目前身在中国,发现有许多的网页都无法连接,尤其是部落格,例如blogspot, pixnet, wretch, xanga, 其他还有wikipedia, bbc 等等。因为都被它的Great Firewall of China (GFW) 火墙给挡住了,想不到古时候中国用长城来抵挡外敌,如今连在网络世界里也同样建造了“长城”。

Well, I shortened it then to 71 characters: www.thelongestdomainnameintheworldandthensomeandthensomemoreandmore.com
but I got: Can’t start the test. Can’t open URL.

I read about the Great Firewall of China from Nitesh Gautam's Blog. The Chinese govt has been censoring lot of websites based on their content. The greatfirewallofchina.org says;The Chinese government has a tradition of keeping its watchful eye on all media. Since the rapid growth of the World Wide Web in the 1990s they have constantly invented new ways of censorship to control the world’s most democratic medium, the Internet, as well. Not everything on the Internet, readily available elsewhere, can be accessed from within China.Some of the popular sites like Wikipedia are blocked in China.
