I’ve said many times before that I wish I had known about probiotics a year ago. Are they the miracle cure for colic? Probably not. But certainly the research that came out in early 2007 looks more promising than any I’ve seen yet (I’d link to the original research in the American Academy of Pedatrics [...]
With only 16 games remaining, the Flyers gained a very important point yesterday in a shootout loss to the hated New York Rangers. They are currently two points behind the Rangers and hold the 8th and final playoff spot.
As the season winds down and after watching a shaky first period yesterday, I ask you this; [...]
Another award ceremony, another chance to give more promotion to a load of music that already has a couple of hundred thousand/millions backing it. Awards never seem to ever take notice of the home grown 'street' or, dare I say that dreadful word, 'Urban'. I'm sure 8T2 could win a Brit if he had a spare £10,000. I never understood how they can have a ceremony in february to represent the rest of the year that hasn't even happened so that's why I've done it of a 07/08 tingaling. I don't get how Take 'sloppy' That get a Brit Award but Amy Winehouse who has a larger daily heroin intake than what half of the UK's mainstream music scene have in talent (Slight exageration) but gets air. Let alone Dizzee, Kano, Wiley, Skepta or Tinchy even getting a look in, "They got Lemar singing like he's Fra
See what I've been up to over at Meadowlark Farms - Where there may not be a farm yet, but there's a farm girl learning the ropes of homesteading and sustainable living all in preparation for the blissful day when she can use them on her own land. Come learn with me, and by all means, teach me what you know!
I beg your pardon, mama, what did you say? My mind was drifting off on Martinique Bay. It's not that I'm not interested, you see; Augusta, Georgia is just no place to be. I think Jamaican in the moonlight. Sandy beaches, drinking rum every night. We got no money, mama, but we can go; We'll split the difference, go to Coconut Grove. Keep on talking, mama, I can hear Your voice, it tickles down inside of my ear. I feel a tropical vacation this year, Might be the answer to this hillbilly fear. I think Jamaican in the moonlight. Sandy beaches, drinking rum every night. We got no money, mama, but we can go; We'll split the difference, go to Coconut Grove. Voila! An American Dream. Well, we can travel girl, without any means. When it's as easy as closing your eyes And dream Jamaica is a big neon sign. Just keep talking, mama, I like that sound. It goes so easy with that rain falling down. I think a tropical vacation this year, Might be the answer to this hillbilly fear. Voila! An Americ
The top game in La Liga was undoubtedly the Barcelona derby. Andres Iniesta struck first for Barca, but Coro equalized midway through the second half. Earlier, Real Madrid saw off seventh-placed Racing Santander at the Bernabeu. Top-of-the-table Real got a brace from Raul and didn't seem to have much trouble, winning the game 3-1. There was a third liga game today: Arsenal vanquishers Sevilla lost at UD Almeira. The Andalusian side are now 11th, having lost their last three liga games since knocking off Real Madrid Nov. 3.Arsenal played a gritty game at Villa Park in today's top Premiership match-up, rebounding nicely from that (meaningless) Champions League loss at midweek. After going a goal down, Arsene Wenger's men outplayed their hosts in a stellar first half and then simply bunkered down in the second. Which is what you do when you get the lead on the road, especially at a place like Villa Park, where the home fans were in full-throated support. It was amazing how loud they we
Definitely going to pop down to this in the next couple of hours (If I ever bother to get ready - you know what woman are like - takes them 3hours to put a sock on). Of course I'm only going to see T2, not Trim, Jammer, Chippy or Logey. Nevertheless I shall give 'Bassline' a chance. If it doesn't begin to amaze the clothes off of me I shall move to Room2 and wave at Prancehall while he pretends to resist blowing kisses back (no homo since this maybe needed since I haven't shaved my beard or top lip for a week).
