Hard Times Force Parents To Send Eldest Son To Orphanage
I was reading up on the news and came to a story that is hitting me hard. In Indonesia, a parent sends his child to an Orphanage because they cannot support him. This is getting worse by the minute. One might say "well have less kids" Yea, that can be a possibility, but at the same time it's not as easy as you make it seem. I believe we will start seeing more and more people going out of their

Moneylenders funding Realty Boom in Hard times
They could be dismissed as a nondescript group of people chatting on the lawns of an exclusive club or strolling down Marine Drive in Mumbai. Their clothes are quiet, their gait without swagger. Indeed, it’s hard to believe that these are the very men who have a vice-like grip over some of the biggest builders [...]

Even Celebrities Can Fall On Hard Times And Face Home Foreclosure
When you think of Ed McMahon, you don’t exactly associate or lump him with big time wasteful spenders like MC Hammer and some of the other well known celebrities of the past who rose to fame and fortune quickly but ultimately frittered away their money into bankruptcy on trivial pursuits. No, when you think of [...]

Hard Times for Germany’s Far Right Party
Germany's leading extreme right-wing party is on the ropes because of financial mismanagement, criminal probes and fierce competition from the left for the populist protest vote. The debate among authorities here is whether to deal it a fatal blow by trying to ban it or to allow it to quietly self-destruct. There is no question that the National Democratic Party has fallen on hard times. In Februa

      Depression during hard times
Depression has got to be the number one enemy of hardworking individuals when money gets tight. Families will bicker over the smallest of details and unimportant issues. Some people will try to escape the growing number of phone calls from bill collectors by drinking or using drugs which in both cases only makes matters worse. If you have the wolf at your door so to speak, the first thing to

Hard times for Yoon Eun-hye? Growing pains of becoming a big star
Yoon Eun-hye has fallen in a happy dilemma, for she is becoming popular after the success of "Coffee Prince".She is not doing a drama or movie right now but is so busy with commercials that she hasn't found time to recharge as an actress. It seems she's resting after her drama but truthfully, she is spending at least twenty days in a month for promotions. For this month, she has filming for Basic House and JoinUs, and a commercial for v=b in April. She is a model for many clothing brands, and although she received proposals for alcohol, tire, candy, and fast food commercials, she refused because it did not fit with either her image or her busy schedule."Coffee Prince" has gained much popularity in Japan and China, and there are requests for her to visit or have promotions there. But she is

      Flashback: Hard Times
Yesterday, my friend saw the post about my husband’s hanger trick, and suddenly it hit me that I never told her about it. When she mentioned the hanger, I had a flashback to the time period when she and I met. At that time, life was much too serious to ever talk or think about [...]

Hard Times: PC Game Piracy In US Estimated At 75-80%
Woe be the PC game developer these days, as various reports put piracy rates in the U.S. at approximately 70-85%.Pirates?! I'm supposed to be fighting a hydra! It's no wonder that Epic Games is dumping PC games for the greener pastures of console gaming: piracy rates for the U.S. market alone are hovering around 80%!And beyond the U.S., the piracy picture becomes even larger and more menacing -- especially if you're an independent developer without "Madden-sized advertising budget," said THQ Director of Creative Management Michael Fitch, who laid out his case against piracy and hardware manufactures in an epic rant at the Quarter to Three forums. In the post, Fitch attacked pirates, the PC software security model and everything in between. In Europe, he said, piracy rates approach 90%. In As

      Hard Times Continue…
It’s pretty evident - hard times seem to linger for the longest time. And the auto industry’s damnation is likely to stay. So which route is better for the desired recovery? At the opening of the 20th North American International Auto Show, the future of Detroit’s Big 3 gives the industry hints of what are to be expected. While automakers are putting their best foot forward to seize profitability, economy and surrounding circumstances seem so forbidding. With the American economy ailing due to bad-debt hangover, the Federal Reserve bank diminished interest rates thrice since last August. This is an effort to boost the economy. True, no one makes a car purchase in times of crisis, unless of course pretty inevitable.According to Telegraph.co.uk, the US new car and truck market has been

      Hard Times is back!
That's right. The Hard Times Cafe, one of my favorite places evar, is back in business after a four-month long hiatus. Thank the non-existent Lord! I know, to the average person this might seem like some old, run down, punked-out cafe. But it's more than that. It's a gathering place, a study lounge, not to mention an excellent place for people watching. It's what makes the Cedar-Riverside neighborhood worth visiting. It was closed for so long because while they were remodeling, the health inspectors insisted that they get new kitchen equipment that not only cost a lot of money but took months to be shipped in. Needless to say, we've been anticipating this place reopening for months now. And, at long last, it has opened, despite the city's best efforts to shut it down. Yes, half the people who visit there smoke pot. A lot of them are punks and indie kids who are "up to no good". It's filled with hippies and liberals galore. But dammit, it's Hard Times. The city isn't going to t

