      grasshopper
I finally caught a grasshopper, set him snugly in my jar to keep. But ever since the night I caught him, all he ever seems to do is sleep.

The word "submission" in Arabic is seleme. It is both the root for the word "submission" as in Islam...which means "submission to God"...and the root for the word that means "peace"...salam. - this sermon from three years agoSo it appears that I am having a morning. 'Grasshopper' robot sets high-jump record
Taking its inspiration from the grasshopper, a tiny two-legged robot that stores elastic energy in springs has leaped 27 times its own height, smashing the record of 17 times set by a previous robot. Its creators hope that swarms of such hopping robots could spread out to explore disaster areas, or even the surfaces of other planets. The robot is only 5 centimetres tall, and weighs just 7 grams. Grasshopper's Sanctuary
A scrap to someone maybe an essential thing to somebody. This post is actually a continuation of the previous post Withered Leaf. This will answer the questions in the previous post. Here we would be able to see that a withered leaf serves as the grasshopper's sanctuary. A withered leaf may not be important to us but to the grasshopper, it is. It is a safe haven for him. It shows that there

Part 1: The Grasshopper And The Piss-Ant
The earliest time of my life I can remember is when we lived on Rosedale Street, out in the far east side of Fort Worth. This area of town was known as Stop Six. The name of the area came about from it being stop number 6 on the old Fort Worth to Dallas Interurban [...]

Grasshopper Hills; Reflections on 1 Corinthians 9
Just to the west of my old high school can be found the start and finish line for the cross country course. The three mile course was a notoriously grueling one, as it dropped nearly 300 feet down towards the river and then snaked its way back up the valley through a series of very [...]

The grasshopper thinks ant is a fool and laughs and dances & plays the summer away. Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed. The grasshopper neither has food nor shelter,

      And the grasshopper grows....
Although I have to say I normally feel like throwing the nearest heavy object at the TV when it comes to the writing on GH recently, I do LOVE how they are allowing Spinelli's character to grow. In the past, if Jason had yelled at him in the way he did today - "DELETE IT!" - Spinelli would have been majorly traumatized and made a hasty exit. Today, he was obviously hurt but stood his ground. "Consider it deleted." This shows a major turning point for Spinelli, definitely in his relationship with Jason and hopefully with others as well. He is learning that not every moment of anger or outburst of emotion should be taken personally.Spinelli seemed to feel the moment as well, allowing him to muster up the courage to confront Scott. I think he realized he may have pushed his limits a bit, but he's come a long way from the scared rabbit he was six months ago, and he knows it.But leaving the bag of chips for Jason - "they help" - showed us that no matter how much the grasshopper lear

      You Disappoint Me, Young Grasshopper
Sigh. Bobby, Bobby, Bobby. After all the time we spent together this off-season, this is what you come up with for the home opener? front row: Ozgreeder, Bobby Howry; back row: sparkles, gauchodirk, cubbiejulie For those of you who, like me, didn't see the game, apparently our good friend Bobby decided to help the perenially insecure Adam Everett feel better about himself, giving up a two-run blast with one out in the 8th. That was it, as the evil Astros beat the good guys 5-3. I don't really have the heart to talk about the rest of it, but you can read the game wrap here. Oh, and I guess I'm supposed to pick a player of the game or something? Can I say anyone OTHER than Bobby Howry? No? Hmmmm. Not having seen the game, this is difficult, but looking at the box score, I'm going with JJ, who managed to get last year's monkey off his back and went 2 for 4 today. Alas, chin up, kids. Tomorrow is another day, even if OGDJM! is pitching. I'm off to see Christopher Plummer and Brian

      Mary Frances Grasshopper Handbag
In in effort to bring you all types of bags for all types of tastes I stumbled across this horror of a handbag. It is probably the ugliest bag I have ever seen. I think the desinger of this bag is laughing at the entire handbag industry. It is the Mary Frances Grasshoper handbag. This bag is an offense to grasshopper's! It looks more like grasshopper barf. This offensive bag retails at a hefty price tag of $250. This mess can be purchased at www.shopnbc.com Last time I checked there were only 23 left of these things!
