After discussing the elusive scent of figs yesterday, I was surprised to open my issue of Cosmetic World and discover a mention of an interesting new launch from Guerlain. Figue-Iris was created by Jean-Paul Guerlain in collaboration with Sylvaine Delacourte, Guerlain's creative director. As Ms. Delacourte described in the article, "Today, fig is very well known and popular... I wanted to contrast it with something very chic." Figue-Iris combines the green freshness of fig with warm, powdery iris.Laurier-Réglisse was created by Firmenich's Marie Salamagne and it combines "the sweetness of licorice wood and the freshness of laurel with bergamot, orange blossom, violet, galbanum and amber." remember the fuss Meteorites caused, three counters over when I worked on the
shop floor. Guerlain could NEVER keep them in stock - it was ridiculous. Every
time they'd get them in, the consultants would spend the day calling all the
people who'd been to ask about them in the last however many months, and without
fail they'd all show up in parade fashion over the course of the following
Saturday to pick up their prized meteorites like they were the rarest of
diamonds.
It's really been THAT long since I
heard about this product, and given all the fuss I have no idea why I haven't
tried it 'til now.

I like loose powder eyeshadows, and they are having the Guerlain Iridescent loose powder eyeshadows on sale for US$19 each. These were limited edition from Christmas a year or two back and I missed out on them then. Now, I’m sorely tempted to get them because I’d heard they are really nice.

I never used to look at Guerlain’s blushes for the simple reason that the brand does not excite me. I associate it with older women and the fact that the Guerlain counter at the malls are always quiet and manned by older ladies doesn’t help that image.
However, on a whim, I purchased 2 Guerlain Radiant blushes from StrawberryNET.com a couple of months ago when they were running a promotion. The two I got were Apricot Souffle D’or and Rose Pluie D’or. D’or in French indicates that there’s gold shimmer and I like shimmer in blushes.
Packaging
The blushes come in a large square case with a beaten gold cover. The bottom that houses the blushes is a clear plastic and the back has a large circle with a colour matching the blush inside and the name printed on it. Tine asked me in a comment below what I thought about Meteorites. Well the short answer is that I love them. But do you need it? Well, it depends.
I have the Guerlain Meteorites in Mythic or also known as the Original version. It has red, gold, purple, white and blue coloured balls in a tub. Its shimmery but not shiny. So, it adds a glow, but not shimmer. If what you are looking for is a highlighter or shimmer, then this is not for you. However, if you have been having dull skin or late nights and just want that extra pick-me-up added to your skin, then this might be the ticket. Its nothing that can be seen off the bat, but for me, it works.
What I do is swirl a fluffy powder brush over the balls and then brush over my face after foundation/loose powder. It doesn’t add any discernible colour or shimmer on the skin. However, when the light hits your skin, i find that it adds a glow that tells people you had a full 8 hours of sleep, even if you’ve been up half the night!

It looks like they have packaged Guerlain’s signature meteorites face powder into Pucci’s signature geometrical design together with a cute little Pucci pouch and pink brush.
4 lipglosses in turquoise, pink, bronze and clear are also part of the Pucci inspired look.
I already have the Meteorites though not in such pretty packaging. But what I’m really wanting is that makeup pouch. I can so see it in my hand as an evening clutch. I’ve been wanting one for ages and this looks right up my alley!
