Apologies for the absence of a post yesterday but the Broadband has gone tits up again although this time its BT’s fault. It’s Good To Talk obviously not being their motto anymore because trying to get hold of someone who can tell you how long it will be before everything is back and hunk-dory is akin to finding the Pot of Gold at the end of a rainbow.
Arsene’s monthly visit to Soho Square has left him with that feeling of walking on air, probably because of the lightness of his wallet. The £2.5k fine is a hell of a lot smaller than I thought he would get, toothless even by their standards. It’s pretty amazing viewing, and even more amazing that he’s sat in the studio talking us through the crash a few months after it happened. For those who are new to this story and aren’t aware what all the fuss is about here’s a short synopsis.
37 year old Richard Hammond (nicknamed the hamster for his short stature) presents Top Gear with Jeremy Clarkson and James May. The show is about everything cars and motoring and has garnered quite a loyal cult following in recent years. Apart from testing cars, and putting celebrities to the test around a track, the team also delve into the weird and wonderful, those stories on the sidelines of motoring.
Jon Hammond has done an interview with keyboardist Alan Pasqua. Alan is currently touring with Allan Holdsworth, Chad Wackerman, and Jimmy Halsip. He discusses the recent live DVD shoot they did, even saying the DVD with Holdsworth and the gang could be out by Christmas (!). He also talks about his time in Tony Williams' New Lifetime band. Just seen a report on Richard Hammond, the TV Presenter most famous at present for his work on Top Gear is critically ill in hospital.
Apparently he was injured whilst driving a jet powered car in a piece for Top Gear.
Although he was unconscious on arrival at the neurological unit, he was said to have regained consciousness, but his condition was listed as critical.
I do hope he pulls through, since he is one of my favourite TV presenters, but even more so since he has a young family and it must be difficult times for them.
He has always appeared to be one of the unpretentious 'top blokes' on TV. My thoughts are with him and his family and friends.

Hospital has annoucned that Richards condition has stabilised, which hopefully is good news. He is still badly injured but it doesn't appear to be life threatening now.
Now all we have to do is hope that those pearly white teeth he spent so much money on survived intact or Clarkson won't let him live it
