I hope that Tim Hardaway didn't have to see this
I spotted this in one of those SI Photo Galleries. It's Italian U-21 coach Gianfraco Zola having a somewhat intimate moment with Antonio Nocerino (the dude wearing the socks). This picture would be a little less awkward if Zola didn't have that utter look of satisfaction on his face. He's really not being shy about the placement of the hand...

Tim Hardaway And Ichiro Would Not Get Along
Are the customs of Japan that different from America when it comes to the way men dress? Apparently so, if Ichiro is any gauge. From the PI: [Jay] Buhner is the master trash-talker, and Ichiro's wardrobe has provided a fine opportunity. Someone asked what Buhner would have done back in the day with Monday's ensemble, which included sparkly gold sneakers with a silver man purse. "We'd have dipped

George Takei Likes it the Hardaway
Recently retired NBA All-Star Tim Hardaway made some very disparaging remarks about gays during an interview with a Miami radio station and was banned from some NBA-sanctioned appearances he was scheduled to make in Las Vegas as part of the All-Star weekend. He also lost at least one of his endorsement deals, and he ordered his name dropped from advertising at a car wash he owns in Miami to ensure the safety of his employees. “You know, I hate gay people. Let it be known I don’t like gay people and I don’t like to be around gay people. I am homophobic. I don’t like it. It shouldn’t be in the world or in the United States.” George Takei of Star Trek fame and a gay activist had something to say about it, but I don’t think it will be quite what you expected. all star, gay activist, george takei, homophobic, nba, star trek, tim hardawayall star, gay activist, george takei, homophobic, nba, star trek, tim hardaway

How the left lies about CWA response to Tim Hardaway
Thanks to my friends at Magnasquids for bringing this to my attention. Julian Sanchez is a liar. He made the following statement about Concerned Women for America's response to the Tim Hardaway interview(notice the ommission marks): By now, you've probably heard about the flap over former Miami Heat baller Tim Hardaway's repugnant radio interview, in which he reacted to news that fellow NBA alum John Amachi is gay by proclaiming his hatred of gay people and declaring that homosexuality "shouldn't be in the world or in the United States." This morning, my inbox contained a press release from none other than uberconservative group Concerned Women for America blasting Hardaway: A former NBA star has made disturbing and harmful comments about his feelings toward people trapped in the homosexual lifestyle. Interviewing with a Florida sports radio show, former Miami Heat player Tim Hardaway said that he “hates gay people” and that he distances himself from them because he

Tim Hardaway: Gays Are Out Of This World!
Majorly English is there with your "retired NBA player you once thought you remembered now coming into the news for something wholly un-basketball related" scoop. Tim Hardaway hates gay people. On the succulent heels of retired NBA center John Amechi's coming out, Hardaway spouted off on sports radio, the land where nothing good or productive ever happens: "You know, I hate gay people, so I

      Tim Hardaway Is Gay
The following is quoted by: Former NBA All-Star Tim Hardaway on Wednesday where he publicly attacked former NBA player John Amaechi.Hardaway: "Well, you know I hate gay people, so I let it be known. I don't like gay people and I don't like to be around gay people. I am homophobic. I don't like it. It shouldn't be in the world or in the United States. So yeah, I don't like it.''Normally if some person is saying these sorts of things then they themselves have issues. I really don't think he his secure in his sexuality. Either that or the guy got dropped on his head when he was a baby... eh maybe not... but my point is this. Why say those sorts of things of another human. I mean really he should know been black and all. (Not been raciest of anything - but man haven't they over the years been through hell and back over equal rights etc). Or maybe the guy just wants press time and has a big mouth!I hope the ABA fine him thousands... but that still wouldn't be enough to the d