A resurgent Romanian national team scored arguably its biggest victory in a decade by beating Holland on a 71st minute tap-in by Steaua Bucharest defender Dorin Goian. With the victory, Romania is all but assured a spot in Austria and Switzerland. Victor Piturca's side are three points clear of Holland and five points clear of third-placed Bulgaria with only three games remaining, but more importantly the Carpathians have an easy schedule the rest of the way: at Luxembourg Wednesday, at Bulgaria Nov. 17, before concluding with Albania at home Nov. 21.Another big winner from Saturday night's action was Greece. The defending champions edged Bosnia 3-2 and are now four points clear of archrival Turkey ahead of their Wednesday night meeting at Istanbul. The Turks now have their backs to the wall, after only managing a draw against Moldova. Croatia, England, Poland and Scotland all held serve in crucial home games to strengthen their positions. Oh yeah, and Germany became the first team t

I know you have been waiting, checking back every few minutes for the next installment of Conversations with Bob! To satisfy your desire, my response:Thanks Bob for your last response!I won't belabor the point about the Word of God and get on to its authority and interpretation, although I think we may need to keep coming back to it. Before I do that, I want to clarify my comment on ecocide. You wrote:While we humans may think we are so important, the earth did fine without us and could do so again. wonder if our concern about ecocide is not really a concern about preserving an environment in which humans in our current state of evolution can live.Yes, I agree. In fact, we could get wiped out by a meteor or any number of other things beyond our control. However, this is a unique point in history, in which humankind could actually end life on Earth, human and otherwise. If that happens, Earth will continue to spin on its axis. No humans or other species aboard. We cannot co
Over the past weekened, I've had one of my contacts in Japan scouring the Tekken 6 location tests noting as much as he could in regards to all of the changes, nuances, and noteable additions in Namco Bandai's latest arcade fighting game. It's been a rough weekend* of fighting huge crowds and jockeying for a place in line, but even so, he finally sent to me his list of his impressions so far.As a side note, one of the primary things that he stressed about this weekend's location tests were that at least in his location, Tekken 6 drew more crowds than nearly all of the other previous location tests that he had participated in. A sign of the strength of the arcade industry in Japan or a sign of the power of the Tekken brand?Either way, it seems there is enough depth behind the game to satisfy any Tekken fan. Here's what he had to say:Stop complaining about the game's visuals! What a way to start, huh? It seems that the YouTube! location test videos and even some of the test scree
ENGLAND beat West Indies by 60 runs to win the third Test at Old Trafford overnight and claim an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the four-match series.
West Indies, set what would have been a record fourth-innings total of 455 to win, was bowled out for 394 shortly after lunch on the final day.
Left-arm spinner Monty Panesar took 6-137 for a match haul of 10-187.
Shivnarine Chanderpaul was 116 not out as England, after being whitewashed in the Ashes in Australia, won its first Test series since defeating Pakistan 3-0 at home last year.
Victory for England saw captain Michael Vaughan become his country's most successful Test skipper with 21 victories.
At lunch, West Indies was 7-379 - 76 runs shy of victory.
But in the second over after the break, England fast bowler Stephen Harmison took two wickets in four balls to reduce the tourist to 9-385.
Panesar ended the match when he had last man Corey Collymore caught at short leg off bat and pad.

Source: Carl Nolte, SFGateSan Francisco - For years, the two alleys that border the Old U.S. Mint in downtown San Francisco were cautionary tales in urban planning as they gradually declined into seediness after the Mint museum closed its doors in 1994. The little stub of Mint Street, and the block of Jessie Street that runs from Mint into Fifth Street near Mission Street, had nothing but potential. The reality, however, was grim. There were drugs, there were derelicts, there was public urination. The two little alleys were a big mess. But now, the two streets are being reborn into something called Mint Plaza. Cars have been banned from a block of Jessie, and it will be transformed into a small plaza, like something in Europe, with restaurants, green trees, outdoor dining and a new atmosphere. Mint Street, which runs off Fifth into Jessie, will get a new look, too -- with new pavement, new parking arrangements, and a cafe or two. "This is the greatest thing that ever
JUSTINE Henin showed her battling qualities at the German Open today (AEST), when her semi-final with Russia’s Svetlana Kuznetsova was suspended in the deciding set due to bad light.
Earlier, world No.1 Henin came back from the brink of defeat to defeat No.5 seed, Serbia’s Jelena Jankovic 3-6 6-4 6-4 at the rain-hit tournament.
The Belgian then returned to the Steffi Graf Stadium a few hours later to play No.3 Kuznetsova, and was serving at 3-2 down in the
