Everyone hears about the different prophecies on how humanity will end. From the Bible predictions of the rapture and the Antichrist, to Nostradamus’s prediction of the Planet Comet, people hear theories and see evidence of our civilization coming to an end. However, the most striking of these prophecies lies in the predictions of an ancient, but highly sophisticated Mayan calender. The deciphering and understanding of the calender is whole other story in it’s own, so I’ll get straight to the point…
The Mayan calender actually is a combination of 3 calenders. The religious calender, the solar calender, and the Long Count. For the sake of this discussion, i wont get into detail about the whole calender and just stick to the Long Count. The Long Count can record any day in history because it is supposedly the measure of days from the beginning of humanity to the end.

I was contacted last week by a Chef’s For Humanity, an organization founded by Cat Cora (you might know her from Iron Chef America). The goal of the group is to gather culinary professionals and educations to fight hunger around the world. I think it’s a great group of people to push fighting world hunger, and I like that it’s outside of the political world, just a group of people trying to do what they think it right.
I’m hoping to become a ‘Blogger For Humanity’; I think the blogosphere is a great place to raise awareness of what’s going on in the world. No, I don’t think just blogging about hunger is going to fix the problem. There are political issues with this topic that even the best meaning chefs won’t solve. However, there are also a lot of issues that can be lessened, and having a group that’s not part of a government is a great step toward that, I think.

As human being, sometimes we like to be alone in a quiet place far from everything to find peace of mind…away from the noise of pollution i.e. TV, computer, cars, people, etc. It may be a deliberate choice or a contagious disease. Let me explain, for myself I find my solitude when I am in my world (my room!) blogging. In my closed world I can hide from others who all day don’t give up on searching for me. It’s not because I do not wish to see them, it’s just that I want to remove all distractions around me so that it’s easier to concentrate, reflect or meditate. I think I am becoming a monk but temporary I’m not looking for spiritual enlightenment, but just giving myself ‘me time’ as a reward for my mind. What is the best place for you to be far from humanity? Maybe in space? You wish!
