Spotlight on Dads is a weekly series from Discovering Dad that features involved fathers from around the world. The objective of the series is to inspire fathers to connect and learn from one another, while also deconstructing the stereotype of fathers as ’second’ parents.

I just discovered the fashion designer Rogan Gregory. I had not heard much of him besides that he had his own lunch box designed for him. I sense that the clothing he designs is very hipster, and cool from the few photos that I have seen. I found out a litle more about him by reading an article at Wallpaper.Customer Service
Managed to find these photographs of Gregory Yong on the internet. I have no photographs of him. I can only remember him in my brain.

I am very very sad, very very sad. On the way to church, I saw the birds flying in pairs, that was a beauty and a comfort. We cycled to Causeway Point for our late lunch. After that, we walked around before cycling to church.
On the way, I saw amazing sight. [...]
I read this book, Buy, Buy Baby: How Consumer Culture Manipulates Parents and Harms Young Minds, by Susan Gregory Thomas, and I would highly highly recommend it, regardless of if your a parent or not.
Not only does the book give you a behind the scenes look at the multi-billion dollar business of marketing to children, [...]
Gregory Crewdson is best known for his conceptual photography of small New England towns, using elaborate set ups and lighting as if he were filming a movie. His photographs are haunting and surreal. Each character seems frozen in time as if some significant event has taken place.

Introducing, the extraordinary talent that is, Rosabella Gregory. Her delightfully involving songs feature page-turning narratives and piano detail as elegant as classic architecture. They speak as much of classical music and American folk as they do of classic songwriters, fuelled by a personal soundtrack that has embraced both Beethoven and Billy Joel, both Tori Amos and Metallica. That entire cu
Dick Gregory returned to the Imus in the Morning program, and he was great, just like he was the last time. Here's a portion of his appearance on the show. (We're working to get audio of the full hour-and-a-half appearance).

American designer Rogan Gregory is next in line for Target's GO International. Gregory is a former Gap designer and 2008 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award winner with three of his own socially-conscious labels: his eponymous Rogan collection, ethical T-shirt label EDUN, and Loomstate, featuring all-organic tees and jeans.
What's unique about Rogan for Target is that all the cotton used is 100% certified organic. So while the styles themselves aren't exactly jaw-dropping, it's affordable, eco-friendly stuff we could easily wear every day. I'm dying to get my hands on an organic bamboo and hemp hoodie, and can't wait to see if the jeans will have that trademark fit which Gregory's pricey line is so well-known for. Plus, we're just happy that fast fashion is going green(ish).

Yesterday, I mentioned that Don Imus had a fantastic series of segments with comedian Dick Gregory. It was one of the best series of segments in years on the Imus in the Morning Program. I was able to get the audio from the show and edit it so as only to include the portion with Gregory. Though it's 48 minutes in length (without commercials), this is one of those segments that truly reveals the real Don Imus, in a great, realistic segment with Gregory. It was Gregory's blunt nature, too, that really gave meat to their discussion. I hope that when you have time, you'll set aside some of your own to listen to the segment.Any comments? Be sure to post them right here. You don't have to be registered to comment here.

+ uma pedrada para a galera reggaeira! O Reggaeiro Roberto Carlos da Jamaica!!! Hehehe... Reggae tranquilo com melodia para curtir um fim de tarde laranja com a gata...Gregory Anthony Isaacs (born 15 July 1950) is a Jamaican reggae musician. Isaacs was born in Fletchers Land, Kingston, Jamaica. In the 1970s, he emerged as one of the most prolific and popular recording artists in Jamaica. He released a number of self-produced singles on his African Museum (JA) record label, formed in 1973 with Errol Dunkley. Much of Isaacs' output reflected the 'conscious' themes of roots reggae, but Isaacs was equally adept at interpreting more mainstream lovers rock material. His hits include "My Only Lover", "Sinner Man" and "Mr. Cop", recorded at Lee Perry's Black Ark Studio. A period in the 1970s with

The best part of the movie website for the upcoming movie The Other Boleyn Girl is that they have a section of video clips from the author of the book the Other Boleyn Girl - Phillippa Gregory. If you've read the book, this is a great chance to see a chat with the author! Gregory, who was born in Kenya and has a PhD in 18th century literature from Edinburgh University talks about Anne Boleyn, Natalie Portman (who plays Anne Boleyn), Scarlett Johansson's passion for the book (Johansson plays the "other" Boleyn sister Mary Boleyn), the film adaptation, historical fiction, and how she became a writer. The movie is based on the historical fiction novel by Gergory, and is about sisters Anne Boleyn's and Mary Boleyn's affection for the King Henry of England (played by Eric Bana). Before you l