      Hard Times, Greiving, Loss
By: Scott Wardell Hard Times, Grief & LossIf you are in the midst of hard times, dealing with grief or facing a loss, let me start off by expressing my deepest sympathy. This is not an easy time and this article may help. This chapter will help you explore what you and others in your life may be going through. We the people, who live in the United States, are often poorly prepared to deal with a loss. We seldom, if ever, discuss the inevitable death that will take place for all living creatures. We don’t begin to think about loosing a job, a friend, a pet or other tangible items until they are no longer with us. Loss is a personal and can be a complicated event. Feelings range from heartfelt hurt to extreme anger. No feeling is unusual or uncommon. Pain, grief and suffering are the most common feelings when one experiences a loss. Loss often affects our entire body and mind. It may make one feel exhausted, helpless and overwhelmed. It is my hope that the following paragraphs will int

Hard times in Freedonia - As expected during tonig...
Hard times in Freedonia - As expected during tonight's CNN/YouTube Democratic presidential debate, Hillary made her every utterance in the third draft, Barack bespoke his profound unreadiness for prime time (by the way, it is becoming more apparent that he is positioning himself to end up on Hillary's short list for Veep), Mike Gravel and Dennis Kucinich demonstrated themselves to be entirely unhinged, and the other candidates continued to fade into irrelevance. There were no real surprises as far as the performance of each candidate is concerned. When the polling is conducted over the next few hours and days, Sen. Clinton will only have solidified her lead amongst the Democratic field of dreamers. For my money, the surprise (shock really) comes from what I learned about the folks who share this land with me. Judging by the questions that were presented to the candidates, my fellow Americans seem to me to be overindulged, under-occupied and myopically concerned with how government can

The Scabs - Hard Times (1990)
Belgian's band with the highest degree of "rock & roll".Started as a bunch of angry young men in 1982 and made a smashing knock on the door debut with a few singles ("So called friends / Frozen faces" and "There's nothing wrong / Beat me up"), a track on the album "No big business" ("Is this life?") and the mini-album "Here's to you Gang". The group was at the time most often compared with The Clash. The reward : a place at Torhout-Werchter, the biggest summer festival of Belgium. After a less well-received second album (produced by the producer of the Bollock Brothers Ian O'Higgins) "For all the wolf calls", the group starts searching for a new direction. This is found on the album "Skintight" and in the person of Willy Willy - the Sir Keith of Richards of Belgian Rock music. Ironically the Scabs find their way to a much broader audience with the muted singles "Stay", "Halfway home" and the beautiful "Crystal Eyes". The albums however contain loud rocking music. "Ballads are the

      Hard Times
The local news reported that gas prices are going to continue to climb and may hit four dollars by summer. There are shootings at schools. Bomb threats are closing other schools. Everywhere you look things seem to be falling apart. Hard times are knocking on our doors. As Christians we sometimes think we are exempt from hard times, but when we read the scriptures we see that most of those who were followers of Christ suffered. What are we to do when hard times come a knocking? The church in Thessalonica was one born in hard times: But the Jews which believed not, moved with envy, took unto them certain lewd fellows of the baser sort, and gathered a company, and set all the city on an uproar, and assaulted the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people (Acts 17:5). And when Paul wrote his second letter to the Thessalonians things hadn’t changed: So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulatio

Hard times ahead for Crewe Alexandra?
There are many things that annoy football supporters. Bad results, for sure, but a lack of effort by players, a failure to listen to fans and increased prices are all high on the list. Long-time Alex supporter Andy Scoffin thinks that things might get much, much worse before they get better at Gresty Road..."Falling attendances are a very worrying factor at CAFC in recent months. Reduced admission for certain games has hardly made any difference, and the Gresty Road End vs Bristol City can be seen to be very sparse at 3pm [Andy's snap was taken at kick-off on Saturday]. Rumours of price increases for season 07/08 are hardly helping as whispers between long time Season Ticket holders are all about not renewing. Hard times ahead for CAFC? It looks very likely," said Andy. And when you hear that from a fan of over 40 years you know things are bad. I suspect that secrecy by the board hasn't helped matters, with a refusal to comment on certain AGM items because of "sensitive commercial re
