, who have profess