Serie de TV - HousePhoto: fotos5.SMIRK.es.In last week's season premier of House, The Right Stuff - 10/2/07, a patient needs to have a noninvasive test for liver cancer and it is decided that she should be given shots of tequila to test her response to alcohol. When House asks a Mormon to be in the control group, the Mormon at first refuses since it is against his religion. House then asks him if he would pull an ass out of a pit on the Sabbath [A Reference to Luke 14:5, Jesus challenges the Pharisees when they question whether he should heal a man on the Sabbath]. The Mormon then consented to drink alcohol in order to save the life of the patient.
Some people have misunderstood the Mormon's response thinking he was merely agreeing to drink the alcohol in order to keep himself in the running for the job, but actually the phrase House used is not a question but a rebuke because Jesus used it to insist that healing can and must be done even if it breaks the laws of man or God.

The topic below was originally posted in my blog the Intrepid Liberal Journal as well as the Independent Bloggers Alliance, The Peace Tree and Worldwide Sawdust. Our current world of globalization, technological advancement and the widening schism between rich and poor stems from the Industrial Revolution. Indeed, the Industrial Revolution is arguably the most important historical watershed in human history. So why did it happen in eighteenth-century England? Furthermore, how come the unprecedented economic growth it produced only served to make parts of the world even poorer?Conventional wisdom is that the Industrial Revolution resulted from the development of stable, political, legal and economic institutions in seventeenth-century Europe. Many assume factors such as geography, natural resources or exploitation were behind the Industrial Revolution. A decade ago, Jared Diamond postulated in his best selling and Pulitzer prize winning book, Guns, Germs, and Steel: The Fates of Human S

Rachel: …And so then I realized: All this stuff I had been doing–proposing to Joshua, lying to Ross about why I couldn
02/20/07, 8PM ET. Trading Places with Tony Snow, White House Press Secretary Tony Snow changes places with the White House Press Corps. During this National Press Club Newsmaker program, the former Fox news commentator poses questions to six journalists, including David Gregory, NBC News, Terry Hunt, AP, and others. Bob Schieffer, CBS News, introduces him.White House correspondent for NBC News David Gregory:david: i think that uh i think there's utility and i also think there is a down side and i alluded to this a moment ago. I think that politics and political coverage has become so polarized in this country, and in part because everybody, McCurry worried about cable news with the cameras that was that seems like a hundred years ago…because it's the internet and the blogs that have really used this White House press conferences to somehow support positions out in America, political views and they , and they ah they will clip and digitize portions of these briefings to fit into th
NBC News' chief White House correspondent denounced Operation Swarmer in Iraq as a political show made up as a military action. 40 so-called Qaeda members were caught but released a few hours later, and witnesses doubt seriously about the violence of the offensive. I must confess I was a little bit surprised by the target (an area without any previous history of intense rebellion), the images of the Iraqi soldiers preparing for the battle (all smiles), the publicity made around the Operation and its timing. To me, this looks like vintage War Propaganda, Fallujah style*. Look how swiftly did the Red Army react, carpet bombing poor David "Stretch" Gregory with all their Weapons of Mass Disinformation and lobbying for his firing. For them, the mother of all battles since march 2003 isn't "Operation Swarmer" but "Saving Private Bush".
Just like Michael Moore,
David Gregory can be a clown and his caricatural attacks can be used by the defense to turn around the proof of credibility gap
Inmate and Colombo mobster, Geggory Scarpa, informs the FBI that Ramzi Yoused is slipping him notes. Yousef gives him a note almost every day, but only allows him to keep the notes for 10 minutes at a time. The notes are commonly known as 'kites,' and are passed from inmate to inmates in news papers and though holes in the walls.According to Scarpa, Yousef told him If you're interested, I'll teach you things nobody knows... I'll teach you how to blow up airplanes, and how to make bombs and then you can get the informations to your people (meaning people on the outside)... I can show you how to get a bomb on an airplane through a metal detector. According to Scarpa, Yousef believed that he is in touch with people on the outside and wanted to enlist there help, and impli

An engaging novel, even if dragging at certain parts. A creative "reconstruction" of a historical event. Whether true or not is not the point. It was an enjoyable read! Although now shown as a movie, I am sure the book is much, much better....
If you want an illustration of how power corrupts, read this book....