Pens=Kobe, Tiki on NBC, Dan Hawkins Audio, Hardaway is Anti-Gay, South Park Big 10 Coaches
The Penguins remind me of Kobe Bryant. You know, those stories about how Kobe let the opponent back in the game in high school, only to cut their throat when the game was on the line. Last night, the Pens gave us another exciting shootout win after letting a 3-1 lead evaporate against Chicago.I can't wait for the arrival of Tiki Barber as a full-time member of the media this season. Maybe he can interview Michael Strahan while Strahan eats a hot dog. Here's the audio of Colorado coach Dan Hawkins mentally melting down. A great excuse for ESPN to pull out video of Jim Mora, Herm Edwards, and Dennis Green for the 800th time.Tim Hardaway's anti-gay comments aren't going away anytime soonRemember when I mentioned Bill Simmons' sudden interest in college hoops? Well, this guy noticed, and gives his thoughts. Great read. Tim Hardaway Just Keeps On Diggin'
Think maybe Tim's apology was a little hollow? Now there's this phone interview with a TV station covering the story. The only thing Hardaway has going for him at this point is that you know this story will be beaten into the ground so quickly that it probably won't last long. That or Tim could just keep getting interviewed and saying stupid things and at that point people will just stop

      It's Tim Hardaway Thursday!
Frankly, I had hoped to be done posting on this topic for the day, but then I ran across the best take I've seen and had to share. Basketball blog Straight Bangin' broke down many (if not all) of the things Tim "Killer Cross-Dresser" Hardaway had to say and drove a stake through all of them with precision accuracy. Listed below are a couple of my favorites. To read the rest click here. No,

TIM HARDAWAY BASHES GAY PEOPLE Tim Hardaway, form...
TIM HARDAWAY BASHES GAY PEOPLETim Hardaway, former Heat player, tarnished his image by making crude and cruel comments about his feelings towards gay people. This blew my mind when I read about it because I have had a friendship with Tim when he was with the Pit Bulls in the ABA. A few years ago when I heard about Tim Hardaway starting an ABA team I quickly wrote him an email and was pleasantly surprised when I got a signed letter back from him. This letter invited me to a game and to be an honorary ballboy. Tim Hardaway gained my respect from more than what he did on the court, because he was nice enough to write to a kid and make me feel good. Now, however, I am sad and shocked that Tim would lash out at gay people. He made a terrible mistake and has apologized for it but it won't make up for what he said. He should have known better. I thought he was smarter than that. If you want to read what Tim said, go to www.ESPN.com.

      Hardaway's Big Mouth Costs Him
Obviously, Tim Hardaway forgot to study the play book before going off on a homophobic tirade on a radio show just before the National Basketball Association's annual All-Star splash. So the former star player has lost a PR gig as an official representative of the league in the leadup to the big game, which will be held in Las Vegas this weekend."It is inappropriate for him to be representing us given the disparity between his views and ours," NBA commissioner David Stern said after Hardaway's anti-gay rant created a storm.Hardaway has a right to his views, but he doesn't have a right to represent the corporate NBA, which likes to make money and put forth a face of tolerance when, as everyone knows, a lot of folks associated with the league probably agree with Hardaway. Why do you think John Amaechi waited until he had retired from professional basketball to disclose that he is gay? (His newly published memoir is "Man in the Middle.")Hardaway, apparently not comfortable enough in

TIM HARDAWAY STILL APOLOGIZING: Former NBA player now says, "I don't hate gay people.'
Since saying someone is Gay is now the new F-Word the saga continues for one homophobic, "I don't hate gay people," Hardaway now says, in a complete 180 from his previous remarks. "I'm a goodhearted person. I interact with people all the time. ... I respect people. For me to say 'hate' was a bad word, and I didn't mean to use it." But just last week he said: Hardaway actually expressed a hatred for homosexuals during the radio interview when asked to comment about the recent declaration of gay former NBA player John Amaechi. Hardaway said he didn't believe gay players should share a locker room with heterosexual players, then added, "I don't like gay people, and I don't like to be around gay people." On Sunday, he acknowledged "that was very bad." xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx HOUSE OF GLITZ: IT'S AMAZING HOW WE ALL SING "WE ARE THE WORLD" ONCE OUR MONEY STOP FLOWING, BECAUSE WE PUT OUR FOOT IN OUR MONTH. Hardaway Not Paying Bills
According to TMZ, Tim Hardaway is being sued by Washington Mutual Bank for $715,000; Hardaway allegedly is behind on his mortgage payments for his residence in Miami-Dade County, FL. At this point, Washington Mutual Bank is trying to foreclose the property. Plus, Hardaway is being sued for failing to make rental payments for his car wash in Miami; he owes $45,000 in back rent.
