      Office Heaters
I work in a building that is either too hot or too cold.  If you are not sweating your are freezing.  On those hot days I have a small fan that I plug in.  It doesn’t make it much cooler but it helps.  What I don’t have is a heater.  We used to have heaters but then someone decided it was unsafe to have heaters in an office.  So instead of being able to provide our own heat we had to rely on what the building could provide which was usually nothing.  I don’t get a lot of work done when my fingers are blue and I can see my breathe.  That person is gone and now we can use heaters again.  I have been looking for a new heater.  I like the vent free heaters.  They are fairly inexpensive and should provide the heat I need to be able to work efficiently.

It is quite easy to get a cosy traditional fireplace recreated so you can toast your toes in front of it. This is exactly what we did in our living room, and it was money well spent. Patio heaters
In Sweden restaurants with outdoor serving areas are becoming more frequent, maybe because of the warmer climate and maybe because we travel more and want to create the same ambiance at home as we have experienced abroad in the warmer countries. But Swedish weather is quite chilly at times and when the costumers are cold the restaurants turn on the patio heaters. These patio heaters, apart from heating gardens, also heat the planet. One heater produces about 35 kg of CO2 with one load of gas which lasts about 13 hours. Because of this Wyevale, Britain's largest garden chain, has decided to stop selling patio heaters. A responsible and sensible decision. When it is cold outside people should learn to dress warmer or eat indoors instead of heating themselves and the rest of the planet with idiotic patio heaters.
